Big Bertha irons set is the most consistent franchise in golf i just stay in this lane and upgrade every couple years and never disappointed

I still have the G30 irons in my attic with regular flex shafts for when I get older and swing slower! I will give my Ping 430’s to my son.

callaway 6 iron 24 ° - ping 6 iron 27° - In my opinion you should have compared the ping 6 irons with the callaway 7 iron
@brianpilley3801 Жыл бұрын
Yes was thinking the same thing, just hit one more with the pings. Need to compare lofts not numbers on clubs.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more with what you've pointed out. This is an unfair comparison and mere "clickbait" to try to sell the Big Bertha's!

More loft is better! Better spin. Better decent angle. No brainer. These stronger lofts are overall stupid for the average player. Especially if ball speed and swing speed are a bit slower than normal

Don't listen to the snobby haters, they clearly don't understand that ALL golf club lofts have changed over the years, not just the Big Berthas. This is a great review. This video was reviewing decade old clubs compared to new clubs and it correctly showed the difference (which is the loft). Most companies have increased their loft over the years and this video perfectly portrayed this. Newer clubs allow higher handicappers to hit the ball further and easier since they get more range with a shorter club. Some people just love to complain.

save your money buy the older clubs, and get a hybrid for longer shots , you know get a 18 degree hybrid to compare to the 18 degree 4 iron of BB . lofts should be considered to compare irons to irons . IMO of course

I just got a new set of irons -new to me. They are 6-year-old Callaways and I love them! Got them from Callaway pre-owned which gave me a good price for my older irons on my trade-ins! Club manufactuers are under marketing pressure to introduce new irons/metal woods every couple years. But are they really THAT much better?
@adrianlovett3483 Жыл бұрын
The extra difference is created by stronger lofts and less spin , but that means you can hit a PW rather than a 9 iron. But it kind of makes the 4 and 5 iron redundant. Short game is crucial if you can’t stop your scoring irons on the green … that’s a problem. I have similar clubs T400 but I use traditional wedges from 80 yards to score.
@aliasErEf Жыл бұрын
That’s my also opinion. Not enough spin but very good clubs. My personal choice is 7 wood Ping, Titleist T-350 6,7,8, T-200 9, PW . …and 50, 56, 60 * wedges

Really random, but I've been given an ex demo 7 irons of these. I currently play with some 15 year old Dunlop irons which I can't find information for but I want to add the new BB23 to my bag. What should I replace the 7 iron with? Are we saying that these go further so maybe the 6? Thanks

Mavrik Pros were the unicorn irons, have all this tech, AI face, tungsten microspheres, but not so chunky.

Close to the green 52, 54 or 56 degrees wedges ( matter of feelings there’s so much good material out there) @ 7 wood , 6, 7,8,9, PW for the rest of the game My very humble opinion with a 17 handicap

I purchased the new BB two months ago and they are thicker than I prefer but the height and distance are impressive. I traded in my T-200’s which I loved but the BB were 10 yards longer and stopped with no problems. I had to change all my wedges due to the gaps and I’m hitting the 9 iron 150, which is impressive for an old man. I must agree with the previous comment that you can’t compare a new iron to a 10 year old iron and call that a fair test.
@jeffnahass8373 Жыл бұрын
Couldn’t you open the face in the bunker? The newer irons are stronger lofted.

Spin rate difference, how does that work? No good hitting it longer into green if it doesn't stop

Interesting test/review. I have Eye2s and G5s. Ping wins on spin Callaway for looks. For distance there are hybrids

10+ yards but there’s a 3 degree difference in lofts between “6 irons” so the Big Bertha is gonna go further. Not a fair comparison.

After 10 years, the level of any golfer has changed. So buying new irons is more or less necessary anyway, not to mention adapting shafts to your potential !
@petermartinaitis8166 Жыл бұрын
No point whatsoever of upgrading to new clubs unless you have too much money to waste, club fitting is a con , how can you get fitted for a full of irons hitting one club in 1 to 2 hours.

Good review but I have one issue, why would you use 42 deg PW from the bunker? should be SW, or worst case AW. I had a 10 yr old set of irons until this year. Tried new clubs every year as they came out, this was the first year I saw a big improvement with a set of Paradym irons. This club was not on my radar until last month I got a BB23 6 iron (for the shaft) and it blew me away how easy to hit it was. Have played 2 rounds and maybe 6 or 7 shots, all but one were long arrows. Have decided to blend the set with bb23 6, 7 paradym 8-pw (+gw 48, sw 54, lw 58).

Ping g 30 much better spin. If your hitting the green you want the ball to stop sooner than later! Correct. New technology is not working for the average player. I have G25S. Love them. Good lofts on them giving grest spin. Who cares if you are hitting a 7 iron vs an 8 iron. PW vs 9 iron. I want the ball to stop!!!

Glad you said that. I love my G25s senior shaft . I actually am using G20 driver senior shaft and I have regular shaft. If you could or maybe you have a vid out there concerning shafts meaning I would love you to test and let's see the results hitting stiff then regular then senior shafts to see the results. I would love to see what happens when you hit a stiff shaft vs senior shaft. I assume the senior shaft for you would draw hard or hook or maybe if you swing a bit easier the results could be close to the stiff shaft. Thank you.@@harryo2253

Glad you said that. I love my G25s senior shafts. The newer clubs do not even perform as good ssy G25S. I would love you to do a vid on shafts. Hitting stiff regular and senior shafts to see what numbers you get based on your swing speed. It's possible not much of a difference or maybe there is? But it would be great to see that from you.@@harryo2253

It's a bit of a truism that simply trading last year's clubs for this year's is not cost effective. However, where would you draw the line? 4 years, 6 years? Darned if I know.
@mrpriceisright7 ай бұрын
My 2c. If I can, I try new model clubs sometime in the year they come out. Unless I can see or feel a difference, no need to change. For example I had 10 yr old irons until last year, first time I could see a big difference with Paradym (& T200) irons. Have the paradyms now, just tried the new smoke AI irons, results (spin, carry, height, total) was identical to the Paradyms I currently have, no need to change (though I do like the thin top line). So I don't think there's a specific num yrs. Now my golf buddies 30 year ping copies .... that's another story!

Nice review but the title doesn't really make sense. If you're using 10 year old clubs would you really recommend going straight to a brand new set of £1249 clubs? In reality you should be recommending trying out clubs 2-3 years old.
