The Tokarev barrel is actually 18.5”, not 16”. Anything below 18” on a shotgun would make it an NFA weapon.

I bought a Tokarev TBP 12 back in Aug. BREAK-IN IS KEY!!! Lock the bolt open for a few days before firing. Take it apart, oil it before shooting it. I ran 2 3/4" #7,8,9 birdshot at 1200+fsp. The gun ran flawless! From all the forums anything less will not cycle properly during break-in. I'll be running federal premium vital-shok truball rifled slug 1300 fps (low recoil) through it primarily going forward. Not running 1600+fps slugs...like my shoulder! Also RIA 12ga mags fit this gun. RIA and Tokarev are made in the same factory. Mag release is my only complaint but for the price I'll get over it.

Yeah the recoil on this is kinda excessive. I guess since it’s a bullpup shotgun there’s no recoil damping like there would a traditional semi auto? My pump 12guage isn’t as bad.

The charging handle on it makes a big difference. It also has interstates built in sights that are sleek. I love the bullpup designs I think they are awesome honestly.

I have this one with marine silver finish ..i really like this deep army green color too it looks good..the gun ranges here in Charlotte NC only allow slugs to be shot out of a shotgun,w which usually 1600fps and over..so now im gonna have to switch to the heavy load piston which is required for that velocity..watching another video of the teardown to get to the piston cup it looks like a bich' of a job because EVERYTHING has to come off to get to it..but being the daredevil i am,i took a chance and fired 5 slug rounds thru it when i first got it to see if could handle them with the regular piston and it cycled well no issues..although im still gonna chage it out when i get time and use only slugs from here out to be on the safe side..these things are known to have catastrophic failures or explosions
@theincendiaryavocado Жыл бұрын
I don’t know if I said it in the video or not but there is a braking procedure with the standard piston. You’re supposed to shoot 50 shots of regular caliber ammo through it slugs of some sort before you switch the high caliber piston I do wish the sides were bigger because it is a shotgun, not a rifle I doubt I’m ever gonna shoot the shotgun toward the range of 100 yards
@investmentsound902 Жыл бұрын
@@theincendiaryavocado yes exactly. its definitely not designed for sharpshooting long range..more for up close combat or home defense..so i usually practice on targets around 25 feet which it still isnt super accurate on.. I've been trying to find slugs that are lower than 1600 FPS and when i do I'll definitely try that 50 shot method to break it in as ive yet to change out the piston..but so far ive had her sitting with the charging handle locked back the last couple months which ive heard improves shooting too as it breaks in the spring some..thanks for the info👍

i know it would add weight and "complexity" but would a small steel cable, a bracket, "mag release trigger", and cam lobe and its mounting hardware. would that work? i already made it in my head, basically a cam lobe controlled by a secondary trigger or lever? that pushes the mag release button since electronics would be WAY more bulky. I do REALLY want to get this weapon system I think it would be optimal for my house as it was built in the 30s and is.... a lil narrow for a full size one. Is there any other annoying gun things i could solve? i have autism and i`m really good with creating, well stuff, just ask old locky martini about the carbon nanotube wood composite panels on the special planes. Just bored honestly, since we are WAY overprepared in the military section so they aren`t taking any new stuff, well special stuff like the high hypersonic variable lift surface aircraft.

@jeffkroll592011 ай бұрын
Some really bad information here, let me fix it. First the shotgun does not have a 16 inch barrel, it has an 18.5 inch, 16 would be NFA. Second, you referred to the shotgun as a rifle, it is not, it is a shotgun. Shotguns are not rifles, and rifles are not shotguns. Third, you seemed to be using “AR15” as a general term for all rifles and oddly all shotguns, it is not. An AR15 is a specific type of rifle. It sounds like you got your gun knowledge from the media, maybe it was a misspeak, but you did it more than once. Fourth, the magazine release issue is an issue for most bull pups, not just this one
@theincendiaryavocado11 ай бұрын

@@theincendiaryavocado Not sure what term you are referring to, but if it is “AR-15” no, it is not interchangeable, AR-15 refers to a specific family and pattern of rifle with a specific operating system, it is not, has never been, and never logically could be a universal term for all semi auto rifles. Before I purchased the TBP12 I watched numerous videos showing the same result of flawless operation. So given that there were only two videos showing the constant malfunctions FTF, FTE I though what the hell Ill chance it. Well, I am here to state this thing SUCKS! 50 rounds of 2 3/4 turkey loads 1550 fps and 50 failures. NOT ONE ROUND FUNCTIONED. You ask; did I clean the gun beforehand? Yes, I did a thorough job of cleaning and inspecting and proper lubrication and assembly. Been doing this for 60 years. Contacted Tokarev and they said nothing. He suggested inserting the magazine fully, then pulling down to lock the mag release mechanism. Yes, you can insert the magazine too far into the receiver and the back of the mag will block the bolt from going forward. POOR DESIGN #1. Second, the factory Tokarev 10 rd mags bulge when loaded and cause the rounds to go crooked inside and not feed correctly. I am so disappointed, because I thought the design and ease of assembly/disassembly was good. I am in podunck Arkansas and no one has 3" shells in stock, but I will try those next to see if they feed any better. SO far, totally disappointed and feeling ripped off

OK let me desribe the way this gun failed me, after over 500 rounds of break-in. Never loaded a new shell with bolt release. Needs incredible strength to remove clips, I tried 4 different ones, they don't drop or even come out when pulled. Jams every 50 rounds, cannot use for home defense. In trying to change out the choke, it became slightly stuck even though I was super gentle, and I discovered it had been screwed in past the normal point, it came out with threads much lower than the other chokes, and damaged the barrel. You get what you pay for, my next semi-auto will be 1k instead of $225.
