I have tried a couple different automatic litter boxes now, and the PETKIT PURAMAX performed quite well in comparison. There was one thing that you should know before buying that could help you out.

Still worth it 8 months later? I just preordered because of prime day, but I've seen so many reviews of the litter tray still smelling, it leaking below...which I would've thought would depend on the quality of the litter....but I've been put off by so many negative one star reviews.... I'm just not sure

Hey, I have this litter box & I have 3 cats. What u need to know: the sensor works pretty well so my cats haven’t been at risk of danger or harm. I’ve had it for about a year btw. Cleaning it is pretty awkward and irritable. You either put ur arm all the way inside to wipe all the weird areas or you have to plan a whole day dedicated to just cleaning the litter box. It does let you take apart the piece that carries the cat litter so I spray that down with hose water & some soap and scrub it a bit which is annoying bcuz of the awkward position. The cleaning cycle is pretty slow but definitely thorough. Sometimes the sensor will detect something that isn’t there & it takes such a long time for the cycle to continue cuz it will freeze in the middle of the cycle until it realizes nothing is there. Ur cats may get impatient & mine have gotten impatient and tried to find other areas to pee/poop but I make sure they wait until it’s done. Cleaning the area where the pee/poop gets dumped into is easy but sometimes the litter leaves crumbs that get stuck inside the compartment that the bin is in so that’s a bit annoying. I have 3 cats so the smell & litter bin is frequently a trouble for me but that’s not rlly anything to do with the machine. But sometimes their paws accidentally get a piece of cat litter or poop stuck on the outside brim so when the cycle is spinning 🔃 the poop gets smeared. Doesn’t happen very often tho but it can happen. Also underneath the compartment that holds the cat litter, it can sometimes have crumbs of litter. Over all I give it like C grade. It does the job but in awkward way that’s irritable but tolerable & completely manageable. Also it holds a lot of litter. I have 3 cats so I empty it out 2 times a week.

Also, it’s spacious for one adult cat to do their business. Not very roomy but good enough space. The fabric thing that the cat litter goes on does not rip or tear. I thought that would be an issue but it’s not. Another thing, I don’t like the size of it overall. It’s so big & kind of hard to find a space dedicated to it. But I think all cat litter boxes are pretty big especially robotic ones. It’s pretty easy to move by sliding but not by carrying bcuz of its awkward design.

Very difficult to clean from inside and replace with fresh filler. After two days smell horrible. Not recommending

No, it’s from using fresh step litter which has this sticky stuff in it to smell good, and I’m pretty sure I mentioned it in the video too. So whatever you do if you get this one, you don’t want to use any litter that has sticky stuff in it to smell better like fresh step. You also don’t need it, because of the air sanitizer inside.
