I bought an Hymalayan last may and after 6000 miles I never got any troubles, Honestly, I'm very Happy with this Adventure bike and I wouldn't change for a more powerfull one. I don't care about performances, the purpose of this bike is riding cool , watching the world behind your sunglass and enjoying the very moment of Life ! That's why I love my Hymalayan 😊

I own a BS6 beauty and recently did 1500+ Kms. It was mostly through mountains and bad roads and I can tell the power is sufficient in those terrains. A 650 might have thrown me out of the turns, where I was doing 60-70 kmph turns. Loved it, just wish it had a more deeper exhaust note somewhat similar to Greasehouse exhaust.

I remember getting a bmw 1150r and reading about how bad they were. The shaft drive was going to fail, the rear wheel was going to break loose via a faulty pin and another issue I can't remember. Never happened and turns out, yes some early versions did have an issue which is bad but only if you road in certain conditions such as tons of water crossings which people forgot to mention when they complained about them. Mechanical things are fine until they aren't. Fix them and keep going. Ride on!

The power shouldn't be an issue if it's meant for touring or just getting to work. I travel the world (okay, really just Europe, Siberia and parts of Northern Africa) on my ancient BMW K75 and never use its full 75PS to the maximum. It's not speed I'm interested in on such trips, it's the scenery, freedom and adventure. I'm now seriously thinking of getting an Himalayan seeing as my old BMW, as sturdy and reliable as it is, is not good on gravel and sand. And I also really need a bike with tubes in the tyres that can be repaired much better when punctured. That is a real issue with tubeless tyres, they can be plugged for a while, but that doesn't last long.
