@Brave Soul Allah never promised to preserve the Torah and Gospel, those were localized scriptures sent exclusively to the Israelites. Plus Prophets were continuously coming to them as well and their very texts were telling them of the future coming Final Prophet (This is why the Jewish cream of Rabbis emigrated to Arabia, to Madinah exactly. To wait for him). Yet, ofc, they kept twisting the texts and killing those prophets untill The favor of God was lifted from them as well as Prophetood forever. The Quran is the final testament sent to all of mankind as it makes the claim for itself, and Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was the seal of prophethood on earth. There won't be any updates coming. Therefore a condition of heavenly preservation of the text was inevitable and logical.

@@premansatheesan3163 The Glorious Qur’an, the Muslims’ religious Scripture, was revealed in Arabic to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the Angel Gabriel (peace be upon him). The revelation occurred piecemeal, over a period of 23 years, sometimes in brief verses and sometimes in longer chapters.[1] The Qur’an (lit. a ‘reading’ or ‘recitation’) is distinct from the recorded sayings and deeds (Sunnah) of the Prophet (peace be upon him), which are instead preserved in a separate set of literature collectively called the Ahadith (lit. ‘news,’ ‘report,’ or ‘narration’). Upon receiving revelation, the Prophet (peace be upon him) engaged himself in the duty of conveying the message to his Companions (may Allah bless them all) through reciting the exact words he heard in their exact order. This is evident in his inclusion of even the words of God which were directed specifically to him, for example: “Qul” (“Say [to the people, O Muhammad]”). The Qur’an’s rhythmic style and eloquent expression make it easy to memorize. Indeed, God describes this as one of its essential qualities for preservation and remembrance (Qur’an, 44:58; 54:17, 22, 32, 40), particularly in an Arab society, which prided itself on orations of lengthy pieces of poetry. Michael Zwettler notes that: “In ancient times, when writing was scarcely used, memory and oral transmission was exercised and strengthened to a degree now almost unknown.”[2] Large portions of the revelation were thus easily memorized by a large number of people in the community of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged his Companions to learn each verse that was revealed and transmit it to others.[3] The Qur’an was also required to be recited regularly as an act of worship, especially during the daily meditative prayers (salah). Through these means, many repeatedly heard passages from the revelation recited to them, memorized them and used them in prayer. The entire Qur’an was memorized verbatim (word for word) by some of the Prophet’s Companions. Among them were Zaid ibn Thabit, Ubayy ibn Kaab, Muadh ibn Jabal, and Abu Zaid.[4] Not only were the words of the Qur’an memorized, but also their pronunciation, which later formed into a science called Tajweed. This science meticulously elucidates how each letter is to be pronounced, as well as the word as a whole, both in context of other letters and words. Today, we can find people of all different languages able to recite the Qur’an as if they are Arabs themselves, living during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Furthermore, the sequence or order of the Qur’an was arranged by the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself and was also well-known to the Companions.[5] Each Ramadan, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would repeat after the angel Gabriel (reciting) the entire Qur’an in its exact order as far as it had been revealed, while in the presence of a number of his Companions.[6] In the year of his death, he recited it twice.[7] Thereby, the order of verses in each chapter and the order of the chapters became reinforced in the memories of each of the Companions present. As the Companions spread out to various provinces with different populations, they took their recitations with them in order to instruct others.[8] In this way, the same Qur’an became widely retained in the memories of many people across vast and diverse areas of land. Indeed, memorization of the Qur’an emerged into a continuous tradition across the centuries, with centers/schools for memorization being established across the Muslim world.[9] In these schools, students learn and memorize the Qur’an along with its tajweed, at the feet of a master who in turn acquired the knowledge from his teacher, an ‘un-broken chain’ going all the way back to the Prophet of God. The process usually takes 3-6 years. After mastery is achieved and the recitation checked for lack of errors, a person is granted a formal license (ijaza) certifying he has mastered the rules of recitation and can now recite the Qur’an the way it was recited by Muhammad, the Prophet of God (peace be upo him). A.T. Welch, a non-Muslim orientalist, writes: “For Muslims, the Qur’an is much more than scripture or sacred literature in the usual Western sense. Its primary significance for the vast majority through the centuries has been in its oral form, the form in which it first appeared, as the “recitation” chanted by Muhammad to his followers over a period of about 20 years… The revelations were memorized by some of Muhammad’s followers during his lifetime, and the oral tradition that was thus established has had a continuous history ever since, in some ways independent of, and superior to, the written Qur’an... Through the centuries the oral tradition of the entire Qur’an has been maintained by the professional reciters (qurraa). Until recently, the significance of the recited Qur’an has seldom been fully appreciated in the West.”[10] The Qur’an is perhaps the only book, religious or secular, that has been memorized completely by millions of people.[11] Leading orientalist, Kenneth Cragg, reflects that: “…this phenomenon of Qur’anic recital means that the text has traversed the centuries in an unbroken living sequence of devotion. It cannot, therefore, be handled as an antiquarian thing, nor as a historical document out of a distant past. The fact of hifdh (Qur’anic memorization) has made the Qur’an a present possession through all the lapse of Muslim time and given it a human currency in every generation, never allowing its relegation to a bare authority for reference alone.”[12] 1. @Moneyxl00 he said that the sayings of Muslims regarding the fact that the Quran was compiled into book during the time of Muhammad or shortly after that and that the Quran has not changed from that period are true. No, that is a lie, and he knows very well that. There are no Quran manuscripts from that period, that is why the modern Quran is a compilation of a recitation, Hafs recitation, and has at base no any manuscript. Why is that if there are reliable Quran manuscripts ? Why? What about Sanna Manuscripts, here it is again a lie when he shamelessly asserts that no one has ever studied them . Big, big lie! The Sanaa Manuscripts have been studied by many historians, the most famous of whom is the German Dr. Puin. Dr. Puin has said that the Sanna Manuscripts prove beyond any doubt that the Quran has suffered many, many human interventions. This Dr. Joseph Lumbard lies and lies, and it is not for first time when he does this. . I cannot figure out how this man can look into the camera and then lie like this. How? How?

Dan Brubakers book is eyeopening...So much so that Islamic Awareness affirmed there is no first complete Quranic manuscript. They submitted to Dan Brubakers textual analysis and have put on there website that there are 63 fragments from many years apart that in which they guesstimate. But academia is now dogmatic - there is no 1st century complete Quran manuscript and Daniel Brubakers scholarship has put forth a provoking challenge to what we thought we knew about the Quran.

In Egypt we have in the central library of islamic manuscripts a copy of the Quraan ; experts say that it dates to the end of the first century of hegra and is probably was copied directly from the othmanic Quraan (first Quraan -there were a certain number of copies distributed among the major cities " in iraq ,syria , egypt and others" of the islamic world at that time and to be replicated and further distributed around the same country but unfortunatly no one can be shure where are the copies of the othmanic Quraan . Lately in Bermingham england parts of an unknown manuscript was found and they say it is contemporary to the prophet or right after his death " peace be upon him" and they are still studying it.

But to muslims The Quraan was an oral revelations in the first place so it was memorized by the arabs and they were kings of the spoken word , ( befor Islam many of them were very good with poems and they were used to memorize hundreds of poems and the best and longest poems were called the " Alfiah " because it is composed of a thounsand verse they would hang it on the walls of Kabaa in Mecca and that was a great honnor . And up untill now many families in the muslim world have a member or more who memorize the Quraan so we do not need very much the first copy of Quraan except for historic matters because it was already handed down generation to generation orally and it didnt change for 1400years and God is the protector.

@Mursaleen Bulus I am not a scolar but what i ve been taught and what i ve read later is that in the time of khalifa Abu Bakr "first khalifa after the prophet" some of the memorizers of the quraan were killed in war so Omar ebn el khattab "second khalifa" suggested that the quraan is better to be gathered in one book and at the time of Khalifa Uthman "third khalifa" it was said to him that there is differences in the dialects of quraan between the over growing muslim community ( but it doesnt really change the meaning of the words only it can be confusing later on) ,so he decided to use the Quraish dialect (of the prophet ) and they collected all the different parts of the qurran from everybody and the book previously gathered from the house of Hafse daughter of abu bakr and wife of prophet mohamad and the same Zaid ebn thabet who participated in the first gathering of the Quraan and other sahabas joined in Now " the Moshaf " was put in with the souras and ayat in the order that we now know .( At that time each one of the participants must have 2 witnesses for every ayat he memorized) . It was then recited in front of even more sahabas. Only then Uthman ordered for all the other parts and bits of quraan to be set to fire so that there wont be any different copies of parts that can make mixing . Only shiaa later on accused Uthman to burn the quraan . And i dont know why are they the ones holding to this allegations never Imam Ali. God said in the quraan that he sent down the quraan and He will preserve it . so if anybody doesnt beleive the words of the holy quraan than he is not a muslim that simple .

What ever your evidence to prove that Quran is not well preserved, it wont works because 1. The Uthman version has been verified correct and no errors. 2. More than 10 prophet companions has check and verified when they compiled Al Quran to a complete sets. They were prophet companions who received god revelation direct from the prophet. The famous ten People who form the chains of narration regarding the Quran are as follows. Umar ibn al Khattab Uthman bin Affan Ali ibn abi Talib Abu Musa al Ash'ari Ubay Ibn Ka'b Abdullah ibn Masood[ Zayd Ibn Thabit Abu Hurairah Abdullah Ibn Abbas Abu al-Darda Of those above ten, the two most important people were Zayd ibn Thabit the personal scribe of Muhammad and Ubay ibn Ka'b who was the foremost authority on the Quran after Zaid. Are muslims still not to trust them for the compilation they have done. 3. Caliph Uthman and his team has confirmed and verified the set of Quran is the most perfect and any old manuscripts recovered after the compilation should be destroyed as there may contains lots of errors and no one able to verify.

This video is way out of date. Furthermore Dr. Lumbard did not say anything new even then. As for the account of the two "recensions" under Abu Bakr and Uthman and final "final" version under the latter, this all comes from Al-Bukhari, who was writing in the 9th century, long after the death of Muhammad in 632. As for the isnad or chain of transmission of the Qur'an even today Muslim scholars can't agree on the textual and oral nature of the "text." The fact is there is no complete Qur'an with all 114 Surahs during the first Islamic century from the Hijrah (622) to around 722. The main Qur'anic manuscripts are all too late and problematical. The content of the Birmingham ms. is pre-Islamic and irrelevant to the present discussion. As for the 63 fragments, which make up only some 96% of the Qur'an (not 100%) they are mostly short and haven't even beem dated properly or collated with the current Hafs text, the basis of the standard Qur'an today. As for carbon 14 dating, this only tells us the date of the parchment not the writing on it. If you are going to discuss research on the traditional Muslim account of Muhammad and the Qur'an at least use some up-to-date material.

@@premansatheesan3163 You're talking about Qiraʼat? This has been known about since the time of the Prophet. When there was disagreements, they came together and found a solution. Even Uthman, when he put the Quran together did so so the majority could be used despite him basing it on one. The difference in Qira'at are not much in a way to change the meaning of Quran. What we understand from the Arabic original text is that this difference in pronunciation exists, but they all go in the same meaning and change nothing from the faith or the Shari'a. Muslim scholars say that this small differences make the meaning reaches and in some case is just a difference in pronunciation because the readers are from a different countries. Just as English has different spellings, pronunciation and even usage of words depending on British English or American English (or Australian English). Colour and color. @@premansatheesan3163 You've inserted speculations into your comment and little to actually back this up. You clearly aren't a native English speaker or proficient in it as some things you've typed don't make sense. I'll respond to what I do understand. The Prophet was orphaned at the age of 6. He was raised by first his grandfather and then his uncle. So, the speculation you made is unfounded. At best I can assume you made a guess based on little to no information (you present none here). At worse, you basically made it up. Aisha only went to live with the Prophet when she came of age (consummation of the marriage). There was no sexual conduct between then until then. Can you link to any hadiths that say he did thighing with Aisha before consummation of their marriage? Can you re-write what you are saying about Maria? I don't understand it. It makes no sense. How is that (black stone) related to idolatry? You're making no sense. Maybe show your thought process on this. You've stated a well known story about the black stone. Yet, from a religious point of view, it's not prayed to. So I don't see how you can take one story and link it to idolatry. It seems you already came to a conclusion and looked for something to back it up and took this, despite the link being none existent to what you conclude.
