@@IronsitePistols, so could you substantiate some of what you are saying? What do you think that I am trying to say? I gave a positive comment to S&W M&Ps, do you understand what I wrote?

@@IronsitePistols, 1- it was a compliment because rental pistols are treated like rented mules. If M&Ps are doing well in that environment, then that speaks volumes. 2- why are you jumping to bazaar conclusions about somebody that you thought you disagreed with on gun preferences? 3- what is "IdahoSnek 9mm"? I don't get the reference.

@@kingbaldwiniv5409 Agreed on the rental mule analogy. I've seen some rentals so dirty and so worn that I was surprised when they functioned. Feels like the car rental places that fill up the radiator reservoir half way with coolant and leave nails in the tire lol.

My 2010 Built M&P9L has got at least 70000 round thru it. I say at least because I have loaded over 70 boxes of 1000 projectiles. My reloads are 138 IPSC Power factor so they are not light loads. It has had an apex trigger in it for roughly 4 years on and off. It has only had the slide lock lever changed and roughly 60000 Rounds everything else is original. Accuracy has not changed from new, reliability is like new and its barely worn anywhere. I have slight holder where in the scallops on front of slide and finger wear on the slide cuts at the rear. Truly my favorite gun, an unbelievable firearm that never lets me Down

I have one in .40 S&W I shot for 4 years in USPSA limited class. 60,000 rounds later it still runs like a champ and I absolutely abused that gun. Nothing broke and it never failed to function. I recommend M&Ps to anyone looking to buy a pistol.

@Euge Garmendia Arteabaro Clearly...Thank you internet gun genius for clarifying the ignorance I have for my own gun...if you are referring to the pressure of .40 being hard on the gun causing wear and/or failures, remember I said USPSA...I am shooting loads that are way below SAAMI specs for pressure at the 168 power factor mark...but clearly I can't compare with your vast experience and knowledge about my gun. Thank you for enlightening me.

S&W really did an excellent job designing the 1.0’s then they started getting fancy with 2.0 and charging more money. Pointless because the 1.0 are solid guns. The M&P9 C 1.0 is very accurate for a smaller gun. Great video 👍

I’d like to point out there is a video documenting the Glocks used at this range… With more pistols and more rounds averaged in the Glocks had way more parts breakages or part replacement in them than the M&P’s in less rounds than these M&P examples

I love my M&Ps! Both mine are M2.0 pistols and I have nowhere near the rounds through mine that your rentals have through them, but I've not experienced a single failure of any parts, and have somewhere around 3k rounds through my 9mm 4" Compact, and twice that many through my .45 Shield, and no failures that weren't ammo related. I love my M&P pistols, how they feel in the hand, how they shoot, and their reliability. My .45 Shield is my EDC, and the 9mm is my home defense pistol.

About a month ago I did some soul searching. At the time I had Glock full size in .40 gen4 and a newer G19 gen 5. Having an M&P full size 1.0, 9c and a Shield .40 with Hogue grip sleeve plus a few other brands . Put them all out on the bed and grabbed each using different grips and either hand. Although I like Glocks I ended up selling both and keeping the rest. M&P just felt better in terms of grip and balance. The "others", a 2.0 compact in .40 , a Springfield EMP4 and a Sig 1911 in .45.

Own an M&P Shield and 2 Glocks .. carry the Shield more and used it to defend myself once in a burglary at my home.. I like all of them.. some preference for the M&P Shield because it has a safety (I work in a hospital and must arm/disarm in my car a lot since we cannot carry in the hospital.. IWB holsters are scary in cars so I like the added protection of the safety) .. no issues except the Shield slide is harder to rack..

I have a Gen 1 full sized .45 well worn and owned by an avid shooter so mine second hand. I keep pretty decent records since I reload. Two failures due to deep primers on reloads so no fault of the gun and a bit more then 4,800rds without any other failures. (A couple poorly seated magazines when I first got it though). I’m actually looking at a gem 2.0 in 9mm or even .40 since I complete and they are pretty cheap with loads of available parts that make the trigger amazing but at a significant cost increase. (My .45 came with night sights but is otherwise stock).

If I lived in the US I would 100% be an M&P guy (especially the 2.0). More ergonomic than Glocks, cheaper, and with the Apex trigger kit is light years better to shoot than a Glock. It’s also the one line that stands toe to toe with Glock in terms of weight, size, and reliability for the cost (other equally or more reliable guns also cost much more than both). It’s also quite a bit cheaper. Though it loses in aftermarket support and parts, it can hold its own. Unfortunately in my country M&Ps actually cost much more than the equivalent Glock and doesn’t have nearly as much aftermarket support.

@@andrew8248 I bought one used around 10ish years ago and had problems with the grip safety. I tend to turn the pistol slightly in my hand sometimes when dropping and seating a mag or operating the slide and about every other time it'd be enough to lock the slide up on me. I let a buddy shoot it and he didn't have a problem with it so I sold it to him. I haven't bought another one since and probably won't because there are so many other pistols that are as good as or better that don't have a grip safety. Even if they dropped the grip safety I'm not sure I would buy anything from Springfield Armory after that political back stabbing stunt they pulled a few years ago.

I recall there being a documented case where someone shot one, and it ricochet off and hit the shooter. Also, is an armadillo that much of a threat? They are mostly blind, and at most, just make noise rustling around in the dry leaves...

I have a S&W Performance center core. I've put well over 5k through it and never had a malfunction. I shoot 147 grain brass cased ammo only. I don't mess with steel ammo. Never have, never will unless it is a Russian-type gun and Russian-type ammo.

Is there any early predictions on the 2.0 series? And I bought the 40c - any idea if the extra 'abuse' from the 40 will significantly alter its reliability?

@@NOLATAC Thanks. I assumed the 40 was less used... but it probably has more rounds than the one I bought 1 month ago [about 200 rounds so far].

I would think the 40 models hold up good since the M&P was designed for the 40 round originally.
