🔥AWESOME TECH I RECOMMEND:
- GPD XD+, a KILLER Android emulation tablet!
www.banggood.com/Original-Box...
- Great, affordable Bluetooth headphones
www.gearbest.com/earbud-headp...
- Excellent pure Android experience on a budget smartphone
www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/...
- Must-have Bluetooth controller for emulation on a cellphone!
www.gearbest.com/game-control...
- Amazfit Bip, an unbeatably affordable smart watch
www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/
One word? ABSOLUTELY. The PSP is super affordable, very portable (especially if you go with the PSPGo), dead easy to hack, and has a massive library -- even before you factor in emulators.
Let's revisit Sony's first foray into the portable world!

I don't agree with you! Phone games is better because there are lot games like PUBG and another types of game. By the way, phone is better for emulator and there are more emulators than psp, like Dolphin emulator that run GameCube and Wii, Damonps2 that run Ps2 games, PSP and others emulators ( snes, N64 etc). As an added bonus, like the PS3 and PS4, PSP games are completely region free, making it a great system to own if you're interested in importing obscure titles that were only released in certain companies, or simply if you ever need to buy games from outside your region. My dad found his old PSP 1000 and gave me it. I bought a cheap 32 gig Duo Stick mem card and installed custom firmware. It has worked wonders for me. You would think that it wouldn’t be worth it for such an old system, but man was I surprised. Not only can I emulate anything from the 2D era up to the PS1 perfectly, but I can also put on any PSP game for free. My friend wanted to get me into the Persona series but I didn’t feel like buying any of the games...... until I found out that I could play 3 (technically 4) of the first games in the persona series just strictly off the PSP. Man I love this thing!

That has to be illegal, not to mention damaging to the market in general. If everybody got games for free, they literally couldn't exist -- since there's no money. Personally, I buy all my games hardcopy. I believe in buying them and I believe in hardcopy (rather than digital). And I don't believe in emulation, for the most part. And, of course, it would be worth it. GBA SP, DS, PSP, N64, PS2 -- they are all quite old but truly worth it, even in 2018. I can't wait to start collecting PSP games and DVD-UMDs again. Buying a PSP-1000 next week! :D

Watching this video has made me long to have my old psp and ds lite once again. And to add to this comment, almost everything you said in the video I can relate with. Even though I was never able to get a psp of my own I had friends who would let me borrow their spares so I had a lot of fun playing games with them. Later when we found out we could hack the psp and play so many different games on it, it just blow our minds. I remember how crazy it felt playing nintendo, ps1, and sega genesis games on it. It was so awesome to be able to take so many great games on the go! Once I able to I'm going to buy a psp and psp go as soon as I can. I won't be the only one who's gonna be happy about it since even my younger sister misses being able to play on it with me.

I imported my PSP via Lik-Sang and had it a couple of days after the Japan launch date with Ridge Racer. Blew my mind. I'm still playing the very same machine, the original battery even still gives me a good 4-5 hours. Currently nearing the end of Valkyria Chronicles 3, in anticipation of the 4th one later this month. Screens a bit wishy washy on the 1000s but so long as it keeps on workin, i'll keep on playin.

I bought my PSP-3000 with that Go!Explore GPS thing and I've only used that and played Yugioh Tag Force like hardcore. xD Literally, each day, every day, college, work, break times, travel by coach, I played Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force all the way till PSVita went dead and Sony abandoned handheld. Then I thought, with yugioh and motorstorm as my only psp games, I wonder how much I missed out on games... And in 2019, I dusted off my psp and hacked it for the first time. I was always super scared it would break. #### It felt as if I had opened Pandora's Box... The vast library, the ps1 ports x) ####

I have a PSP-1000 from 2006 still running to this day. The casing has some scratches, I made the stupid decision one day (in the early years) to rip off the serial sticker from the bottom, and there’s some dust between the case and the panel. But remarkably, I found out two days ago that after all these years nothing has failed functioning and all of my UMDs are working too! I never realized I missed physical controls on portable gaming until I picked it up again. Needless to say, I’m delighted, and I have been playing Burnout Legends again for the past two days trying to get gold on all the Crash mode stages. So far I managed to get gold on about 12 stages. 22 or so more to go!

What does 'physical controls' mean? Do you mean you become one of the mindless idiots that play video games on phones? Man, I can't express how much I hate phones (not to mention, they have hurt the video gaming enterprise a lot since everybody is just trying to game on their phones now rather than buying real consoles/handhelds).

I have some great memories of collecting for the PSP and playing Need for Speed Carbon and watching DVD-UMDs. I also had a blue limited edition PSP, which would now cost an arm and a leg. Just getting a normal black one now, sadly. From a subjective standpoint, I may say the PSP is the greatest handheld.

The PSP model that I highly recommend is the PSP Go because the PSP Go is smaller, more compact, comfortable to hold in your hands and the PSP Go is game-downloadable only. Plus, I highly recommend the 16 GB M2 memory stick for the PSP Go that way you can easily transfer your game data to a brand new PSP Go model in case if your old one goes kaput. And one more thing: the PSP Go comes in handy if you don't want to stack your shelves full of UMDs.

First, good job on the video. You packed a lot of information in about ten minutes. I do take objection to the notion that the later PSP models weren't much different from the 1000, though. The 2000 and 3000 (and the Go!) had double the RAM, which sped up disc loading and gave homebrewers more memory for emulators. Also, IMO the screens of the 3000 and Go are a lot better than in the launch model. Much less ghosting!

I still have my old psp 3000 slim, its worth, but mind the price.. In Brazil they cost new in the stores, the same price since they were manufactured (something like 2009). The best model i think is the old psp 3000 with a card adapter to 32gb with 2 16gb sdcards. Its way cheaper than the psp go, run tons of games, emulators, homebrews. the psp can emulate (poorly) the basic ds. Buy the slim version, rhe fat one is weaker and dont run some things. Mine runs 16gb (2x 8gb cards). -I read pdfs and ebooks -Play tons of titles from psp (mind the games with same names as the ps2 ones as any need for speed, and some rally games that suck) -gameboy classic (for tetris) -gameboy advance -n64 -nintendo famicon -super nintendo -genesys -coverted ps1/psx games -watch converted movies (you really need to convert them) -hear music (many formats) -Hear podcasts and read rss feed (yeah, dont know how that client still works, but its amazing! I can save or stream the podcasts) -i can edit .doc and .txt on it (its hard to type in the virtual keyboard, but watever) -i play dos games (using dosbox I cant browse properlly tho. The default (and now old) battery lasts forever! And if you get a extended one is awesome!

I agree with what you are saying , for me it's a PSP E1000(Street) with à 16gb sd card in an adapter , it doesnt have wifi but it's great and the battery is lasting at least 6h of gaming
@eduamaro8549
@eduamaro8549 6 жыл бұрын
Sharqo Edits Really? only that? My old 3000 lasts from 6 to 15h ( i didnt measured preciselly), with its old stock battery. For example, i charged it 3 days ago and played alot in these 3 days, around 3 to 5 hours of gta libercity stories in it. With the brightness higher it may last less, but with the lowest brightnes (perfect to use inside buildings, its only dark against the sun) it lasts that. With the highest a little less. I imagine that with a extended battery that i think that doubles the capacity. This one i dont know of has a bigger or more advanced screen to last less, but it is a awesome duration too. Mine has wifi, so i download podcasts through its rss client. Browsing is awmost impossible so i really dont use, the psn is shut off, so yeah, basically wifi is not that necessary, actually now, its very trivial for the psp.

I just got a used modded PSP today. And I tell you what I've been having a ball with it. As I hold this thing in my hands, it's one of the first generation ones, you can feel that thing was way advanced for its time. which is also why I never had one growing up because it was so prohibitively expensive compared to the Nintendo DS. what blew me away right away is when I found out that it runs PlayStation 1 games natively as well. Vigilante 8 2nd offense was one of my favorite games when I was growing up for the Nintendo 64, and now I have the PlayStation 1 version, which runs flawlessly on a handheld. and all these old emulated games look a lot better because it's on a smaller screen so you see less pixelated textures. And with a memory stick duo to micro SD adapter, you can cram tons of games on it. I really think if Sony put their minds to it they can make a really good portable system again. Nintendo and Sony can easily coexist in the handheld market because they all have their own titles.

I hope Sony makes a PSP 4000 series with its own UMD HD drive (it’s like blu ray and DVD but so people won’t try to play PSP 4000 UMD HD games on Old PSP series , Can also read old PSP UMD games ) , left and right analog stick , better IPS 720P touchscreen , but same old PSP operating system , with a hdmi port so people can plug it to a max. 4K HDR TV (but runs high end gpu/cpu intensive games at 1080p ) and has Bluetooth so people can connect it with a DualShock 4 , 3 Controller and also upcoming DualShock/sense 5 controller , has the old round yellow PSP charger port , is able to be charged with old PSP plug , has a MicroUSB or USB-C to USB 3.0 port and also cable included so data can be transferred to computer or from computer to psp 4000 , has 2GB internal memory included and also a 32GB Memory stick Duo/Pro Duo included, 4GB Ram (can be yourself configurated when purchasing to 8GB ram) , has cpu/gpu wich is between the iPhone XS/11 , and also has a seperate dock wich can be purchaseable to put the psp 4000 into the dock to plug it into the tv , similar to Nintendo switch dock , and has nearly the same design as the PSP 3000 series , also has one fan in it so the PSP 4000 series won’t overheat , has a warning thing built into it so when the cpu/gpu overheat to 100C , it automatically turns off and leaves the fan running at full speed so it can cool down Estimated Price : *your kidney* Lol joke I hope when such a thing releases , I hope it won’t be over 500€ If Sony releases such a thing , I’ll buy it ! If people enjoyed the old psp , people will probably enjoy the new psp 4000

You know the PSVita has been jailbroke, right? I believe it is worth now, the hackers even managed to develop an SD card adapter. Lots of Homebrew, emulators and, PS1 and PSP games and... Well, piracy.

Izzy Nobre I believe it's almost a year since the "universal hack" came out. It's called henkaku and it really revigorate the system. One of the last cool Homebrew gives you the opportunity to stream PC games on the Vita (still in beta). If you wish to buy another one someday, pay attention to the system firmware version, newer versions don't let you install the hack properly, but it's not that hard to find one suitable for it.

BZRKR • If you don't play online (and I doubt you can find any game that still has players online), don't update anymore. There is not perspective of a new hack soon for new newest firmware, but you never know, there are a lot of guys working on that right now just for the glory. There is another way, though. You can buy a new PSVita motherboard that has the compatible firmware already installed from China, it's not that expensive.

Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker Fight Night The Warriors Grand Theft Auto: VCS Every WWE game available for it God of War The PSP was an amazing console. I had one for a brief time, and my siblings had it too. I’m getting one again very soon. The PSP was legendary, and it always seemed to me like it was more “grown up” than the DS. Sony should bring it back with the games available now. The PSP was and will always be great. So excited that I found this video and people that also have a special place in their hearts for this wonderful handheld console

I've been wanting a PSP for a few years to play a couple of games in the Tales of franchise and I finally got myself one about a month ago and I have to say, why didn't I ever get one sooner! Currently my favorite thing to play on. Got some PSP and PS1 games loaded on to it so I'm definitely good to go!

True, but I gotta say for experience, that keeping the dust out of the PSP screen when replacing it or opening for whatever the reason, is a modern form of torture. IT'S SIMPLY ONE OF THE WORST THINGS TO PERFORM EVER. It's insane how dust suddenly like, materializes on top of the fuckn' screen. You wipe all off, from case and LCD, take care to put it on, nothing when you close it up, perfect, all snapped in place, perfect no dust, close 3 screws, perfect no dust, close all but one, perfect no dust. Close last screw: one fuckin' piece of dust on the MIDDLE of the screen materializes there.

I just ordered a new screen for my PSP 3000 and a new joystick for my PSP 1000. While browsing the replacement parts ... I discovered PSP shells ... $20 and you can rebuild the whole PSP any color and the KZbin install videos make it look so easy. First I'm going to do the screen and joystick on my PSPs and if its as easy as it looks ... I'm changing the shells just because !

*Just one heads up on the PSP 1000 joystick: if it's just the tip then no worries nothing to open up, but if you're replacing the entire mechanism then you'll have to open the front shell (obviously), and to put it back together, make sure the bottom screw near the stick is considerably tight. This is important because otherwise you get poor contact and the analog gets stuck in one direction or gets biased to one direction as well. Tho you can test this and tighten it up while the console is on, just open a game that uses the stick for movement and keep tightening until you don't move without using the stick anymore

I just purchased a brand new PSP from Japan. They still sell those things there, makes me wonder how many they just had in stock. Favorite games are almost all of the JRPG games, some golfing games, platformers and all the homebrew emulators. I have more fun playing SEGA/NES games on the PSP than on the TV/Monitor.
