Ashley didn't give away 10,000 season tickets because people found something better to do, he gave away 10,000 half season tickets when loyal fans were pushed to desperate measures and began canceling their season tickets half way through the season in an organized boycott of Ashleys ownership, which was a key driver in forcing Ashley to sell the club. To say Geordies 'found something better to do', is an absolute disgrace to this superior fan base.

Any owner who is privileged enough to take control of a communities prized asset has a responsibility to that community to ensure the club is properly run and at the very least reasonably funded with the profits the fanbase generates. They have a lot of players they had before the takevover still playing. Wilson, Wilcock, Almiron, Murphy, Schar, Longstaff, Joelinton, Richie, Dummett… not sure who I’m missing, maybe more. New signings all been pretty modest and savvy. Eddie Howe has done wonders last season getting them into Top 4 with a team consisting primarily of players who were facing relegation the season before. I think Trippier has been an instrumental addition also, it’s no wonder was awarded the captains armband so quickly. Scary to imagine what they will be capable of once the owners actually start flexing their deep pockets. 🤔

So many of the world's biggest clubs do sponsorship deals with Gulf nations. Arsenal supporters slag us off about PIF while having Emirates on the front of their shirts and they play at Emirates Stadium. Saudi Telecom is one of Man United's oldest business partners and they did a new deal with Saudi in 2017. Real Madrid and Benfica - Emirates sponsored shirts. It's the business of world football these days. Not saying it's right or that I agree with it but that's how it is.

Apparently the suits have said we can't afford anyone unless we risk getting a points penalty and we would have to sell our best players on to create profits and then continue this process. But some clubs can buy in players and stick them on 8yr contracts until the rules are changed and they don't have any punishment. Funny they're one of the clubs who tried holding the sport to ransom a few years ago and again, weren't given a suitable punishment for that either. Still, they're alright with their billions that mean they won't struggle under FFP rules....

Here is the number one reason why The Rise of Newcastle United is unstoppable. (Or rather the rebirth). Newcastle are the original sleeping giant. As man utd were when they won their first title in 25plus years in 1992 under the great sir Alex. Newcastle were the most successful club in England behind Aston Villa in 1971 having won more trophies than any other team. Well, their wait has been longer than Man Utd's but it has been agonisingly painful. With their waiting list and demand for season tickets let alone tickets sold on the day the stadium could if it was big enough be full every week with 80-90 thousand fans. This can be ratified when counting the 40,000 applications for a small amount of season tickets available last year. This sleeping giant has awoken and when it wakes it wont go back to sleep. Everyone watch out it's their time now.

The narrative that fans and local media are enjoying is English manager, mainly English talent, local lads and boyhood fans in the team, and half a dozen players that floundered under Bruce, Benitez and McClaren getting a new lease of life. To most Newcastle fans, the Saudi side of things is an irrelevance. Yes we put up with the oil money and sportswashing jibes, when in reality, because of FFP, Newcastle had far less to spend than most Premier League sides due to chronic underinvestment by Ashley. The board bought wisely, got a great (and underrated at the time) manager in Eddie Howe along with Trippier and Guimares. They poached Chris Woods off Burnley and ironically sealed Burnley's fate and relegation. Then performed a miracle in climbing away from the relegation zone from a losing proposition no other team had achieved. The following season they qualified for the Champions League, 5 years ahead of the 10 year plan!

I don’t care about Chelsea either 😂 it is funny how many city fans forget why they are where they are and forget where they came from. My point is Newcastle if allowed could buy city about 50 times over. Of course they will succeed. The money now is ludicrous. As for city you will be the first to point out how much Chelsea have spent after your lot are found guilty. It isn’t 1 or 2 charges. It’s not even on an Everton level. Hundreds of charges against city. So for all city fans say “we are a well run club” you’re not. It’s inflated. Let Newcastle have their go at spending in the way you have and they would make you look like you can’t afford a bag of chips. Hence they would be the best team by a mile which is where city are currently, and I am happy to admit that. City are easily the best club right now.

All I am saying as as previous when you’re found guilty the tune will change cos it “won’t be fair”. From my perspective I’d just like to see Newcastle be allowed to spend what they like as well, it’s the only way a team can compete with city, by doing the same thing they have done.

NUFC are not following the so called " blueprint of Manchester City" NUFC is simply pick up ideas that are working for others and hence, will or should work for them. They see ideas that work to the benefit of the club and ignore the failures that other clubs made. And they already have as you put it "a Pep Guadiola" and his name is Eddie Howe.

Exactly, that's why Chelsea have the youngest squad in the PL despite having the oldest player in the PL [ Thiago 39 ]. It's also why Chelsea are signing all the best 17/18 year old Brazilians for relative peanuts, £10-£15 M. Including Santos who they got for £12 million and is already a full Brazilian international at 18. Got around 5/6 of these kids on the books, only needs 1 of them to reach their potential then Chelsea will treble their investment on the whole group. Scary times ahead when Poch gets this young team up and running, he normally takes around 6 months to get everyone fit enough and clued up how he wants them to play. So like Newcastle, Chelsea well ahead of schedule.

The rise that's being talked about here, to becoming a 'superclub', is exactly what Tottenham have managed to do, although it's never been acknowledged despite what a huge achievement taking that step undoubtedly is. What we're talking about is joining the upper echelon, the top table of English football, + establishing that place with consistent Champion's League qualification if not one of the other European competitions. For a long time there 5 of these clubs, Chelsea + City being the 2 most recent members both on the back of huge foreign investment. A bunch of clubs, all similar size with equal potential, quite frankly have been left far behind us, the progress Tottenham have made in the past 10 - 15 years is greater than any other club in the league bar none, remarkable development including the new stadium + not a foreign investment group in sight. There are 6 clubs in the top tier these days, Tottenham have firmly established their place, a huge achievement but one you might not have noticed. I guess it's understandable how little credit is given for such a sizeable success, Newcastle are only one club who don't have any excuse for being left behind, unable to keep up with the meteoric rise, but far from being alone. Tottenham's development + growth of the football club, puts a whole lot of clubs to shame + their congratulations isn't important, moving in the right direction, however, is, + that's what Spurs have been doing. Up, in case you weren't sure, up is the right direction, it's not the only way, in spite of what the song says. It's the way to go in football, the alternative can be a disaster + it requires no effort at all sometimes, you can do nothing at all + end up going down, it's a shame you can't fall up, just the other way. Last thing, if you could all stand up + clap, we'll have an ovation for Tottenham, you don't have to miss out, you can right that wrong, it's a feat the Premiership has only seen once, it's clearly not easy or it would have been done before + as for doing it again, if Newcastle are anything to go by, you don't want to hold your breath in the meantime......... that will get uncomfortable, the source of the foreign money might already be doing that for you?.....?....... We didn't have any such concerns, you don't have to sell your soul to anyone, every other club has done so but on top of everything else, Tottenham proved you don't have to. If you're not standing up + have a credible reason for it, I'd like to hear it.......... Envy isn't a good reason, just in case you were wondering, green's not a good look, either........ The Saudi's might argue that one, they know how to find me........ I will retract that statement, if asked to, like Lord Lucan, gone, you only need ask. Keepers only, could wear green, once upon a time........ Not one of the most notable changes in the game to take place in the modern era, I doubt it was noted at all by many people........... didn't get past me, though. You might be surprised the sort of things that can slip by football fans, they can be quite big, significant things + it's like they never happened. It just so happens one example springs to my mind that just about perfectly exemplifies that very situation. So, Tottenham, you know them, obviously.........................................

I am, of course, taking the piss, if you did read what I wrote, you may as well not have bothered as you clearly failed to grasp what I was on about. I've already answered your question but I didn't provide pictures, which I now regret but at the time of writing I imagined an adult, literate audience. 'You still lose your best players...........' What team doesn't, who do you support??? Real Madrid??? If some other club will pay your guy more, he's off! It happens a lot at Spurs, I'll give you that, it's a 'problem' that comes with great players so it goes without saying, it's a problem Spurs will have to deal with on a regular basis. Do as well as you can out of it, is all you can do, we have done a lot of the time. They're not cheap, these great players, + we don't sell them cheap, far from it, they're f expensive! Reassuringly so......... Anyway, if you made this far, well done, did anything sink in??? Maybe just go with the overall message, that's all you really need to know. 'I'm right!' City fan from 1989 here with experience on this subject! We made mistakes, Newcastle have made less than we did but the one, crucial thing we got right in the end was the manager. I think Eddie is a good manager but you need more than that if you are to become that super club. Only now City have won the champions league do I consider us at the top table. Not in my wildest dreams in 2008 did I think what has happened would become reality! Yet it did and if the same happens to Newcastle, your in for one hell of a ride!
