Unfortunately if you copy Prismatic Ending (e.g. with Jace), the copy can only exile something with mana value zero, because no colors of mana were spent to cast the copy. LSV didn't seem to realize this, but notice how the second Amulet doesn't go away at 1:02:20.

It ramps you for 6 mana turn 4…also let’s you protect cards from discard and also make them strong against counter fights. It also can loot, it only plus and has a strong ultimate… It also let you cast suspended cards for free… Immagine him with talking turns card like “savor the moment” or restore balance. Great card

It won the game because the opponent plotted their own Counterspell, so there was upside in having it in the deck and giving your opponent the chance to cast it and make that awful misplay 😄

Dreadhorde Arcanist and Finale of Promise just feel kind of better, both with Visions and as standalone cards. They don't slot into control, but draw that is so easily anticipated seems pretty weak in Bowmasters.meta

Game 2 against pie gonti you could've also suspended at instant speed thanks to Teferi. I forget the ruling but you're allowed to suspend at instant speed if you have an ability that makes sorceries be casted at insant speed

It's from the Suspend rules themselves. The rule is that you can suspend "any time you could play this spell", and not "any time you could cast a Sorcery" which is why Teferi + Suspend works but Teferi + Plot doesn't.

This is incorrect. Suspending a card is not casting it.T3feri only allows you to "CAST" sorceries at instant speed. Suspend rules States "Exiling a card with its suspend ability is not casting that card. This action doesn't use the stack and can't be responded to."

"New T4 Jace can cheat out suspend spells on T4, without the restrictions of Cascade!" *Dreadhorde Arcanist, Finale of Promise, and Electrodominance exist* That aside, running two cards that are dead before at least T4 seems not very good with the speed of Modern and Bowmasters all over the place. Also the anti-synergy with the Evoke elementals, counterspells, and Omens is not great. Seems like a Restore Balance build might be the way to go with 2Jace, but even then everything just feels too slow.

Untap geier reach is pretty much the only target since I have never seen a tapped kaheera. I suppose it is a left over from when the deck had the one ring, just went under the radar?

The new Jace actually makes me wonder if it might be decent in something like a blue black living end, or a reanimator style deck. Basically, because you can't cast it it's skipped over, but being able to set it up to just plot a Living end is decent enough with some good creatures.

I'm pretty sure that's not how cascade works. Cascade states to exile cards until you reveal a card with lesser mana value. It doesn't get skipped you just hit the Jace and are unable to cast it.

@lngun I'm aware, my point however, is that it could be run without needing to worry about it being cascaded into until turn four and even then you could use its ability to plot the Living End from hand if you already drew a copy. Basically it would allow for a bit of a backup plan if needed for the deck. Remember the cards still go back on the bottom of the deck

@@mageius The issue is then the Living End player would probably be dead at that point. Livind End does not play interaction, so if they have to wait until earliest turn 4 to cast Jace and then plot living end and then wait to turn 5 to finally cast the living end they are probably dead. I can also see a Living End player staring down lethal on the board to Ardent Plea cascading to hit Living End only to hit Jace and instantly scoop. Cascade is at it's strongest when it know exactly what it is going to hit off of cascading. You don't want to gamble off of hitting a card you can't cast turn 3 or does nothing.

might as well just run an aggro/tempo build with Finale of Promise and Dreadhorde Arc or even Cascade at that point. Two 4/4s that can't attack until T6 isn't good, even in control. Verdict makes it even worse.

@KungFuIsland I'm thinking add in line of anticipation so that you can cast Jace earlier than turn 4, but even so, wouldn't the 2 4/4s give an extra line of attack in an archetype that usually doesn't have creatures? Maybe not in the mainboard, but a neat sideboard swap?

Joy, yet another way to abuse mana costs. Pretty sure this is gonna be just like the Cascade into Tibalt crap, already seeing it happening on Arena where you're getting a 7 mana spell for free. Edit to add* You could even get it early with something like Restoration of Eiganjo into discard jace and plot. Not sure how consist it would be but there's gotta be a bunch of ways around the can't cast cause to get an early free win

Jace is a horrible card in Modern. Due to the card having Serra Avenger clause makes it a horrible card in modern. Being unable to cast the card until turn 4 at the earliest is horrible. Being unable to cast the plotted card until your next turn at sorcery speed is horrible. Modern is far to fast for this card. Jace will probably have a home in Pioneer where it is lower powered and can wait until turn 4 to Jace and plot away Valki. In modern though this card is bad at best and horrible at worst.
