Yesterday i got my old bugs 3 drone out and it binds to a new multiprotocol RC transmitter . Use BUGS protocol on internal tx and set up ch5 to be arm . Channel 1 and channel 4 edit to change the weight to -100 . I put an fpv camera anda 5.8ghz vtx on it . Lots of videos on youtube show how . The bugs 3 is cheap. Big , strong , efficient , able to carry caneras and has longest range of the drones on the market.

I agree I started with the bugs and still have them . Now I even have them binding with my radiomaster tx16s luminier.

Yes you have to register with the FAA because it weighs over 250 grams. It will also require a remote ID module very soon.

Great flight with a classic quad. My only experience with MJX is the Bugs 3 Pro. Apart from the GPS, the so called 'Pro' version is crap. Quite unstable and poor lifting ability compared to my Syma X8C. I also noticed that sometimes, the Bugs 3 Pro would shake a bit during horizontal movement. I hope the regular Bugs 3 doesn't get those shakes?

Actually, the last time I flew my Bugs 3 Pro, it lost power and fell out of the sky at the beginning of a flight. I had just finished charging the battery. I put it up into the air in a stationary hover (in GPS mode.) It was only in the air for less than a minute and then it dropped like a rock. I never bothered flying it again. Maybe I should....but I wouldn't risk flying it over water or anything like that anymore as I don't trust it now. Battery is extremely old now though and has not been used for years.

Good times. I remember when the bugs 3 first arrived to me. It was snowing outside, I threw the firefly 7s on there at the time and sent it up. I still have both the blue drocon bugs and my original bugs 3, but they collect dust now. 🥹

You can bind with BUGS protocol and setup channel 5 for arm . The drone is preset for arm on ch5 . Ch1 and 4 need weight set to -100

You cant find this drone any longer, i buy the contixo f17 same try putting a 2200 mah 120 c lipo, and yes you have to develop good flying skills i have been through 9 of theses in the past 8 years, crashes, loosing orientation motor failures, ect... The best fastest on 3s gets 50plus mph great range i fly daily get about a year per drone if you make it that long.

M8 was ok, but something about the Bugs 3 keeps me flying it as my favorite drone. I’ve got the inspire, phantom 4 pro v2.0 and the DJI mini 3 pro and Bugs 3 out flies them all.
