The way he talks can be misleading. Yes, harderned glass are still glass, the hardness gain is just incremental. But, remeber, one level of hardnes gain is A LOT, just like noise level measured by dB. Most glass is level 5, level 6 is VERY HARD, harder than 95% of the everyday items that might scratch your phone. The way he talks make level 6 sounds like trash. No, glass can never become sapphire, but even sapphire isn't drop prove, it will shatter too. Sapphire are usually reserved for premie watchs that cost 10,000$, you can keep it for the rest of your life and pass on to your grandchild, but sappire makes no sense on a phone you just going to keep for 2 or 3 years.

Hey Zack! As a mechanic my thumbs are far from clean and usually have extra cuts etc. My OnePlus 7T never misses my finger print unless my thumb is coated in grease. So I don't understand your need with the in display scanners as a whole. I would say some companies have it worked out pretty good.

I think he doesn't because a drop test is more likely to screw up his teardown later. Especially since part of his teardown observations is whether or it is easy -- or possible -- to reassemble the phone after said teardown. And after the teardown, the phone has lost some of its original integrity, so a drop test wouldn't be representative. He'd need to have an extra phone just for the drop test segment. You can find other KZbinrs who drop test popular phones, though.

Fun fact: In spain shopping carts have a coin operated lock that ties each shopping cart to the previous one. You need to insert a coin (50 cents/1€) to get one of the carts. When you are done shopping and you return the cart and "connect" it back to the rest, the coin is returned to you. Works well to prevent lazy people leaving carts on the wrong places!

Hey Jerry, Regarding the fingerprint sensor; It may seem somewhat deficient, but I believe this is due to the initial fingerprint registration. I had the same problem as you, but a good method to counter this was to navigate to the settings and register several "fingerprints" of the same finger. I cured all fingerprint problems on the Mi 11 with this technique
