All the cursing!!! Wow! I love it!!! We need more blokes like you being who they are as they do reviews! Makes me feel at home! Beautiful bike mate! I purchased a 2001 a couple of years ago from a friend who was selling his son's bike because he no longer used it! 28,000 miles... He asked me to ride it for him to make sure he wasn't asking too much which was $1,200 US dollars. I had never seen it... I told a friend about it. Told him I was going to test ride it, and if I thought it was worth it, if he'd be interested in it... He said YES!!! Same color, damn near show room perfect! I was shocked when I laid my eyes on it for the first time! I test rode it, fell absolutely in love the moment I hit the throttle! And the response from such an aged bike blew my mind! The wife sat outside to watch me ride by... I stopped on the way back to show her the bike! She thought it was beautiful!!! I took it back, told my friend it was well worth the money, and I wanted it... But the wife won't agree with me getting another bike. I had already purchased a brand new R1. The next morning, my wife is sitting in bed looking at her phone. I asked her if she was texting her bestfriend who we're both dear friends with... she say's, no... I'm trying to figure out how to buy you the bike... I was shocked! I could not believe what she just said... We purchased it, and now I had the shit job of having to shatter my buddies heart! Haha! He asked me how it went as soon as he saw me! I said it was bad ass man! But I regret to inform you, I bought the bike! Haha! He immediately called me a cock blocker! Haha! Oh well... he'll survive! Sorry for the novel! Long story short... I basically stole it for $1,200 dollars! Haha! I rode her to work today! Thank you for the killer video mate!

That generation Sprint ST in silver with matching side panniers is one of my favorite looking bikes. You said that's a lot of miles for a 99, I'm the original owner of an 02 Tiger with 85,000 miles. The 955i is a hell of an engine.

I tend to change my bike every year, buy cheap from a main dealer as a PX, allow for courier costs & always make a few quid selling on in May/June time......however...just bought the ST, again Main Dealer PX, 1999, 2 owners last of which bought it from a lass in 2000. Full matching luggage, every previous MOT, FULL service history & a folder of receipts, spare Beowulf end can, single seat cowl, spare screen, 2 x spare sets one being a gel seat, spare passenger pegs, tank cover ...etc etc....list goes on. Believe me, this one is a keeper because if I ever considered selling it, no advert I could do would do it justice. 26K miles but fully services & rides like a dream. Among my many bikes I had a 595 Daytona in Black which was an absolute stunner, but I broke it badly 🤭, a few bikes and a few years later had the RS in black, which also had superb history but this Triumph is special, honestly love it and is in the same lovely red as your old one on this video. Oh and I paid £1300 inclusive of courier delivery to my door from Norwich to my home in South Somerset. Great video, great bike & the ST Sprint in the dogs bollocks once you hunt out a cared for one!!😁👍

It's got 37,500 on the clock now but I have all past MOT's and garage receipts for a full engine rebuild at 26400 before I bought it (previous owner was/is a vet). That's going to be tough I think, you might try somewhere like "Monster Fairings" but obviously it would be a pattern set not originals, other than that I would ask on dedicated forums for the ST or FaceBook groups. Good luck 🙂

Have the same bike but in black got to ask the temp needle sits above the second line of cold and never really seen it go beyond that i fear it the thermostat which is no longer available bit a few people say its normal as used to most vehicles gling half way etc, also do these usually smell white rich when running ,as my bike has got loads of power no engine warning lights have scanned for codes and nothing, as this is my first triumph 3pot as i also have a srad inline 4 so kinda basing it off hkw that runs less smelly etc
@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes
@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the temp is fine, if it's too low, or too high then that's more of a concern, I'm assuming the fans kick in when you are in traffic? that obviously keeps it from overheating. The rich fuel smell could be an indication of the need for a throttle body balance, or new spark plugs needed, possibly even a failing coil pack, but if it's running OK then I wouldn't worry too much. The most common failure point is the Left side spark plug, as when the bike is on the side stand, water can pool into the plug tunnel, and then sit there making a nice amount of corrosion, which isn't great. But is a very easy fix. I f it were my bike, I would change out the plugs anyway if they haven't been done in a while.
@Epiccosplays

I actually almost bought a VFR800 - but I just didn't like they way it sounded? perhaps with a better end can set up it would be better, but it felt a little small to me, they do look nice though I agree, and have a great reputation ;)
@MrBoybergs
@MrBoybergs 5 жыл бұрын
Was it the 5th Gen VFR800 (1998-2002)? If so it may be the sound of the gear driven cams that you didn't like?; under 3-4000rpm....sounds a bit like a milk float....above that they howl. Also yes, an after market end can really lets the fantastic noise of the V4 scream freely. Anyway, both the VFR and the Sprint are excellent sports tourers; can't go wrong with either imo.

I think the reason you have so many "thumbs down" on this video is because you did not actually did a proper "Review" as the title promises. You just talk and talk and there is nothing to learn about the bike itself, especially in comparison with newer versions and or with the 1050 Sprint ST. I was properly dissapointed and I will have to find the "review" part elsewhere. Sorry mate.
@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes
@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes 5 жыл бұрын
My video's tend to be more about my thoughts on a bike/car, there are always many other "Reviews" which talk about how something rides, or how the fuel economy is, my aim is to do something a little different, let you guys know what I'm up to, and show what you can buy at bargain prices (hence the channel title) and how I am trying out different things I have wanted to test out for my own. I agree it's not really a "Review" as such, like I said it's my thoughts, what I have done, and MY feelings on the bike or car. I can almost guarantee that most of the thumbs down are from people who own the same model, and perhaps don't agree with my opinions, but that is what KZbin is all about I guess. Everyone can find something annoying in a KZbin video, I watch "The Missenden Flyer" channel quite a lot, and the way he goes "Um -Uh, Um" every second word drives me insane! but I still watch his videos ;)

Great bike, until you look at it from the front, simply hideous. This could have been a really big success for Triumph and a genuine VFR killer, but for some strange reason they didn't see how ugly the front ends was. I've seriously considered buying a Triumph several times and even test rode a couple, but didn't do it for a couple of reasons, either the bike was too ugly, or too small. The few good looking Triumphs, just aren't made for people over 6ft tall.
