It's due to the breakdown of the family. There has been a war on the nuclear family in the U.K. Most of these boys do not have fathers, to discipline and teach them how to be honest young men. Mothers have married the government and fathers have abandoned their responsibilities. Personal responsibility is paramount, it may not be your fault for being born into poverty. However, it is your responsibility to deal with your situation. These people in the audience want the government to protect their children but isn't that the role of the parents? The issue here is apparently that knives are being used in crimes. Not the crimes themselves and the increase in potential criminals. Maybe you should ban knives and end all knife crimes. Oh wait then there'd be an increase in screwdriver crime or baseball bat crime. Culture matters. Family instability - the decline of marriage, the two-parent home, respect, civility, and morality have consequences. This should not come as a surprise. Throughout the West, there has in many ways been massive societal regressions since the 1960s that are linked in part to the advanced welfare state and non-judgmental secular societies. It is a waste of money to simply thrown money at a problem and create ever-more social programs without dealing with cultural/societal problems. Children should be helped but they have to take responsibility for their meaningful actions, as well. Punishment maybe is not enough but letting them emphasize with victim’s difference and greave is necessary. In Finland prisoners are supposed to talk to parents and siblings of victims or injured people for understanding the tragedy that their action provoked into the whole community. Number 1 - fund the police Number 2 - fund the communities (youth centres) and help should be given to parents. Parents / single parents working to the bone to support family. They end up not spending time with the children . Put some funding in schools for after school clubs , introduce a scheme like we used to have in colleges ,where every month you would get money but you had to have a certain attendance to get it. Number 3- make the punishment severe for anyone carrying a harmful weapon or for assaults with harmful weapons Number 4 - parents need to look after their children, observe them , raise them so they know not to involve themselves in gangs or people that are in gangs. Discipline your children and raise them to be better . Parents, older siblings etc should be role models so that groomers won’t win There’s also an issue with coming from a family of gangs, were you are born into that life Number 5 - tackle systemic racism. The comment section here is amazing. 1. You can't ban or regulate knives. They are everywhere and can be made incredibly easily. 2. You cannot prevent crime, you can only punish it. Criminals will always engage in crime regardless of the penalty. 3. It doesn't matter where you come from or what background you have, a criminal will be a criminal. Is this a rhetorical question or what !!! YES but that should not be the question, the question is WHY !. The answer is being avoided by are great effective honest leaders that we dont have. How about Racial, Economic, none inclusive, lack of social mobility, Deprived, and OH so much more. Why do kids need community centres after school?????? After school - surely a child must be at home studying.... where are the parents?????? What is the dad/ mum doing???

We need to talk about the role of the parents? No one is talking about this!!!! What is happening at home in a young child's life? Parents need to accept full responsibility for not guiding their kids. I would not blame a policeman...teacher...youth worker... lack of community centre s. Sadiq Khan... its not a political problem.. not a matter of resources... Parents parents parents parents!

I totally commend the multi agency approach..Everyone is doing a wonderful job here..however this approach cannot and will not replace the role of the Father and Mother.. Emotional intelligence and personal development must be instilled at home through parenting alone. The mental health of a child can only be nurtured through a loving home life. Kids needs boundaries and love...through their parents. Let's stop shifting the responsibility on anyone but the parents .

America's concealed carry law has spread because it works. If America gets reciprocity, it will get even better. It's like having thousands of under-cover Police. Concealed carry holders have better crime record reputation than policemen. Police like it. It is sophisticated. It's track record proves it works. The more crime there is, the more people carry in response. But of course the UK should do what they want.

Punishing innocent people that carry knifes as a tool for opening stuff and food ect is stupid because off some assholes that do stupid things, how many people get killed by cars every year are you banning cars also and punish the other innocent drivers for the crime off other people!!! A knife is a tool and every human should have the right to carry it and use it for ther intended purposes, and criminal called criminal becourse they don't care about the laws. Another thing we have introduced 2 strikes your out well no FIRST TIME if you get caught with a knife and you ain't on the way home from the shop with a recipt that you have just bought it then 20 years no half sentence 20 years simple not stab some one get 15 do 10 your out again not 2 strikes your out you don't work in a kitchen you dont need a knife or ypur not on the way home from a shop you have no reason at all to have one on the streets 2 strikes can kill twice 😂 shambles not good enough

Look in the prison, they don't can buy knifes ect but they have built themselves stabbing utilities from almost everything they can find, even paper tightly rolled together with a pointing tip can kill a human. Look on youtube under prison stabbing tools and than buy yourself common sense.
