When i saw the beaver i thought it was cool, then i saw the price. I dont know what high speed stuff folks get up to off road but a solid wood handle pointed shovel with a d handle has never steered me wrong. Linseed oil and you can go crazy with an angle grinder for the teeth if you need the look. That and a good pair of leather gloves have served wildland firefighters well for decades. If it aint broke dont fix it

Love the angle grinder tip. I haven't felt the need for a zombie slayer shovel, but great idea.

Always great to see what others are carrying. Thanks for the review. There should be some sort of Molly board that with d rings allow for locking. Hmmmmmm

I like it. Cool idea.

@@TRAILPOWER I bought a 10 pack of "keyed" lug nuts. One for all five wheels. Used a stud from lowes that is the proper thread pitch, as my through bolt to mount my hijack and a few other accessories. I also run 30 foot security cable through my gear (kayak, cooler, propane tank, etc.) when I'm on a trip. Like you said, it keeps the honest guys honest.

Wondering how you attached the traction boards vertically. I have a MetalTech bumper and GX, I’m always looking to move them around, on the roof, s hooks inside on the handles, laid on the floorboards. Would appreciate to know how you stow those vertically. Lastly, going to check out this shovel…when I buy, I’ll come back here and do via video.

Hey John, I drilled two holes in the Jerry can cage and the maxtrax and ran a bolt with a knob, or wing nut on each. One in the front up high, one in the back down low. Thousands of miles off road on them and they haven’t moved. One thief tried to take them and gave up when he realized there was a cable lock running through them.

Try the Yakima top grip, they come with SKS locks!

Those are awesome. On the pricey side, but effective.

$75 for a shovel?
@TRAILPOWER Жыл бұрын
$75 is looking pretty good about now. Prices on everything are ^^^. Nupla is built to be out in the weather on the back of my rig without falling apart. I'm ok paying a bit more, but it's not for everyone. Cheers!
