The film is actually a takedown of the novel. But too many people so quick to sound smart by shitting on the film for being as shallow as the novel end up...not paying attention to how the film functions. In the book the entire thing is: "The Oasis is cool and awesome." In the film the entire thing is: "The Oasis may SEEM cool and awesome, but its just another way for corporations to own your soul and distract you from the hellscape you live in." In the book the message is "once you get some booty you waste all your time online." The movie goes deeper than that.

Turns out Amazon far from "Nailed It" with their color ereader. They Colorsoft not only was priced much higher, they had issues with design choices that led to a yellowish band on the bottom of the device, and as we knew even when Izzy released this review, the screen door effect and darker screens were indeed just how the technology is for Kaleido 3. If Amazon had decided to go with the Gallery color technology, maybe it would have been different. But if you don't feel 100% locked in to the Amazon ecosystem, then Kobo is probably the safest most economical way to jump into the color ereader space as the Boox Go Color 7 requires some tweaking to get it to perform at its best for most users.

I’m a “Snyder fan” in that I liked his DC films and have defended them against a decade+ smear campaign. I love the trailer for the Gunn film. Zack Snyder has never read a damn comicbook in his life even minutes he's never had a DC comic book and he even said that he never even read the Watchmen graphic novel. Hard disagree on the idea that the giant octopus attacking the city wouldn't have worked it worked well in the sequel series to Watchmen and I worked in the animated adaptation which is more faithful.

Got gifted a Kobo Aura HD just over 10 years ago. Excellent, excellent, excellent piece of kit. Got me to read more. It found a new lease of life 2 years when I finally remembered it can read manga withiut any DRM or compatibility fuss with oretty much any common format... this thing was my gateway into the manga medium properly (after some initial unsuccessful dabbling on intially receiving). The microSD slot is such a welcome feature to quickly load up my manga collections in a pinch (HakuNeku is goated). I still use my Aura HD to this day for reading manga, especially for holidays or long journeys away from home. The only thing that would compel me to upgrade is a colour e-ink display. I can still use my Aura HD as most manga panels are black and white anyway. I'm delighted Kobo finally has colour e-ink devices on the market, and the clara looks very reasonably priced all things considered. But given the shortcomings of being their first gen colour e-ink product, I might just wait another year or two for the tech to mature and pray my Aura HD's battery doesn't conk out. That thing was really built to last! Can't wait for a future Kobo device to really nail the colour tech (especially if they maintain their current sideloading policy). I think I might actually make a start on Korean Manhwas if a compelling Kobo colour e-ink device releases.

I have a V2 Bittboy (the one that does only NES/GB/GBC without the firmware update). I put it in a box when I moved in Sept 2022, and forgot about it. I found it a few days ago. The original battery was swollen but still worked. I bought a cheap new GBA SP battery and have been playing it quite a bit since then. It's a great little system for playing a game like Pacman or Dr. Mario while riding on the bus or taking a break at work!

I looked into this debate a lot and chose to go with the psp go and bought a back up charger even though psp has a ton of pros I would rather go with the only thing that brought me to wanting any of these, portability.

KNULLI FIREFLY firmware works so well on this device. I'm having a blast with mine. Everything is built into the firmware and just works. Easy to scrape box art and download ports from the app built in over wifi. You can even put your roms on over wifi.

Can you not copy the SV game off the device, then install CFW and put it back on? If it's Android with root access or if it runs some other version of Linux, it shouldn't be too hard I would think. It's a Chinese device, so I doubt they care very much to keep you from having full control over your device, unlike smartphone makers, etc. Copyright isn't their concern anyway.

I don't have a problem with Snyder's DC movies, they were his vision of these characters and for example MOS was a decent movie. Like in the comics during the decades, there has been several different versions from different creators and that itself is a proof that you can do different things with DC stuff and it'll still remain relevant and alive. There is no single "right" version of for example Superman, but it still doesn't mean you have enjoy every single version. And that's fine, everyone has their own taste. Even I don't like them all. What I do have problem is this certain portion of Snyder fans who had zero knowledge of Superman before Snyder's movies, and they haven't educated themselves even after those, which has caused this weird bubble where we have people demanding to bring that version back because somehow he is supposed to be the one and only true Superman, which is a ridiculous statement. These people have no idea about the rich history of Superman, the different story arcs and how the character has developed over the years, and they still think Snyder's version is the one and only, because they simply don't have the knowledge of anything better or different, or the essence of the character. It's a weird mind set and definitely strange attitude to say that one director basically owns the character and everything else is just wrong, when this has been proven wrong one superhero and decade after another. Nolan doesn't own Batman. Snyder doesn't own Superman. Raimi doesn't own Spider-man. Gunn doesn't own Superman, and he won't be the last director to make a movie about him. There's always gonna be the next one, and that's what keep these characters alive. Also I don't get the revenge mentality towards the new DCU. The previous had it's time and there were a bunch of movies made which you can still watch and enjoy whenever you want. Nobody is gonna take them away from you. But don't act like that DCEU was the first movie series that got canned and ended before it was originally supposed. Tons of movies and tv shows get same exact treatment from different reasons, so stop playing the victim and move on. There was always gonna be next guy for the job and right now it's Gunn, but I bet these people would have hated anyone who got the gig. It proves that they're not really that intested in DC, but only one director who himself has moved on years ago.
