Fun fact. The first corner at Imola since it was redesigned in 1995 is actually called Traguardo, it’s only turn 2 and 3 that’s called the Tamburello chicane. I’m ignoring the kink in the straight by the way. BBC and ITV commentators always used to call it correctly it’s only since we gone back to Imola they’ve just started calling it all Tamburello.

It puts in perspective how quick the early '94 cars were - Senna's final pole was a 1:21.5 and he didn't bother to go out after Roland's accident. Also in Brazil, his 1:15.9 wouldn't be improved until 2000.

For some reason Imola has to be a really hard track. All content creators as well as the formula one drivers in real life really struggle to get a lap together or to drive a clean race. This difficulty makes it a great track even for today's formula one cars, even if overtaking is not so easy because there is always chaos.
