I would highly discourage anyone to purchase this product. I bought one and within the first week it failed after testing twice. In the first instance the image would drop after a couple of hours. Then eventually one of the hdmi ports failed completely. These thing run VERY VERY hot and actually think this has caused the failure. Fortunately I wasnt reliant on it before I needed to go stream this season weddings. This also does not work with Hollyland Pyros. Then trying to get support was useless. Whilst on paper and whilst working its a good product. Unfortunately a lot of these videos are not telling you the cons. Maybe in a gen 2 these might be sorted but for now I would stick with the original

Your technique of using the Preview bus as an aux output is a trick I use on the rack-mount BMD Television Studio HD switcher as well. The GoStream Duet's 4-SDI / 4-HDMI input configuration is reminiscent of the TV Studio HD's 8 HDMI / SDI inputs, with the BMD lacking only the Duet's SuperSource feature. As with the Duet, to use the BMD Preview bus as an aux output you have to forego its traditional use in staging dissolve transitions via the T-bar or Auto button. ATEM Mini's are set up by default to work in what BMD calls "Cut Mode", where pressing a channel button switches the On Air (red) status of that channel directly on the main output, leaving the (green) Preview bus unchanged. You can configure the TV Studio HD to work that way as well, making the Preview bus available for use as a separate aux output.

Want to use the SRT Protocol to stream to KZbin but why isn't the SRT protocol option showing up when I try and create a new streaming key in KZbin Studio? It shows up on your video when you create a new streaming key but I only get RTMP and HLS - no SRT option.

Thanks for making this video. Is It possible to make This work in my setup. I have 3 camera's with hdmi going into the atem extreme ISO. The Rodecaster pro 2 connects my microphones and I use a sound cable to export the sound from. The RCP into my ATEM extreme ISO. So This is a stereo sound and not a seperate one.

No, you'd need each audio channel sent separately into the ATEM to do the auto switching with the MixEffect app.

Am I the only one who thinks that scenes in OBS are associated with Pads of the Roadcaster Pro 2 in midi, is much simpler. In my opinion, the ATEM mini is only suitable for full screen images. I tried to try Side by Side but it is much too restrictive.

Yes, check out the link in the description for the HDMI version of the NDI encoder. The only potential issue is with the regular ATEM Mini there's only one HDMI output, but on the ATEM Mini Extreme there are two HDMIs so you'd probably only use it with the Extreme.

Very interesting device! If they add an universal .XML cut files for post-editing, and ability to also have the Scenes recorded as part of the ISO, it'll definitely make a big dent in the Atem Mini series...

Thank you, very informative and clear. We got the Gostream duet but get quite a lot of distortion in the audio coming from the hdmi input (video camera, audio goes from mixer to XLR inputs in camera, video and audio are sent to the Gostream Duet via SDI, then we use a BM SDI to HDMI converter). We tried all the inputs, same issue. SDI seems to work better by a little bit. Interestingly enough, there is no audio distortion when we plug the very same HDMI cable to our old ATEM Television Studio. Any suggestions?

Not keen on stream and record being on the same button. I could see lots of instances where I’d want to test etc via recording without streaming.

Yeah I would always want a way to start recording and streaming separately, it just seems weird that the one giant button only does one of the things that's indicated by the lights next to it.

@@SnOrfus oh it's definitely possible to create this layout in the RØDECaster Video, I just wasn't using the RCV to actually record this video. I did a demo of that at 24:17

@@aaronpk Yeah, your demo was great and using Rode Central seems straightforward to do what I need. The difficult part is getting the content of my second monitor as an input source into the RCV in order to create the layout with it and my camera. There's no passthrough on the RCV and the USB-C connection to the computer doesn't seem to provide access to any video sources on the machine, so the best I can think of is a putting a Cam Link 4K X (or similar capture card) between my machine and external monitor to split the signal out from my computer to my monitor and the RCV in the USB-C 4 or 5 port... which is another $200-300 on top of the $1200 already spent on the RCV.

@@SnOrfus oh gotcha yeah. You might be able to get away with a cheap $20 HDMI splitter too, but those tend to vary wildly in quality. But also keep an eye out for a firmware update to the RCV 👀

The USB adapter comes in the kit, the lightning adapter is a separate purchase, which makes sense because new iPhones are USB-C now so the lightning adapter won't be needed for much longer.

@aaronpk actually, I did see it, but i heard there's a problem specifically with the wireless pro (dropouts), so i searched for a review with those 2 products, i want to buy those products but use them with Auto switch specifically. I ran into your channel and saw the real technical knowledge, so i thought, why not write to you about it.

I'm very interested in these but anecdotally a high quality signal will completely consume the wifi airspace; a coworker talked about chaos in the office when a manager installed one of these for a conference and every other wifi in the surrounding offices started dying. That's actually how I found this video, I didn't even know these existed before he dumped that story on me, lol.

Can the physical gain control be used to adjust just one of the two mics at a time? Incase one person is a loud talker and the other isn’t. The physical knobs are my favorite feature of the Hollyland Lark 150

No it looks like it's more a volume control on the receiver rather than controlling each mic. You can have the receiver split out the two mics into right and left channels so you can mix them separately in editing or in a livestreaming switcher though.
