It’s a great beginner bike. It isn’t too fast or slow. Perfect for city. I went from a ninja 400. Jumped to a r6. Then got a r7. Now I’m back on the 600cc with the Cbr600rr. That inline sound is what pulled me back to 600cc bikes. But r7 is great to start and learn. Lightweight. Nimble. Quick enough. Once you learn the basics and have been riding a bit, then decide to get a super sport.

Depends how beginner you are... If you are totally new and no experience at all on bike, anything in range up to 400cc might be the best for you to learn the basic. If you already ridden a smaller displacement bike maybe R7 or anything in this range. That simple actually, always start with smaller power bike and learn the basic because the power of the mid range bike is not a joke...

R7 isn’t much more of a bike than a ninja 400. Mt07’s are good bikes for beginners and r7 is same thing just dressed in fairings🤷‍♂️

@@Liam_EngelbrechtR7I think something that is never talked about when debating what speed is too much for a beginner bike is the maturity of the rider. It sounds like although a beginner, a R7 wasn’t too much for you because you respect the bike and realize the power it has and what it’s capable of, whereas if you have some dumb kid that’s gonna rip the throttle back full tilt as soon as he gets off the dealer lot, he’s gonna wreck it ofc. I’m looking to get a R7 as my first bike in a little bit and I couldn’t be more excited

I took the MSF course on a MTO3 and then got the R7 I would recommend if someone’s absolutely going to get it do some riding on an MT03 First MT03 Is 370 Pounds and the R7 is an MTO7 basically that’s 400 pounds

I'm currently in the market for a bike. I've rode 3 wheelers before, dirt bikes, I had a ninja 250, I've rode my cousins 750 and just drove my brothers gxsr 600 a few days ago.. I've been looking at the r7s, zx64, and Aprillia... The cost point of the r7 to go along with the best mpg and light weight frameis definitely a plus. It sucks you have to pay to put a full exhaust on but they also lower the total weight a bit while providing more hp that ppl are looking for. The others obviously have more top end speed. Which leads me to my biggest issue... It seems like most ppl that hate on the r7 are simply ppl who want to race on a track. Some ppl simply like the sport bike look but never want to see a track a day of their lives. Casual riders and no, we don't need a dam cruiser to do so! It also seems like most of the hate comes from the inevitable - countries forcing bike manufacturers to change up the dynamics due to this "go green" initiative! What ppl don't seem to get is, you may not like it but they don't care. I mean, we're seeing EVs and hybrids now! So it's pretty obvious where the future leads - if ppl can manage to look at things objectively - they'd realize this! So embrace what's coming or hang it up maxis lol. Anyways, I'm on the edge about the r7. I need someone with some exp with it to give me some insight plz.

Rider Maturity is key when deciding to buy bigger sport bikes as a beginner. Unfortunately, too many beginners are quick to want to ride at top end and then become over confident in their cornering abilities. Whether it’s a 400cc or 750cc take your time and gain the experience and don’t try to imitate more advanced riders. Personally, I’d take the R7 instead of buying a bike and then trying to get an upgrade a year or so later.

the R7 is too much bike for someone with zero experience, and it’s still not ideal even for someone with some childhood dirtbike experience, but at least that way it’s not a death wish. it’s twitchy, it has an awkward (for a new rider) riding position, it’s super easy to whiskey throttle due to the low RPM torque, all that. everyone makes newb mistakes when starting out with next to zero experience, EVERYONE, and a twitchy-ass sportbike will severely punish you for any of these newb mistakes. when starting out, the difference between a “whoops that was close” and ending up on a tree wrecking the bike and yourself is how much power the bike you’re riding has. making your friends think you got balls isn’t worth hopping on a full-on sportbike right away, you’ll probably be down a bike and up a medical bill in a couple of months. if you’re itching to ride a sportbike as your first bike, like I did, get an R125, or if you’re feeling bold, an R3. they’re tame, forgiving, but still look sexy. use it to learn how to ride, sell it after a couple of months, and put the money towards getting an R7. the R125 was the road I took, and doing it this way was the best decision I could have ever made. I had some close calls with the R7 that probably would have been wrecks if I hadn’t learned to ride on my 125cc for a couple of months beforehand. again, your ego isn’t worth wrecking a bike and yourself. take it slow and steady, you’ll get there eventually.

im leaning alot towards an R7 itook the msft ihave a little bit of experience but here we have a1 versions restricted to 47 hp will this make it easier to grow into it then unrestrict it im 5.9 height
@mencibenci
@mencibenci 4 ай бұрын
A2 restricted R7s can be unrestricted very easily, a restrictor kit is basically just some metal plates. have them removed, enjoy full power. A1 is different, that’s for 125cc bikes. that being said, do get a 125cc before hopping onto an R7, thank me later after a couple of close calls.

With the R7's height, can it be lowered a little for shorter riders? I'm 5' 6".
@RickyMoto
@RickyMoto 4 ай бұрын
it can def be lowered suspension wise although it might affect the geometry of the bike. another option is to get a lower aftermarket seat. i’m 5’7 and fit comfortably so if you 5’6 i think you can get away with it even in its stock form.

Soooo, I'm 54 yrs old and coming from a Road Star Warrior 1700cc, getting a knack for a sport bike. This R7 looks pretty solid for a 1st sport bike. What say you??
@RickyMoto
@RickyMoto 2 ай бұрын
since you have experience the r7 power wise will be no problem and overall the r7 is easy to learn on and handle. switching to a sport bike setup only thing to note is the seating position it’s gonna be more aggressive so it’ll take some getting used to. gotta watch out for our backs aha

Would go with the R6 over an R7 any day and would go with a gsx-r750 over the r7 any day for the pricing you're getting more with both bikes, and they are all good if you can control your brain/hand throttle excitement.

i’d say a lot of the newer bikes have been toned down compared to the older generations. an r7 is a pretty solid middle ground where it has good power but also manageable
@christosswc

There are a few people that are mature enough even at a young age that can start on an R7 no problem. Vast majority though are not mature enough and what this means is death and destruction. Being able to navigate a bike around and not lose control during normal riding doesn't make that bike a candidate for first bike. Most will just get carried away and go too fast for their skill level, don't want to be making beginner mistakes on a 130mph bike.

I may be devil's advocate when I say this. Just get the bike that fits your frame and budget. I recommend bigger dudes to just go ahead and get the R7 or MT07 for a starter, hell I'll even recommend an MT09, they have ride modes to limit power. It all depends on throttle discipline and state of mind really.
