I've loved them since they first came out. Had mine a long time now, recently joined by a BMW M135i 6-cylinder, but still like the ST more. It's a real classic, even the magazine reviewers when it was new could see that.

I have had my Facelift Panther Black 5 door since 2009, never getting rid of it. now forged and a hybrid RS Turbo and running 440 hp and 440 lb/ft with many other mods, including a lsd and the ubiquitous Section 59 (with a sports Cat).

@@accelerateyoutube sorry I speak French. No in 290000km I had the clutch because of the extra torque. The right gimbal. Wearing parts: triangle, cardan sleeve, wheel bearing, wastegate, dump valve, several times electrical sensors, alternator. But the engine block has never been opened, the turbo has never been changed.

IMO if you own one of these, keep it... a 5 pot turbo focus will never be made again, and unless you can afford an RS3 the focus ST is defo a future classic

Standard turbo good or 340bhp with Rs turbo can run upto 380 ish sub 5k for a higher milage facelift need to be spending 6500 to 8k to get a nice one 👍

Standard turbo good for 330s RS turbo can run up to 420s but with the ST internals and sensors you can get 400 give or take on the standard pump and sensors etc etc. I run 400bhp and genuinely have a shit ton of mods. This runs an RS turbo?. Standard inlet manifold doesn't fill me with confidence lads lol. Definitely need to get more information so you can chat legitimate facts lads:). You'll get a absolute dog of an ST at 3k as well. This cars maybe a stage 2 circa 280 to 300bhp.

Get A Volvo C30 T5, s40 T5, v50 T5 same chassis same everything really different car purposes. I got v50 T5 family car yet puts a smile on my face ST estate basically.. cheaper insurance as well sleeper standards.

yey a facelift st, finally, do love the way these look, just not a fan of the volvo 5 pot that needs a block mod even before thinking about more power and they dont have that smooth/refined tuner sound with the twin exhausts, has a very strange underlying note for a 5 pot that the smaller capacity lumps dont have.

Great car but avoid ones run on budget! Block mod a must along with torq mounts on engine as the poor Ford ones create huge vibration! One final note check oil filter housing for uprated version as early ones suffer split diaphrams and can cause big issues!

Great advice, you are not the first to say "don't buy one on a budget" (as tempting as it may be) which makes sense. Any performance car needs to be maintained correctly! And I think alot of these have gone into the wrong hands! He has now replaced it a Mk7 Fiesta ST running around 340BHP! We have a video on that too. Although his Fiesta his great, you can not beat the sound of that 5 cylinder! I contemplated buying the Focus ST from him but funds would not allow me to do so. - Drew

no, a stage 1 remap will give you about 50-60 BHP increase on stock parts.

@@A43R3W yeah thats right, although prob best to get a decent air filter for the stage one, for stage two (from what ive read and been told) youre looking at uprated exhaust, uprated intercooler, induction kit as its all about the airflow to/from the engine (and heat!) ive read some people say a higher pressure fuel pump may be needed, but it seems to be a common argument if this is needed or not. (for the ST stage two an RS clutch and flywheel is also debated, the cost of that may be a no no)
