MY BROS! For the record, I say that the game has MORE THAN ENOUGH CONTENT. I'm beyond the moon with how much this game has to offer. I'm noticing people attacking me in the comments section for not having a life and to go enjoy the game.... I am, I say that 30 seconds into the video. My main character isn't even done with Act 2, he's a like... 28 warrior. I did my 3 streams, then had a board game night with friends (so what if they're not real), so I haven't played much, and I'm pretty behind the curve. That's why this is a FIRST IMPRESSIONS and not REVIEW. Furthermore, if someone IS lvl 65, pushing end game, and they did it this weekend. So what? It's what they wanted to do with their time. Don't attack each other because we have different priorities in life. The main priority is that we want a good, fun, and long lasting video game in PoE2.

what i am enjoying about POE2 unlike in the first game is not having to rely on videos for build ideas, i hated having to choose someone else's build because my own would be sub par and wasting my playthrough because i couldn't respec. making my own builds now is liberating lol. While not totally fair to say they ruin the game - it’s our choice to watch them…. I agree with the sentiment. I was happy with the mean drop rate, the difficulty and the range on drops but also pleased they have tweaked the drop rates (hopefully not too much). This is less than half the game, which is crazy and it'll be free on full launch. Truly wild! You really only need to spend $31 to play comfortably with the $7 currency tab, $4 gem tab, and $20 for 6 premium tabs. Everything after that is really just added comfortability. I'm loving the game and just taking my time as we have 6 months to a year to test things and provide feedback. I personally am enjoying PoE2 more in EA than I do Diablo IV after a full expansion. It shows how important endgame and quality are.

Only at around 20 hrs played so far but I've enjoyed everything I've seen so far and to me it feels bigger already than most complete ARPGs. And i'm not even finished Act 2, though was playing Sorc to Lvl 30 and just started Monk last night, so maybe could have been further on that this but wanted to try Melee - love both ranged and melee in different ways :) Its just been so refreshing to play a much slower paced ARPG, the combat feels more impactful. Combine that with what I think are fantastic visuals and effects and it lifts this into its own new level of ARPG, a real defining moment for the genre - this is my opinion on what I've felt and seen so far. I think the difficulty, for me at least, is spot on. It feels challenging at points but not impossible and I can see it will depend on ur class/build a lot - this is great as other ARPGs just felt like I could faceroll on the keyboard and everything dies, having challenge in this genre is awesome :) I'm even more hyped than before it came out to see what they add, change and for the full release. By far this is my fav ARPG and I'll be playing this for such a long time. GGG should be so proud of what they have done with this game, its brilliant

This is the only game I have ever played in early access. The fact that I paid for it speaks to the power of word of mouth. I am an ARPG casual with maybe a 2 dozen hours on Diablo 2R, 3, and 4… total. And yet I’m already probably 20 or more hours into this game…. Damn it’s so good. Ironically I’m enjoying the Warrior class which most people don’t seem to like. And at first I didn’t so I tried a sorceress, but apparently I was still learning, because my build was ass and I encountered Lachlann (I think his name was) and he soft locked my progress because I couldn’t get him down past half health sending me back to start a new character. I tried all 6 up to the first boss. Went with warrior, am now on act 2 and having a blast.

Ugh I'm so baffled by the "oh nooooooes, it's too much like Diablo II" wails, when GGG were extremely transparent from before POE 1, that their end goal was to create a spiritual successor to Diablo II - of COURSE it's similar! 🤣 In seriousness though, I generally hate action RPG's. I generally do NOT like 'traditionally hard games'. I LOVE this game. I love it. I'll probably drop it like a hot brick when teh POE 1 style seasons come into play, but right now? It's absolutely worth my $55-odd AUD. I'll probably buy a couple more upgrades because I believe it's worth that money. I LOVE IT. I've been craving a sequel for Diablo II for two decades. I'm over the moon that it FINALLY exists. I think it's only punishingly hard if you do silly stuff. Anyone who's played Diablo II knows that you CANNOT zerg through early to mid game maps or boss fights, you have to use (at the very least) strategy if not completely honouring the individual boss mechanics. If you try to ignore the mobs and nuke them at the other end of the map, you WILL be smacked down. I LOVE that.
@Jak0vas2 күн бұрын
POE2 Needs to stay slow and hard, keep the fights tough and the rewards high, D4 I've enjoyed for a couple of hundred hours since launch but each Season the builds get stronger, the challenges stay stagnant and I slowly go into auto pilot mode. POE2 has allowed me to experiment, figure out tactics to beat mob types and bosses alike and progress through the campaign, I do hope that continues into end game.

Can you do a dive into loot specifically when it comes to groups? How does identifying items work? Is it determined on drop or when you identify? My group is always fighting over loot becuase sometimes things are grayed out but other times items are clickable when I wouldn’t expect. Very confusing.
@WintercideКүн бұрын
It's in settings. The host can change it. Temporary allocation, items with drop for a specific person for x amount of time, permanent allocation items will drop for a certain player only, or no allocation, free for all looting. something i remembered. in poe1 the 'currencies' had more ways to force them in via shop vendors and some of the basic stuff converting into each other. right now i'm not bad off with the currencies for MAGIC item enhancement but i think i've only gotten like 12 regals which really feels bad when i need to try and push for a replacement item and i'm already looking at gambling away chunks of my gold for something to fill the void. And that gets even worse if i'm already playing into a rather notable niche like elemental monk and getting stuck with a wrong element... I think in act two i needed a new weapon and was leaning into frost and converting phys to frost effects with a non-frost penalty thanks to the support gem.... and the only staves i found were all crackling and pure lightning damage.... no long staves, no gothic staves, all that damned hooked lightning staff. I stopped playing that character for a bit, swapped to my witch and pushed a little further to see if their luck would imporve.

@RudalPLКүн бұрын
First of all a comment on a gold situation. There is not enough gold dropping and I can see reasons behind it but we are in EA and (shown by recent changes) GGG can change and even brick the entire builds with just one patch. Re-speccing should be free for the duration of EA. In one single update you can go from melting bosses to dying to a single white mob cause developers have "fixed" a skill or a mechanic and you are left with dysfunctional character and a need to farm for tens of hours for gold. That's just wrong. As for the game. I think the difficulty is OK but what the main problem is, is that there is not enough loot or material/currencies to support the crafting of loads trial and error items until RNG will let you craft something meaningful. Mobs and bosses drop mainly white items in Act 1 which can not be disenchanted for materials. It might be a good base to start crafting but you can't break those items down so no materials. I've done 18 levels on my witch and had quite a bit of orbs that will let you add a stat to a magic item but only a handful of orbs that will actually let you convert the white item to blue and the actual drops were useless to me. See the problem here? Second thing is the "souls-like" approach to the game. This is ARPG game first and foremost. Souls games are meant to be played for long hours and the progression is based on killing bosses. You come back to the boss and try until it dies, then you move on to another one. Once you've killed all of them you move on to another game. ARPG's are games that have seasons and leagues. Their main mechanic is to replay the content over and over with different themes or altered mechanics. Do you really believe there will be enough people willing to slog through a 50 or 60 hours grind every 3 or 4 months to keep up with Leagues? I don't bother playing every season or league as I find it boring, if it stays the way it is I might not come back for the "next" season at all. Now. Having said all the above. I do like PoE2 surprisingly. I re-rolled my Witch again and started playing more "grindy" where I redo the maps and kill all the bosses 2 or 3 times before I move on to next area. I started treating it like single player "one time off" game. I will see how far it will take me.

Is the POE2 worth it now? Yes, oh heck yes. Its early access is more enjoyable than D4 at launch...easily.

As someone who has never played an ARPG, I wanted to quit because of the difficulty. But after finally beating some of the bosses it keeps you coming back for more. As a casual player who can beat the bosses and a willingness to learn I can see how there is a big community who love the game. I’m playing Witch and loving it, having the minions do damage is a big help. I will keep playing and trying and hopefully I can actually get good. Thank you for the transparent review! I think that this game can still work for a casual player such as myself.

Let’s start with the obvious… EARLY ACCESS is like open beta. This is what they are using before public open launch. For the content that’s available now, this dwarfs a lot of ea and other beta releases. I’m having a blast and fully expect bugs, changes, updates, changes, added content, etc. A fair person can’t be overly judgmental on something that isn’t even at public release yet. This is kinda dumb… “is there enough content?”

Probably the best beta of all time.

Yes, there is enough content. I am in act 2 and it is my first time with such a game, be it Diablo or PoE. (I don´t know what this genre is called)

I''m softlocked, asked for help and got abused by the community, tried for 2 days to find a way to do any damage or get gold but I can't, game looks fun but I can't play it and get abused in the global chat

The games great so far. Havent seen the buffed loot yet but yesterday i was just farming obelisks of rust for rare salvage. Ez. Act 2 final boss needs to be more challenging that mf weak but act 3 elites put me in my place

The game also doesn't have some weapons yet, is that correct? I am playing as a warrior and never found an axe or sword yet.
@WintercideКүн бұрын
Correct. Daggers, swords, axes, and others are coming down the line. Would definitely help a lot to have them currently but not a huge deal.
