It's been soooo tough lately for HOBO skateboard SHOP. BUT, I had a little backup plan that help me keep us in business and my doors open. Although I felt the hit during the pandemic. But I REALLY realize that everyone was hurting when I went inside a ZUMIES and saw that I had more skateboard product than them! So to any other skate shops out there thats still open. Dude, I last resorted and went to Zumiez because the local shops in Houston are open, but you have to order online and do curbside. But when I'm getting wheels, I gotta feel em. I was like, wheels are wheels, I'm gonna grab some....zero wheels. No hardware, no decks, no tools, just off brand grip. That's all they had. It's pretty crazy, dude.

Ive been saying it skateboarding is one of the few acitve things you can do during this new norm. that can allow to socialize while maintaining relative social distance. The shops that fight through this will be rewarded for it.

Everyone wants their boards . Some of the most popular in the game you gotta keep the date get them the day they come out . Well worth it did you see Vincent’s nollie heel lip on that curb, the shits bend they don’t break anymore unless your jumpin 9ft or higher

I joined a local skate page on FB and the amount of people saying that they have started skating or got back into skating since cv19 started is crazy. (Crazy good) My local state shop is doing their best to get stock but its not easy. I got a deck that I normally wouldn't buy but if it supports the shop and manufacturer, I'm happy to help. Shout out to 1991skateshop Perth Australia.

When everyone was buying toilet paper I was ordering as many neen twin noses as I could afford to stockpile. I don't feel quite as silly now when you see a few hundred decks on a shop site that used to regularly carry 2,000 different decks. If you can't find stuff on your usual sites, check places like skate park of Tampa or tgm, a lot of these small shop sites are still sitting on plenty of good stuff that that ccs or Zumiez simply doesn't have right now.

@@finl7903 my go to shop is always tactics.com, they are def limited but are also doing a real good job of at least keeping enough stock flowing to have new stuff all the time. They had all the new Baker/DW/heroin stuff up the other day

I've been just skating everyday during the pandemic, because there's nothing to do. I needed a new board, and there's barely any graphics in my size that were available. Also I got my other non-skater friends into skating so like there's a lot of people wanting to skate and get parts right now.

I was just at my local skate shop there wall was bare. Even zumiez board wall was bare but I dont even shop there for skateboards just happen to be at mall. I'm glad I had a new fresh deck and I still have used back ups.

The shop I work for has been selling out of boards on a weekly basis, but also trucks and wheels. Its been absolutely insane. It’s weird because the issue the whole time hasn’t been loss of money due to COVID, but it’s been the loss of sales due to lack of inventory. I had to turn away 10-15 people looking to build an entire setup on a weekend because we literally had zero trucks.

We definitely feel it here in Germany too. Even the biggest stores have like 2 pairs of thunders/indys and all of that where they usually have like 100.. It's really weird and you kinda have to plan for that at the moment..

most don't have a skateshop, it's more the existence of a skatepark that keeps a community alive or even start one up. Nice ton have a skateshop though and it does help

Tkor_yt only reason there is still a skate shop where I live is because it’s a snowboard surf and skate shop, my local park is great just don’t see as many skaters there compared to even 3 years ago

I just got a skateboard for the first at the age of 36. It's a carver bel air and the width is 8 7/8. I'm thinking of going with a smaller board once I get more comfortable. I was thinking of 8.25 or 8.375

The demand from the 30year old getting back-into skating; also the 30year old's buying power.. Being older having more money.. I probably bought over 8 boards, 3 trunks, 5 sets of wheels, etc in a few weeks.

Dude, don't leave out the 50-year-olds like me who've been ripping since '77. I have 4 boards with an electric on the way! More dads need to get out and skate with their sons. I've formed some great bonds with my boys via our skating adventures. To me, skating is a lifelong activity, not something I tried in my youth.

almost all major brands are manufactured outside of the USA, and in my opinion the most quality boards are coming from bareback in Mexico, PS stix in Mexico, and DSM in China - not because of the country they are in but because those companies have mastered the production of boards like none other over a long time in business.
