The White Palace being located in the dream realm reminded me of a memory technique I'd heard of called the mind palace, so I wanted to investigate if the two ideas could possibly be related.

It's certainly possible that the reason the White Palace remains even after the Pale King's death is because of the nature of the dream realm and essence itself. Essence of those who have passed is shown to persist in one form or another. The dream warriors persist as actual apparitions haunted by their guilt or their refusal to accept their death. Meanwhile, dream bosses persist as distorted memories of those who passed. This is most likely the case with the White Palace persisting even after the Pale King passed on. It is on a much greater scale than the other examples, but I believe it is the case.

The White Palace reminds me of the palaces in Persona 5 Royal. The White Palace's interior was clearly distorted by the Pale King once he moved it into an isolated part of the dream realm. Similarly, the palace rulers distorted a location to fit their twisted desires in the metaverse. I believe that both do fit the concept of mind palace because of how they are executed.
