It's definitely not worth the price when nostalgia is removed from the equation. Luxury and regular sportscars that are a whopping $40k cheaper with vastly superior interiors and equal or better performance currently exist. I love the R35, it's just grossly overpriced for what it is.

Hit the nail on the head Joe. It’s a dream car. I was 13-14 when the R35 GT-R came out and I knew I had to have one. When I graduated high school I set my sights on obtaining a GT-R. I made no excuses and 10 years later I made it happen. I bought my 2013 Black Edition with just 9k miles. Damn near perfect car and it’s increasingly harder to find nice ones. An E-Ray, M4, 911. All may post faster numbers but, they don’t stir the soul like the R35. Even after all these years the R35 makes people smile when they see it.

Had 2015 Black Edition, it nice and all, not taking anything away from this helluva car, but after couple years. There’s something missing. Wish Nissan would’ve offer MT even though itll be slower. Drove my uncle’s 90s NSX. That thing just drives. Guess I’m just missing that analog feeling. Haha.
@moneyblade510 ай бұрын
@@tigerbiterhater Understandable. I certainly like a manual transmission. My daily is manual transmission. I still get that analog feel from the GT-R and the gearbox isn’t so perfect like a PDK or the C8s tremec that it fades into the back. The GT-R transmission requires some input from the driver to be smooth. If I could only have one car I’d certainly miss having a manual.

The GTR is still one of the best drivers cars of all time. You can criticize it's interior or say it needs a refresh, blah, blah, blah, etc, but you cannot deny the amount of development this car has and the level of performance and grip, so that you can use the power to your advantage. One of the best AWDs in the world. It looks sexy still and the rear end is just phenomenal. Bullet proof legendary V6 twin turbo, with lots of room for insane tuning! Blows away so many other more expensive cars! and if you get that black model with all the incredible overtones in the paint it shines and glows in the sunlight and depending on time of day. Looks are subjective. As a long time Corvette fan, I was one of the few(I guess) that loved the C7 rear when I saw it and I also love the C8 rear and tail lights. I think they are very cool and distinctive. The circle lights wouldn't have went as well with the rest of the design, so they brought them in line. Still kept the same overall setup though. I think the back of a C7 Z06 is one of the coolest designs out there.
@sly926310 ай бұрын
@@Viper3048 looks are subjective, to an extent. The tail lights of the C8 don't fit with the rest of the car's design language; they look aftermarket, not stock.

I dont think the old school round lights would fit well with the C8 design. Feel like it'd have a cheap aftermarket look like someone is trying to make a corvette look like a GTR. With Nissan’s history with AWD systems, I’d most definitely trust their system over a GM product. The GTR doesn’t have as impressive numbers as many other vehicles out there these days, but it’s not always about bigger is better. A Miata has ‘low’ HP and still regarded as one of the greatest sports cars of all time. The GTR has blistering performance and it’s obtainable for folks who are not professional race drivers. I’ve read posts time and time again that a good amount of people sold their GTR because it was too EASY to drive and they felt bored with the car. Not that its performance was boring, but that the car made driving at its limit too easy to drive all out and bawls to the wall. Strangely, it’s almost like the forgotten super car in 2024. I know myself I’d love to own one if ever given the chance. A truly special vehicle with history and prestige behind it. I think the biggest downfall of the skyline/GTR is the pricing. It started out as someone affordable for its super car preference, then the pricing skyrocketed like crazy. In 2024, when someone can get a Model 3 Performance with 500+hp and equal torque numbers for literally more than half of the price of a GTR, it doesn’t help things. Even an S Plaid is MUCH less In price but with 1,020Hp and 900+lb tq. Two different cars for sure but power for power and compared in price, it’s not even close in which one wins. EV’s have definitely mixed things up and changed how we look at price and performance. Nonetheless, love the GTR and hope to own one eventually!
