Quakers are close.... As long as I'm within eye sight of him, he's quite. Talks more than I'd like sometimes, and even when he's loud it's not awful. Maybe I was lucky with my little guy???

Sometimes you are lucky (because each bird has it's own personality), and sometimes it means you've been very loving and provided a good home. Clearly, at least the latter is true :)

Would you have any idea of a bird that has all these good characteristics but without the necessity of talking? Medium, not war piercingly loud/ incessant screaming, etc.

When you get 2 parrots should you get the same species? How about 2 different Pionus'?
@ParrotBliss29 күн бұрын
Yes, same species; 2 diff Pionus would be fine

@@ParrotBliss I'm on a breeder's list for a Bronze wing and a Dusky Pionus. When the time comes I'm not sure I'll take both but a white cap or Max although not cheap they seem to be more available and less then half the price. In addition it's not likely the BWP and Dusky would be available at the same time.

I'm jealous! Males are almost like a different species sometimes! My female is a bit difficult, but I still love her!
@joslinnick Жыл бұрын
Outside of exotic pets like a tiger or hyena, parrots are the most difficult pets to properly take care of. That being said, some are certainly harder than others. Even my cockatiels demanded that I spend a lot of time with them.
@ParrotBliss Жыл бұрын
Yeah... being in a flock isn't easy. Plus, caring for them when it comes to the mess and offering vegetables... I don't know. I tiger might be less work! I wouldn't know, but it's hard to imagine another creature being so much work.

Help- my breeder just got back to me with dna results for white capped pionus saying the clutch has male and female in it. I was thinking of a male, but am wondering- what is the real difference anyways?
@ParrotBliss2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I haven't had the experience of a female so I don't know. May I ask who your breeder is? I have considered a mate for mine but it's hard to find breeders for these guys.

Hi,Im new to your channel and love your videos. I rescued /adopted a 26 year old blue front Amazon about 4 years ago. His name is Gus he's almost 30 now and i love him ,but i have still not been able to touch him . I got him a nice big cage and all kinds of toys and his own room . we pass through all day but is dark and quiet at night .I think he has a good life but i wish he could be a little nicer so he could come out .i think he would be even happier . He had his right wing half cut off when he was young so he couldn't flying and he climbs well .Is there a trick or hack or anything i could do to make friends with him? I do love him and he's staying forever but hes super mean. and i wish he could come out and be part of our family .without going on the attack .Any thoughts or tips would be so very appreciated .
@ParrotBliss Жыл бұрын
Sorry, tied up, just reading this. Does he come out of his cage at all? How many hours per day is he with you or around people? Do you have any other parrots? I admire your dedication to Gus. Sounds like 22 years before you made him “hard.” My 17 year old Mealy and adult (don’t know how old) Orange-wing are a little like that, but they have come around to being fine - not bonded. I have other parrots; this helps them. They see that the others say and act like I’m safe, life can be lived in a friendlier way. Gus may know no other way. Have you considered getting another adult Amazon?

Would it be possible to give more information about the lineolated parakeets please
@ParrotBliss2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Any particular questions?
@Debracanning2 жыл бұрын
Thank You! What ever information you have would be good but one thing in particular would be if you could give advice about my male lineolated parakeet he is 14 months old and from quite a young age he has been very hormonal and I have had to remove a lot of his toys but he still isn't getting much better with it. I have also been given his sister now she is fine and doesn't have any of these issues. They are both in separate cages. Also if possible if you know what a lot of their sounds mean.
