Is The Sony a6000 Worth It In 2024?!

Still doing astrophotography on Sony a6000 and absolutely love it. People are suprised when I tell them 90% of milkyway timelapses on my channel are shot with an a6000

I upgraded from my a6000 recently but couldn't bring myself to sell it so now it's my second camera body. It's such a great little camera, I still use it for some street photography & the 11fps is so useful for that!

I know same! I don’t want to bin mine either! It’s so battered that it won’t be worth anything but it means a lot to me so I’ll be keeping it 😂

I shoot all my videos on the a6000 - definitely miss the 4k functionality and 10bit colour. I make do by leaning into the rough around the edges style of it. Nice vid man

I last week got a a6000 for 2300sek=211USD! Had the 18-55 and 55-210 kit lenses with a a3000 for 137usd. Im selling the a3000 for 50USD.

If your going to shoot video and stills I'd recommend the a6700. If your shooting photos the a6000 works great.

How did you blow up the video to 4K?

In the 4k timeline for this video I just imported the 1080 video and changed the scale to 200% 🫶

My brain says «get a cheap 6000 or 6100 just to free up the phone» and my heart says «hold off and save up for the 6700 or whatever is out when you have enough cash cause the flipup screen and battery life will annoy you» … right now the heart is winning and the phone will have to do ;) Did borrow an a6100 a couple of months ago, quality is really nice, it’s just that annoying screen and the batterylife.

I agree with you! I reckon you should hold off for now. I must say your videos have come a long way. Lighting, editing and storytelling is dope. Other people seem to feel the same as your last two vids broke 1k views! Awesome stuff mate ⚡️

@@jettreels Thanks man, much appreciated :) Yeah, the last video on the speed editor broke 2.3k this morning in just 3 days, and the original Dji Mic 2 video just passed 2.7k although 3 months old so I’ve obviously learned *something* from your videos ;)

Unfortunately it isn’t worth it it’s better to get the a6400 or even the a6100 at least. I made that grave mistake recently watching all these yt videos talking about how good it still is and then buying it and getting disappointed by the performance. I have since upgraded to the a6400 and sold the a6000.

but the a6000 is cheaper, sometimes 400$+ cheaper than the a6400! so it depends on the budget.
