Thar Rox needs to be tested in Moab, Utah to really know it’s capability as an off-roader to compete on the takes of wrangler, bronco or Land Rover’s.

Won't do as well as the Bronco, as it doesn't have the clearance, or the tyre size, or a front diff lock, or a disconnecting front anti-roll bar, but it is still very capable. That user selectable locker by itself makes a massive difference. It is philosophically not an off-roader though. It's a pose mobile. Or Mahindra would have given it 16 or 17 inch wheels with proper tyres at least 33, if not 35 inches tall. You don't make hardcore off-roaders with 19 inch wheels wrapped in rubber-band highway terrain tyres. I'm sorry. You don't.

@@darshanshivaswamy8977 Sure, but if you really want to make it off-road capable you also need to change wheels out. They're too big. And yes, you could lift it, but lifting an IFS vehicle doesn't actually give you any more clearance without a lot of cost and effort. Watch Tinkerer's Adventure's YT video on this topic.

@ I do follow tinkerer adventure. I have modified my GX470 which is IFS with 3 inch Eibach lift kit with 33 inch Tires and 17inch wheels and have taken to off-road trails.

The first-gen Thar was an off-roader trying to be an SUV, while the Roxx is an SUV trying to be an off-roader. It’s perfect for family guys or those who love to show off with size!

in the worst terrains and mountain jungles of nallamalla forest the old jeep commanders can ferry 11 ppl and still climb offroad trails like a piece of cake so this has that DNA as well❤

The only thing bad about this SUV is looks. Mahindra tried hard to keep the look close as wrangler yet tried to be different at some places which actually made it bad. Look at side profile it looks like an extended wagon similar to jeep we had in villages years ago. The last quater glass is so odd and roof lining makes it look like tempo. Still I feel 3 door Thar is better in terms of looks.

Yeah it is. That user selectable rear locker is the big feature (which obviously you never used) land only one that matters. Unless you love tearing up trails by dragging wheels to turn tight. The question I have is that why does an "off-roader" have 19 inch wheels and road tyres? It is for posers, isn't it. A Ford Bronco is a proper off-roader with IFS and a boxy body shape. You can spec them with 17 inch wheels and 35 inch tyres from the factory. The Raptor gets 37s. What are we doing here? That thing should have 16s or 17s wrapped in 33s. 285/70R17 should be the standard size on 4x4 Thars.

You can get 17-in or 18-in wheels depending on the variant.

No..!! It’s almost as similar as the Force Traxx with modern features & 4x4 and a body design of the Marshal mixed with the Armada. Would rather buy a Thar 3-door or a Jimny😎
