Camper we’re viewing today is a 2024 Lance 1172 with a retail price drop from $94k to $82k. $12k, WOW! This model is also Lance’s largest current truck camper featuring two total slides, gifting you a couch availability in the rear slide. This is also Lance’s only SIDE ENTRY camper in current production.

While attending the Tampa RV show, I was struck with surprise by how incredibly spacious and usable these Lance truck bed campers are! I stepped into an 855s WITH A DAM SLIDEOUT dining table and even an Onan generator... in the bed of a truck! To think these things can stand on their own legs for storage (say easily in your back yard) and then "become a part of your truck" is really amazing / appealing. I would TOTALLY buy one of these JUST TO GO SOLO CAMPING without having to worry about the usual 5th wheel/trailer hassles: backing in a rig, trailer sway, how to get into the chickfila parking lot for lunch while on the drive... I genuinely had NO IDEA Truck Campers were still a thing and that they were so nice! I love this! #adventure #freedom

We have a 2021 Lance 1172 on a 2020 F-350 4x4 dually. We added Air Lift 7500 airbags and the rig drives and rides great. Last August we left our home in north Texas and made a month long, 5,800 mile trip to California, up the Pacific Coast Highway to northern Oregon and made our way home. We camped in 22 different locations and a lot of that was in national forests. Our camper is built like a tank and we really enjoy the ability to get around much more easily than pulling the fifth wheel we used to own. We highly recommended Lance Campers. And as far as the 3-way refrigerator goes, we’ve had no issues with ours. We run it on the auto setting and it chooses the best option on its own.

Great review! I had a 3 way in my 2021 975 as well, worked great! But I only ran mine on gas and electric. Only took one time of running on battery for me to learn, it drew them dead within hours. I also had dual lithium batteries and dual solar panels, still no match for the fridge.

@@itsbrad You’re right about running it on 12V all the time. We have solar and two 100AH lithium batteries as well. We always check to make sure we’re on propane when we’re boondocking. Either way, 2-way or 3-way fridge, you can’t go wrong. The one thing I want to emphasize about Lance is the construction is as solid as you’ll find!

We bought an 850 from Brad, i can vouch for his BSRP 😂 much much off MSRP of course. Fish and fun was the essiest dealer to work with, im not even sure they made anything with his price. Im sure they did, but i don't know how, but i won't disclose our price beacuse options, year and so forth.

@itsbrad Of course we'll stop by and show you all the upgrades we've done. A full Victron Cerbo GX controlled power system. 4 100ah Battle Born LiFePo batteries, the compartment was modified to accept them. A Victron Multiplus 3000 inverter under the rear dinette seat. 800 watts Rich Solar. It was all a very tight fit but works flawlessly. No generator needed, oh yeah 30 amps continuous from the truck when attached through a Victron DC to DC converter. Yeah you need to see this camper.

No flood, we just had 5” of snow that immediately turned to ice due to 6 degree weather. I waited a few day to do a video so I didn’t bust my bottom on the lot lol still did almost lol

Personal opinion, I think once you get into this weight and size, you're better off getting a trailer. The benefit of a truck slide-in is when you can be as compact as possible to get to more remote places and away from the crowd.

Just my personal experience, may be a little off, but should be close comparison. I’ve never owned a Lance 1172 like this one (my boss has), but I did have the 975. Two steps below this one but only a 400lb weight difference between the two and still required the same long bed dually truck. Was still able to use it for its intended purpose, still goes anywhere the truck goes and gives you more grip over the rear wheels due to the weight (use it to your advantage). Still able to haul our boat behind it as well with a 48” supertruss. Currently I have a smaller Lance pull behind and although some people do prefer them, after starting in a truck camper, it’s hard for me to be happy with the pull behind. Thus, why I have it up for sale. This is just my personal preference though, I prefer the “carefree pack up and go” type camper over the pull behind. But like I said, they’re definitely not for everyone, and I’m thankful Lance makes both TC’s and TT’s so we can try and cater to everyone!

Brad as usual a great video! Use my 1172 on F450 regular cab and it’s a go anywhere unit! The best combo for towing my 7000lbs of Atv’s/SxS along! Brad is best Rv review in all of KZbin!!!

@@realistic.optimist No my F450 has 6208 lb capacity in the bed. My 1172 scales at 5608 wet! No problems at all.

@@realistic.optimist technically I was over with my 2021 975. Did I care? No. May not be the pc response, but we had the same optioned truck in a 2017 F350 dually and needed bags and stable loads for a truck that supposedly had 800lbs more payload capacity then our 2022 Ford F450. Both trucks had 6.7 diesel, 4x4, fx4, platinum, camper package. But yet they don’t rate the 450 any higher to keep it in a certain licensing category. No one will ever convince me that that 350 we had truly had a higher payload lol Gas engine and base model will get you more payload on the sticker, but I wouldn’t trade the diesel engine and comforts for it. Hope this helps

Actually yes, so I have sold to Canada several times! Mainly our Ranger boats, but a Truck Camper as well. Even New Zealand once (they had everything set up where they would have it shipped back on a ferry). Most people who visit us from out of state (or country) decide to make a little vacation out of it as we have a campground 2 miles down the road from our Dealership (Chester Frost Park). We would have you come in to pick up camper and install truck equipment (Torklift, Airbags, Stableloads, Sway Bar) if needed. While my techs are installing your truck equipment, we go over the camper, how to work it and such, and do paperwork. I currently have one 1172 and one new as well as one used 975 in stock right now. If I don’t have what you want, I can always place a custom order for you. I make sure to treat everyone fairly on price as well. People tend to have a lot of fun traveling to pick their camper up and having it to enjoy and make stops on the way back home! Thanks for watching, I truly appreciate it!

Hi Brad, I not sure if your still reading comments on this video but I have a question. If the slides in your camper malfunction or brake, can you manually get them out? I’m worried if I buy a camper with a slide and something happens and I can’t get the slide out is my trip ruined. I love your videos by the way. You have a cute personality.

Yes, there are manual overrides in place where you’ll be able to retract and extract the slides if you do happen to have slide or battery malfunction. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoy!

I’m not sure what to make of this comment.. yes it’s heavier, it’s bigger lol. As for payload, that’s why you buy a truck to haul what you plan to buy. I’d be curious to see what a NL 9-6 actually weighs on the scale though.

2,950 is what the internet advertises, all camper manufacturers list absolute bottom line weight, but once you add the optional equipment they’re much heavier then you’d realize. I’d like to see the actual dry weight with all the options people get on a scale, there’s no way it’s exactly 2,950 lol

they are weighed as they leave the factory, one of the few manufacturers that do, and I didn't state "exactly" 2950, but since you asked the net says 2825 lbs, but it weighed 1295 KG or 2849 LBS, AT COMPLETION OF THE BUILD. I was going by the weight of 2,950 listed on NL website, wasn’t directing that comment towards you, apologies for not clearing that up. Back to the truck tho, I had a 975 that I put in a 450 and was over payload with it by around 600-700lbs. Even 1,000lbs if it was full of water. The sticker payload on that thing was an absolute joke lol it rode, handled, and stopped great, you’d never be able to tell. Our 350 we had at the dealership had close to 1100lbs more payload capacity since it was a lighter truck, so it would’ve been within its “limits”. I think the stickers are just a big safety cushion for the manufacturers, not what the trucks can actually handle. Always thought you’d gain more sticker by going 450 lol
