Tt02 need a discrete amoujt of upgrade to be comparable to the xv01 but still lack of the front mount motor, the belt driven chassis and dust cover + the reinforced plastics of the xv chassis.

The TT-02 can certainly compete with the XV-01 but requires a fair bit of modifications to do so. I have both models and I think my TT-O2 is every bit as enjoyable as the XV-01 to drive in rally spec. I think my TT-02 handles rough terrain a bit better than the XV-01(Note: Both cars have 22mm ground clearance). Part of this has to do with the front weight bias of the XV-01 which I find 'bottoms' out more easily than my TT02 on rough terrain. All-in-all, both cars are great fun to drive off-road once properly setup.

I have an xv-01 on embie racing chassis. How is the steering angle on the TT-02? I would love to build one of these .

@@todd92371 Out of the box the steering angle is not very good but it can be easily improved by trimming the plastic steering stops on the front steering uprights and suspension arms. If you do this modification, you might also need to replace the front dogbone driveshafts with CVDs to avoid driveshafts popping out.

Do you actually need to make any specific mods to turn the TT-02 into a rally car? For example the 13mm ground clearance can be achieved but building the suspension on the high suspension setting as shown in the instruction booklet or you need to add longer travel suspension too? And what about the gearing ?

This particular variant can probably use aluminum dampers, motor mount, 64T spur with 29T pinion.

The tt02 type s, with some tweaks on the front suspension arms ( to gain ground clearance) and soft spring (plus cvd on the front if you want to turn). I own this châssis for more than a year and it is great for rally! Last thing you need to have a good rally car is the lexan cover tamiya sells. I think it cost you around 225 €(châssis 140 +cvd 20+spring 15+châssis cover 50) so at this point it's a matter of what châssis you like the most, and the cost of spare parts
