Hey Jasper, I picked up the ORAs based off your videos. They are surprisingly loud for their size. Unbelievable. Still adjusting to them and I can't say I'm 100% sold, but will keep testing. I do have a question, have you tried comparing the sound quality between the usb-c and rca ports on the ORAs? It could be my interface line out (Roland Bridge Cast), but when I switched to usb-c, it sounded better. Wondering if it's my interface or if it's the RCA on the ORAs. Thanks.

Hey hey - hanks for the note! I have done some minor testing with both inputs and I personally use them with the USB-C input; both sounded good though. I prefer USB since it removes the potential for interference. One thing I’ll say is placement can often make a lot of difference. So I’d suggest playing around with that to see if it helps (Kanto makes some nice stands).

I don’t consider them monitors since they do not have a perfectly neutral frequency response, and they are more geared towards casual listening rather than sound production. Not a bad thing, just a difference in how they’re tuned: Link for those who are curious amzn.to/3C1BQRk

Recently purchased original iloud micro monitors as a second -More discreet - pair to my 8 inch monitors. So far, so good. You can do 85% of tracking and leveling on them, protecting your hearing and having less complains from the neighbours. For a future upgrade, i would probably consider the 3 way mtm's

So sorry I missed this earlier comment! It depends what you’re looking for in a speaker. Personally, I have both the T0, the ORA4, and the ORA, and I choose to use the ORA as my main computer speaker. I use it on its side under my monitor on an S2 stand. It’s compact, looks good, and sounds great for my everyday listening.

I was looking to get the A2+ for my setup because wearing headphones all the time is inconvenient and bothersome. just found out about the new Micro Monitors thanks to this video. Using the original Micro Monitors right now, I'll say that the bluetooth won't be missed by me, I found it to be too noisy. Nice upgrades all around, balanced XLR-in + independent power = cleaner, louder audio, but as you said, USB audio would have been really sweet. still hard to beat the Original Micro Monitors on price, and I really enjoy the smaller size, but the new Micro Pro is a long needed update.

I have the original micro monitors. best dollars i spent for my homestudio back when i was geting started. I also got the sonarworks room sound calibration so i guess i was ahead of my time :D question: the originals had bass port chuffing at moderate to loud levels, which was very annoying. with the bigger size and portholes, and powzer as well, can you comment on whether they have the same problem or it has been resolved? i'm considering a second pair for an alternate mix station. thanks!
@ikmultimedia

It’s improved here. But still being a very small speaker with lots of LF extension, the bass reflex can be a bit noisy at high levels. This however will not create any issue or limitation when working on audio.

Hi, a layman's question. For the Kanto Ora: in terms of sound quality is the USB-C -> USB or USB-C -> 3.5 aux jack configuration preferable? I'll buy an iMac M4. Thanks a lot!
@Jasper_Tech
@Jasper_Tech 22 күн бұрын
I prefer to connect the ORA to my Mac Studio via a USB-C cable (both ends are USB-C). The benefit of this over 3.5mm is that the audio signal is always digital, so it never has the opportunity to get any type of cable interference/noise/whine.

I have Dirac, Sonarworks and know what a room can do.....(and how impulse and eq correction does magic) that being said the Iloud are not really affected by the room the are ment to be used in close range (closer than nearfield). They work great and you don't need to push them far to be loud although you need to keep them in close range. I would use correction (on the pro's if I would upgrade) learn the sound and be fine. The old Ilouid micro had bluetooth as well which can be nice for phone kinda suprised the pro's do not feature bluetooth anymore...

I am listening to you on my 3yr. old Vanatoo T-0,s. I love these little guys. My home studio Focale SM-9 mixes, translate amazingly well on them. Nice presentation Jasper Tech.

They look great for someone who spent all their money on euro rack modules... Otherwise i dont think i can even hear anything below 8 inches, getting old.

Agreed! I wanted to include them, but was not able to get them in time and do the necessary testing, so here we are. I’ll be including them in an upcoming video!

Fair point. I try to include the major players, but sadly my time/money means I cannot always feature all the options I’d like. I’ll be making a new video soon featuring the D3V. Thanks for the comment - it helps me get better 🙏

Where are the Kali LP-UNF?... Perhaps if you included the best value in their class, you might get more subscribers...

AFAIK only the new iLouds Pro have unbalanced XLRs. The rest are just fancy and expensive computer speakers.
