Hi Aaron, I agree with the remote control option. I have both a Pro which I use with an external 15.6" portable monitor, or via HDMI capture into my laptop or tablet. I also have the Mini, the same applies there too. Although I do also use the Mini as I am a Search & Rescue Drone Pilot so use it to livestream drone footage to the ground teams I often work with. I have both the Loupedeck Live and the CT so like you with your Streamdeck, would like to be able to control it with that, or just a normal Bluetooth keyboard and mouse would be great, especially with the external monitor. In the Studio on the Topic of Sound: How about using the hdmi out of the atem for better audio? or how would you integrate a rodecaster? thanks for all your research over all the years

I've been looking at the Yolobox series as an addition to my mobile live stream set up and although everyone states that it will bring in a URL for a scoreboard overlay, I can't find clear information if it will bring a Webpage source as a full screen or not? So for example if I have a webpage which is running a slideshow (for example) can I bring that in as a source via either via the internal sim card or from a wifi network?

Love my yolo mini, I pair it with the atomos ninja cast for ultra portable, battery powered 4 cam live streaming. I've never even used the analogue audio is as I always bring in audio via hdmi to avoid sync issues.... Didn't know there was an issue with the analogue input

I just tested the Osmo Pocket 3 via USB to the YoloBox Ultra and it worked great! Should work great in the YoloBox Mini as well! One thing to note is that when the Osmo Pocket 3 is in webcam mode, it can't be controlled from the phone app.

Good stuff .. I've recently been looking into this model since the major firmware updates. just to confirm comething you said. Would the OBSbot still have the tracking and AI features when connected without the PC software?

Yes, the auto-tracking feature works entirely in the OBSBOT and Insta360 webcams and doesn't rely on PC software. What you do lose is the ability to have any manual control over the webcam like exposure and stuff that you'd get with a PC app.

I've always liked the idea of the YBM, but I'm wondering with us being 18 months into the lifecycle of the device, how much longer do you think it will remain "modern" and viable? I'm presuming there will be a point when the technical limitations of the YBM will be reached (a la the Rodecaster Pro1) and it will no longer be able to accept additional firmware upgrades. With this in mind, how much longer do you forsee this eventuality? And while I see that the results with the ZV-1 via HDMI are solid, have you done much testing with the ZV-1 to YBM via USB? I have not had positive results with the ZV-1 to my mac via USB but since I have two ZV-1s, it would be the simplest choice for a dual camera setup (since both cameras are with me when traveling). I haven't ever tried the ZV-1 over USB to the yolobox yet! That's a great idea though and I will give it a try. The yolobox mini has the same CPU as the Pro, so that's promising. Though I will say that the yolobox ultra is noticeably better. But since the Mini and Pro have the same CPU I would expect it to still be supported for a good while longer.

I have exactly the same problem when I use a USB microphone, I have other sound restrictions, I can't play the video and the guest can't come in.

I would rather have two hdmi inputs rather than the hdmi/usb combo. For a run and gun livestream I can connect my main hdmi camera to this and another hdmi camera wirelessly. But all my cameras are hdmi. This would be perfect for two camera/ one person gigs like weddings and other live events. But who uses USB camera in the field? Seems like a missed opportunity. I’d by it yesterday if it was 2 hdmi inputs.

I really liked the idea of using the Yolobox Mini as a way of broadcasting wirelessly with an ATEM Mini. However, I have recently discovered that you can connect a phone to the ATEM’s usb port and use the phone as a wifi hotspot. Would this be a better option?

You can connect a phone or any USB modem to the ATEM, but you're at the mercy of the ATEM's streaming encoder then. I've had bad luck with the ATEM encoder on bad network connections, so I would only do this if I was confident in the 5G connectivity of the location I'm streaming at. With the Yolobox you can bond multiple connections (e.g. wifi + cell) and even using the bonding service with just one cell connection performs better. I'm hoping to be able to show some of this with better real world tests soon!

I heart some serious rumors that support for companion will actually come. And so will indirect support for Streamdecks for the Yoloboxes will probably come too. The only downside will that we will need a device which runs companion, which could be a Raspberry Pi, but it’s one more device to carry, to power and to connect.

I bought a YoloBox Mini not too long ago to use with my ATEM Mini. But I’m wondering if I actually need my ATEM Mini. Why? I don’t have enough cameras😅 I agree, I wish I can use my Stream Deck to control the YoloBox, because my big fingers doesn’t get to control it perfectly.

Yololiv is considering supporting companion, which does support the Streamdeck. The only caveat would be that you would need at least a Raspberry Pi to run companion and connect your Streamdeck to. The Raspberry Pi would then be connected to the Yolobox. From what I heard, this is the way things will probably fold out and it would make sense.

Right now the biggest differences are: DM has remote control and more flexible layouts, YB Mini has web graphics overlays. So it depends on what you need.
