I recently started doing slow stitch embroidery. I learned embroidery when I was a girl, but I hadn’t done any for a long time. I used to garden and bake, but health issues have put an end to those hobbies. If you’ve never done FPP before, I’d suggest that you do a small simple piece for practice so that you get the hang of mirror image cutting and sewing. You need to sew with tiny stitches that are very hard to remove, so you won’t want to do much - or any - seam ripping. When I started FPP I bought a pattern that was too difficult for me. It became a UFO before it was half finished. I was able to finish it recently after about a 15 year hiatus because my skills have improved and I had the time to devote to the project. Tip: If you ever print an FPP pattern on a home printer, use an inkjet printer. If laser printer toner gets on your iron, your hot iron can permanently heat set the toner onto your project. Ask me how I know.

G'day Carol. I had to go look up slow stitch embroidery as I had not heard that term before. It looks fun and interesting. I have done a few small FPP projects so I should be ok if start with the simpler blocks. I was not aware of the toner printer issue but it makes perfect sense with how that paper is printed on. My pattern is already printed but good to know for future projects.

Oh my gosh Sean, your Quilting is phenomenal. I love all those teeny tiny pieces coming together! And the fabric choices… They are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing those incredible quilts with us! You should be so very proud of yourself… I could never do those! I don’t really have many things that I do for hobbies besides Quilting except I play around in my yard with my flowers but those things are very simple lol have a wonderful week and God bless

Aww thanks Nancy. I hope you are doing well. I do like to work with intricate pieces. I noticed its been a long time thing since i paint tiny things with pottery too. I'm not good with plants. I've managed to keep a rose bush and some orchids alive. Other than that our home is where plants go to die.

G'day Lesa. The Cat is looking even better as the body is starting to take shape. I enjoy eating the baked goods Amanda and the girls make. I've kept a rose bush, Norfolk Pine and some Orchids alive but everything else dies. Not a good gardener sadly.

Hi Kym! I love seeing what garments people are able to make but its not my calling to make myself. I'm definitely an observer for that. My wife and both of the girls love to bake. I help with the eating of said baked goods then the dishes.

I have dabbled in so many crafts over the years from the Cricut, crochet, cross stitch - but quilting ultimately is where my true passion ignited. But I still do cross stitch and am working on an Office themed cross stitch when I need to switch things up!!

OMG, these blocks are so adorable,I especially love the cat! I did every craft you can think of in my lifetime except painting on canvas. I enjoyed all of them but currently sew and knit.

Hi Sean!! For the Wizard of Oz quilt. Did you pick your own fabrics or buy the kit? Toasty is going to be absolutely amazing!! I can’t wait to see it. Before I found quilting, I did all sorts of crafts. Now I pretty much just quilt and hand sew. Occasionally, I will do some wreath making and I also love diamond art, paintings. I used to do ceramics a lot. Also, some Cross Stitch and crochet. I would love to learn how to knit. Have a great week!

Gday Marie. I picked my own fabrics for the Wizard of Oz. I started it 4 months after the kickoff dates so there were no kits left. They provided a list of suggested colours and I stayed as close to that as I could as it looked amazing. We have done some diamond painting and enjoyed it. There is one I would like to finish at some point once I find it again. There are some amazing tutorials out there. My wife has a few @dogmomknits and Kayla @thecrazysocklady does an amazing job showing people how to knit.
