I'm sticking with my base M1 mac mini with 16 GB RAM and 2tb storage. It's more than powerful enough for 99% of the population.

I got my M4 Mac Mini yesterday and also don't like that there is no USB A port. Otherwise, it's great. Powerful and rich sounding speaker.

Just buy usb c adapters.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those are thunderbolt four ports no? I believe the thunderbolt five ports only come on the Mac mini Pro.

The power button on the bottom actually could be a really good thing. I never thought about mounting it under my desk. If I did that, then it would be super nice. I am actually currently trying to figure out how to mount my Mac Studio under my desk without having to drill anything into my desk.
@thejasontlewis2 ай бұрын
There are some under desk mounts for the Studio. I have one. It has small screws. I don’t think I’d trust adhesive to hold it.

There are KZbin videos of tear downs. the SSD is removable. It's easy to take apart. Unified memory btw

The NAND is removable. It’s not an SSD per say: the controller is part of the M4. But yea, this gives long term hope.

Plus there is a replacement battery accessible as soon as the base is removed.

3:52 I got one of these coming but I might also get some of those Sticky clear bumpers to stick on the bottom to grip it

Thought it’s TB4 on the smaller mini? Isn’t TB5 only if you bump up to M4 Pro?

You’re right. That was my mistake.

Yeah, but the fan barely spins. Similar to the Studio or other unibody models.

Really tough to beat this for the price, assuming you already have compatible peripherals

I need like 1TB minimum so this is pretty low. Also why is the power button on the underside?
@thejasontlewis2 ай бұрын
Someone pointed out that a lot of people mount these under the desk and that placement makes it easier to reach. I honestly think it’s easier to locate it blind placed there than flush to the back side.

@@thejasontlewis Make sense. I would just put it on the front.

Really nice video! I have few queries, right now I am using Windows PC (Ryzen 5 2600x) which is quite old. I do graphic designing (using Adobe apps) and video editing (some time podcast editing which has 3 camera shots of 1080p videos). I was thinking of upgrading my PC and then Mac Mini M4 launched! Considering Mac's performance consistency and durability, I was thinking of switching to Mac Mini M4. Since you are a mac mini user, can you please guide me. - Should I upgrade my Windows PC or switch to Mac Mini M4 or Mac Mini M4 Pro? Which one is better in terms of performance, dependibility and consistency? - My system upgrade cycle is generally at least 5-6 years. - I don't have AC in my work room and when I was planning for PC, I was thinking of putting Liquid Cooler or better CPU fan. - Do you think, Mac Mini M4 or M4 Pro should work fine without AC or it may heat up while editing videos? Does Mac Mini M4 heats up while rendering or opening multiple apps with 100+ tabs open in Firefox (or any browser)? - Also, should I go for M4 or M4 Pro with 24GB RAM and 512GB SSD because I can't upgrade it later? Please share your mac mini experience and if you think of any other important points as compared to Windows PC user, please share your thoughts here or cover it in your review. I will wait for your detailed review. Thanks a lot, buddy! Note: Subscribed & Liked the video!

I edit daily on a Ryzen thredripper 1950x, I’m also looking at the M4 Pro but I think the lack of ports, storage etc would just make daily work difficult when a Tower has so much internal capacity, especially multiple m.2 internal drive bays. I also think the M4 Pro is GPU limited for any serious work. Maybe wait for the M4 Max or Ultra?

As an older lady it pisses me off they dont give you USB-A ports...even my M1 doesnt have enough...cmon apple why do you do this??? every other mini computer has tons of ports...

Even new cars offer only usb-c. Time to move on. Plus, there are tiny accessories to be able to use usb-a devices if need be 😉

SDD is removable but not replaceable unless you enjoy soldering your own nand chips.

@ I didn’t say it was replaceable but it is replaceable from a different Mac Mini or Studio
