Compared to bots from Roborock and Ecovacs, I think Irobot is really falling behind. I think Irobot should switch to LIDAR, it's much better for navigation and the Roombas need a larger battery.

Great video. Thank you.
@hansielategan9693 жыл бұрын
The J& seems great except for iRobot still sticking to that stupid little battery, although there is ample space for a bigger battery. Yes, it has recharge and resume, but it makes the time the robot spends cleaning a larger floor plan double that of a Roborock. That is to me the biggest no-no.
@RobotMasters3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it weird iRobot choose to go with a smaller battery similar to the i6. Hopefully their next model can offer battery life similar to the Ecovacs or Roborock.

Great video. How hard does the J7+ bump into baseboards compared to the T8 AIVI?
@RobotMasters3 жыл бұрын
The J7 usually will slow down before making contact with the furniture. It may occasionally run into it full speed if the camera fails to see the object. As fir baseboards it shouldn't have any issues with them.

Yeah I had that happened on a few models. They should add a proximity sensor on top of the robot that temporarily disables the button when it under furniture. Or add a feature in the app to allow the user to enable or disable the buttons based on certain conditions.

I wish my side brush had two speeds on my J7😕 it's going very fast all the time, but is a bit slower than the i7. Still scatters crumbs. Were you using beta test firmware?

I think what was happening the side brush do slow down once they detect an object with the front camera. Along the edges and open areas they spin crazy fast.

@@RobotMasters So I just recently purchased the Roomba I3+ but haven't used it yet. Do you think I should try one of your recommendations instead? I paid $300 for it with my Kohls coupon and kohls cash
@RobotMasters3 жыл бұрын
@@denisejones7544 Well I would recommend keeping the i3+ especially if you got a good discount at $300. The only main difference beside the front facing camera is the ability to tell the robot vacuum which room to clean or to keep the robot out of certain areas via the app. If you want the room select take a look at the i6, can find them several $100 cheaper than the J7.

With the iRobot series, you have the option to keep cleaning while bin is full or the other option is empty and continue cleaning. Unfortunately you can't control how often the self emptying works.

How would you rank the Roomba J7+ vs Roborock S7+ vs Dreame Z10 Pro? At obstacle avoidance (Sandals or washcloth on floor)? App user experience? Most painless at set and forget? Least likely to get stuck? Or is there a better bot you'd recommend?
@RobotMasters3 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm as for obstacle avoidance the best one that avoided the most obstacles is the Shark AI and Ecovacs T8 AIVI did the best. The Z10 Pro as of now, been having navigation issues so until they fix the software can’t recommend it. The Roborock S7 is the best overall performer despite not having any front facing technology. So the most reliable are the Roomba J7, Roborock models like the S7 or S4.
@user-ke8vk8bo4j3 жыл бұрын
@@RobotMasters Do you think Roborock will release a US version of the T7S Plus? Maybe I should wait and hope for that.

@RobotMasters2 жыл бұрын
Well all of the robots you listed should do fine with this type of floors. The main difference are features for example the i3 the cheapest. The J7+ offers obstacle avoidance. The S7+ is the best performing and navigating robot.

Which would you choose 360 s10 or J7?
@RobotMasters2 жыл бұрын
Well it depends on what features you are looking for. If you want self emptying and a simpler app interface the J7 a better choice. If you have a lot obstacles, enjoy a bunch of features like live map tracking, 3D maps than the 360 S10 a better choice. I found the J7 to be a better robot vacuum overall. I would choose the J7 but that based on how well it did in my home.

how can I reset the camera on a J7+ it seems to have stopped working
@RobotMasters2 жыл бұрын
Launch the iRobot App, Go to the Robot main screen and select the little Map icon, than select the map where you want to reset the camera, once you see the map floor plan, upper right hand corner there 3 horizontal dots. Select this and scroll to the bottom to where it says reset obstacle sensitivity. This resets the camera for that map. If you have multiple maps or levels you can perform the steps for each map.

So you can try deleting the App off you phone than, try reinstalling with the same Account login info. The data won’t be deleted, but clears the cache the App creates on your device. The other thing could be iRobot server which might be causing a temporary issue. I have heard and experience this with the Maps. So I had to wait a few days, you can also submit a ticket through the App to their customer service line. They have been pretty good at address and fixing the problem.
