I knew of these Hyper Violent, supposedly Divine injunctions, since childhood and would read them as horror stories, with chills running down my spine! This affected my view of God as a Cruel and Hateful and Unjust God, lacking compassion. Eventually I left Christianity for Atheism but found it highly unsatisfying. I never lost my belief in a Creator God. When a Quran was presented to me I wept with great Relief as I read the first 3 pages. Finally I had met the Merciful Creator I had always hoped Existed! Having read a few pages of the Holy Quran all doubts were washed away in streaming Tears and I instantly knew Islam was the True Religion of God! 🙏♥️

As always, Brother Paul, spot-on. I was raised as a Christian and as an adult was a practicing, devout Christian for most of my life. My periods of doubt and even atheism were largely triggered by these horrific accounts in the Bible. Eventually, I realized that I no longer had to ignore my inner sense of right and wrong--nor could I. And I also realized that the God who I worshipped for many years was actually much more loving than the Bible gave credit to him. I found the Quran, and I found Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful...not the angry YHWH of the Bible who ordered babies slaughtered in an unholy sacrifice.

the OT still held back evil in a barbaric society where it was normal to sacrifice your first born son on the fire to Molech.. the Jews were not allowed to go into the promised land until the sin of the amorites had reached its full measure (Genesis 15:16) which would have included child sacrifice... What the Jews did was tame compared to those of the surrounding tribes. WE have the writings and lineage of the very first chrisitan church fathers (ad90-ad300). (David Bercot has done videos & books on them). They did not teach violence because Jesus didnt. In Jeremiah 31:33 in the Old Testament it was prophecied that a better covenant was required, Hebrews 8:10 in the NT claims to be the fullfillment of that. It says that the old covenant is obsolete Hebrews 8:13 and as a result that there had to be a change in the law (Hebrews 7:11). Jesus outlines what those new laws should look like in his new covenant in Matthew 5. He takes the 10 commandments and makes them broader and deeper and a matter of the heart. He says things like, you have heard it said, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth but I say to you, Love your enemies. (Matthew 5:43). The problem was that once christianity got assimilated into the Roman empire so there was no more persecution, everyone got in on the act.. And so called theologians like Augustine (AD400) twisted scripture and chose to ignore the book of Hebrews and tried to say that the killing for apostasy etc still applied from the Mosaic law when the NT makes it clear that it does not. Jesus never taught or used violence. Even at his arrest he refused to let his disciples defend him because he said "My Kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:38).

As a muslim I went to christian schools and until my 20 th year I knew more of the Bible than the Quran. We were more thought about the New Testament and Jesus than about the Old Testament. I never learned about violence of the Holy Bible. At home my parents thought me about a Merciful and forgiven Allah. I never had the urge to become a christian. After my 25th I started reading the Quran myself and learned also about God's greatness. One passage about Abraham opened my eyes of what kind of human I needed to be. God says in the Quran that he loved Abraham so much because of his mercy. He prayed for his sinful father until his dead. This passage thought me what kind of human being we should be in our live. The Quran gives a different view of the prophets and jews than the Old Testament, which I think is more correct than the written history of the kins of Abraham, which in my opinion need not be the word of God, but the word of cruel men.

We have the letters of the very first church fathers ad90-300), John Bercot has done books and videos on them.... They did not teach violence because Jesus did not. Even at his arrest he refused to let his disciples defend him as he said My kingdom is not of this world (John 18:38). Once christianity got assimilated into Rome, the likes of Augustine twisted scripture to say that the Mosaic law (stoning to death for apostasy etc) still applied. Augustine ignored key books like hebrews which said that the NT was a new covenant (hebrews 9:15), that the old covenant was obsolete (Hebrews 8:13) and their had to be a change in the law (Hebrews 7:11) Interestingly they took the scripture in Matthew 5 that says not the least letter of the law will pass away until everything is accomplished to say that that meant the Mosaic law which is exactly what Islam does. But that is to wrench it out of its context and the biblical story. Everything being accomplished is us being put back to how we were before the fall (which muslims dont believe in), to reverse the original spiritual death in the garden so that we have a new desire and power to live it. You must be 'born again'. No-one will see the kingdom of God unless they are born again (John 3:3). Jesus says what that new law should look like, he takes the 10 commandments in Matthew 5 and makes them broader and deaper and a matter of the heart. You cant change your heart, you must be born again. It was prophesied in the OT in Jeremiah 31:33 that God would create a new covenant with us and write his law on our hearts. Hebrews 8:10 claims to be the fullfillment of that. The law on the outside of you can do nothing to help you change therefore a better covenant was required that could achieve that. The true christians were always those who were being martyred...

The violent verses in the Bible are found in the Old Testament which were written centuries before Christ. The Gospel is an improvement on the Old Testament by having a higher revelation of God and rejecting violence. The Quran however is a step backwards into violence and worse. It allows beheadings, the cutting off of hands and feet from alternate sides, and crucifixion as forms of punishment that were never allowed by the Torah.

But back to your logic I say as the Bible in part of it some passages of human history some verses talk about killing for a specific reason in a specific time & of specific persons : we would be naïve to consider it RELIGION. RELIGION is GUIDANCE,VALUES and TOLERANCE . When we read the Bible we're reading History & when we read the Gospels we read Teachings of Jesus : GUIDANCE , TOLERANCE & VALUES . @@NadDew The Old Testament is indeed from God but not the Quran. Muslims are misguided in believing the Jews changed the message of the Torah to suit themselves. The Jewish people are indeed chosen of God for they are descendants of Abraham whom God favored for his faith. The Jews are still favored by God because of Abraham's faith. They were preserved during centuries of persecution and exile to return to their land of Israel because of God's love for Abraham.

Prof. Gary Miller used to give talks on the Bible and Christianity together with Sheik Ahmad Deedat in the 90s mostly in South Africa. Anyways, good work and more power to your effort to shed some light on unnoticed issues important for all God-loving people. If you had the chance to listen to some of Sheik Deedat's lecture on the Bible and Christian theological dilemma, you will realize that most of these incongruences have always been there but nobody dare do a thing about them. Nobody calls for a conference to confront the issues head-on which is unnerving when you think about it because millions of people hang their salvation on such convictions.

Such will not be in Jesus kingdom no matter how much religion they professed... All through the nt it says if you dont walk in love you walk in death... your neighbour is anyone in need even if they are an idolator. Jesus brings that out in the parable of the good samaritan, Samaritans were seen as idolators by the Jews and hated by them. Although I'm not good at remembering the no. of Ahadees, n books, n narrators, but still I managed to quote the names of books of Tafseer from where all that was narrated. Even after then he denied! @@fs5297 nope it isnt. We have the letters of the very first church fathers and how they interpreted scripture, and they did not teach violence. You can get them in a 10 volume set, David Bercot is very good at doing books/videos on them. Because Jesus did not teach violence... Scripture makes it very clear in the book of hebrews that the new testament is a new covenant with new law that over writes the obsolete old covenant. Jesus in Matthew 5 then goes into what the laws of his new covenant look like. He takes the 10 commandments and makes them broader and deeper and a matter of the heart. eg love your enemies.. He also refused to let his disciples defend him at his arrest as he said his kingdom is not of this world John 18:38. But when christianity was assimilated into the roman empire, theologians like Constantine (400ad) tried to say that the mosaic law still applied, that way they had an excuse to kill anyone who they thought was apostate... ...but the bible was still there and its plain meaning if people read it and didnt listen to the authorities...

Hypocrisy?🤔 Well you write big big comments and it still doesn't explain anything, cuz you are denying the simple fact that Mosaic law was never abrogated by Isa ibn Maryam!! You are free to change the approach when it comes to your religion and when it comes to islam. We humans only have each other and religion is putting us into different camps - warring camps. The tendency to believe in supernatural things is the worst part of human nature. There are no angels or devils; only living people/animals. And even if there were, it has no power over us. We are not obliged to worship any gods. But still, as always, people kill other people in the name of something they made up... even calling other human beings daemons. The stupidity, insanity, the exploitation.

He is outlining what the law should look like under his new covenant as the book fo hebrews explains... the OT prophecied in Jeremiah 31:33 that god would create a new covenant and write his law on our hearts so we could be changed from the inside out.... Hebrews 8:10 claims to be the fullfillment of that... the law on the outside of you wont be enough to save you....

I also learned that in Islam the fighting must stop if the other party chooses peace. And to never harm children, Old people, innocent animals. And to never damage or steak property and of course to never rape women of the other army.

The Quran contains many prophecies that have been fulfilled, [1] The first two prophecies are noteworthy: unlike any other world scripture, the Quran prophesizes its own preservation under divine care, and we will demonstrate how it actually occurred. The Protection of the Quran from Corruption The Quran makes a claim no other religious text makes, that God Himself will keep its text safe from alteration. God says: "Behold, it is We Ourselves who have gradually revealed this reminder, and, behold, it is We who shall truly guard it [from all corruption]." (Quran 15:9) The Ease of Memorizing the Quran God has made the Quran easy to memorize: "And in truth We have made the Quran easy to remember; who, then, is willing to take it to heart?" (Quran 54:17) The ease with which Quran is memorized is inimitable. There is not a single scripture or religious text in the world that is as easy to memorize; even non-Arabs and children commit it to memory easily. The entire Quran is memorized by almost every Islamic scholar and hundreds of thousands of ordinary Muslims, generation after generation. Almost every Muslim has some portion of the Quran memorized to read in his prayers. The Twofold Prophecy Before the rise of Islam, the Romans and the Persians were two competing superpowers. Romans were led by Heraclius (610-641 CE), a Christian Emperor, whereas the Persians were Zoroastrians led by Khosrow Parviz (reigned 590-628 CE), under whom the empire achieved its greatest expansion. In 614, the Persians conquered Syria and Palestine, taking Jerusalem, destroying the Holy Sepulcher and the ‘True Cross’ carried to Ctesiphon. Then, in 619, they occupied Egypt and Libya. Heraclius met them at Thracian Heraclea (617 or 619), but they sought to capture him, and he rode madly back to Constantinople, hotly pursued.[2] The Muslims were grieved by the Roman defeat as they felt spiritually closer to Christian Rome than Zoroastrian Persia, but the Meccans were naturally buoyed up by the victory of pagan Persia. To Meccans, the Roman humiliation was a sinister omen of the defeat of the Muslims at pagan hands. At the time God’s prophecy comforted the faithful: "The Romans have been defeated - in a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious- within ten years. With God is the Decision, in the past and in the future: on that Day shall the believers rejoice with the help of God. He helps whom He will, and He is the Mighty, the Most-Merciful." (Quran 30:2-5) The Quran made a prophecy of two victories: (i) The future Roman victory within ten years over Persians, something unimaginable at the time (ii) The joy of the faithful on a victory over the pagans Both of these prophecies actually occured. In 622, Heraclius left Constantinople as prayers rose from its many sanctuaries for victory over the Persian Zoroastrians and the reconquest of Jerusalem. He devoted the next two years to campaigns in Armenia. In 627, he met the Persians near Nineveh. There, he killed three Persian generals in single combat, killed the Persian commander, and scattered the Persian host. A month later, Heraclius entered Dastagird with its stupendous treasure. Khosrow was overthrown by his son, who made peace with Heraclius. Returning to Constantinople in triumph, Heraclius was hailed as a hero.[3] Also, in the year 624 AH, Muslims defeated the Meccans in the first and decisive Battle at Badr. In the words of an Indian scholar: "…a single line of prophecy was related to four nations and the fate of two great empires. All this proves the Holy Quran to be the Book of God."[4] The Prophecy of Pagan Defeat The Quran predicted the defeat of unbelievers in Mecca while Prophet Muhammad and his followers were still being persecuted by them: "Or do they (the Meccan disbelievers) say: ‘We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?’ Their multitude will be defeated, , and they shall turn their backs [in flight]!" (Quran 54:45) The prophecy was revealed in Mecca, but was fulfilled at the Battle of Badr, two years after the Prophet’s migration to the city of Medina. The Fate of Specific Individuals Waleed ibn Mugheera was a staunch enemy who openly ridiculed the Quran: "Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; this is nothing but the word of a mortal!" (Quran 74:24-25) The Quran prophesized he will never accept Islam: "Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? It leaves naught nor does it spare aught." (Quran 74:26-28) Waleed died in a state of disbelief as prophesized by the Quran. Also, concerning Abu Lahab, a fiery opponent of Islam, the Quran foretold he will die opposing the religion of God: "May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and [indeed] he has perished. His wealth and gains will not profit him. He will be plunged in flaming Fire." (Quran 111:1-3) Specifically, three prophecies were made about Abu Lahab: (i) The conspiracies of Abu Lahab against the Prophet would not succeed. (ii) His wealth and children would not benefit him. (iii) He would die opposing God’s religion and enter the Fire. Abu Lahab also died in a state of disbelief as prophesized by the Quran. Had Waleed or Abu Lahab accepted Islam even outwardly, they would have disproved its prophecies and thus its heavenly source! In addition, Abu Lahab had four sons, two of whom died at a young age during his lifetime. The other two sons and a daughter embraced Islam and frustrated his hopes! Finally, he died of a plague; people would not touch his body out of fear of contamination and dumped mud and stones on him where he died to make it his grave. A key foundation to believing that a scripture is actually a revelation of God is internal truth, whether it be in regards to occurrences in the past, to come in the future, or in contemporary ages. As one can see, there are many prophecies mentioned in that which is to come, some of which were fulfilled in the Prophet’s lifetime, or have been fulfilled since his death, while others are yet to appear

(2) Read: And your Lord is the Most Generous, (3) Who taught by the pen, (4) Taught man that which he knew not.” (Bukhari 4953)...the intention of this verse to order Muhammad and all humanity to think and to learn...this started the miracle of Quran...and this blogging theology is part of learning process...keep study Quran brother...

Do you accept the Quran is violent however less violent it might than the Bible?

The Qur'an's violence is only for self defense or wars and battles against the polytheists, it wouldn't be "violent." The Bible has meaningless violence and sometimes no mercy to human beings.
Was Jesus crucified? What does the Qur'an actually say?
