The talk will be presented by Emily Hayes, Executive Director at Youth Counseling Connection; and Juanica Buchanan, Clinical and Community Outreach Manager at Lexington Human Services. We will have time for questions at the end of the presentation. Questions can be submitted privately or shared with other attendees.
Juanica Buchanan LIC SW, is the Clinical and Community Outreach Manager for the town of Lexington Human Services Department. She works with individuals across the life span helping with emotional/mental health wellbeing, financial stress, connecting to resources for basic needs, education, and parent support, and referral and connection to many other resources. She holds a Masters of Social Work(MSW) from Boston University School of Social Work, a Masters of Public Health(MPH) from Harvard T.H. Chan, and a Bachelors of Arts(BA) in Psychology from Rider University. She has over a decade of experience working in nonprofits, health care, and mental health.
Emily Hayes, LMHC, ATR-BC, joined the YCC team as the new Executive Director in the fall of 2019. Emily received her Master's in Art Therapy from Florida State University. She is a Board Certified Art Therapist as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Emily has over six years of experience working with youth and their families. She has specialized training working with trauma, family attachment, adoption, Depression, Anxiety, and suicide/self-harm. Emily is a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.
