Never say the beep word on camera or with a customer ! It scares the beep out of customers. Unless you analyze the beep you don’t know what kind of beep it is. 😁

Great video Bert, straight to the point and obviously not trying to up-sell or scare the residents. You obviously know Mold when you get around it otherwise you'd be masked and gloved up.

This type of repair is out there all over the place. If only the technician takes the time to mention it. Nice job, Bert.

Mastic tape cut into Strips and put just inside the area covered by the register border and taped to the inside works as well and can be faster and cause less mess ,if sealing multiple registers.Best if you use a razor blade cut the roll down the middle and tear strips to size. Less sticking to fingers or tearing.

So, I had a similar situation. Noticed growth on several air registers and in cabinets. The humidity in the house was very high. Was told the plenum box had an air leak. It was repaired. Humidity has dropped considerably, however it’s still too high. Have to keep a dehumidifier running 24/7. It’s a 1500 square foot dehumidifier and I have to empty it twice a day. All of my registers and cabinets have been cleaned thoroughly, yet I still smell the “growth” smell in my home. Is this because the humidity is still too high? I’m at my wits end with this situation. Any insight?

Good video... I would have never thought to use spray foam on a boot but now if I do I just won't. Always used rolled mastic to seal properly or just pookie 😊

Thank you! I guess I have my work cut out. We just had our roof replaced and 5 months ago, I just noticed that dust or mold in my room 2 weeks ago, then looked at the rest and all of them have the same thing. I need to do12 vents. Never did 1 let alone 12. I turn 69 this month, hope I can do it. Sure gonna try. Not going in the attic. Bet there's spiders up there. I'll do it like you did. Thanks for your advice. We just had our ducts cleaned 3 yrs ago. $500.00.

Can you make a video about the mold that grows on the outside of the duct board supply plenum in a closet. Usually on top of the duct sealer

I came across one years ago doing maintenance. She said mold was growing on her vents like this video. After a bit of searching I found at least 12 candles in a one bedroom apartment. The filter was covered in black soot. It's not always mold growing. I had one hell of a time explaining to her what was going on. The last thing she wanted to hear was get rid of the candles.

Thank you so much, we are renting a 200 year old skirted house where the temperatures are from 0- 25 degrees fahrenheit most if the year and every time the furnace blows air it chokes me out and I can't sleep. I've been up since 3 am trying to figure out where its coming from and remembered when I didn't have caulking so I used duct tape to close those gaps because we kept losing heat real bad and I feared for my kids safety due to -30 degree weather during a blizzard.

Just subbed to this channel. I have good 20 year fiber board ducts, but when time to replace Ithink I want metal. I live in florida and would use insulated metal truck with old flexed attached be the best choice considering the flex line should last longer then the existing fiber board truck. Whats your opinion? Thx

Hello 👋 please help‼️ So I am Getting all sorts of white looking powdery stuff and like little fiber looking stuff inside the house. And I mean all over and if you clean it it just is back within a day. It looks like debris of some sort and definitely coming from the hvac air duct vents. The vents were “supposedly” cleaned by FOLKS but this stuff remains. They put an electro static filter in the furnace and took out the paper replaceable filters from both air intakes vents. Is this normal? This stuff is literally everywhere and is bothering my skin and lungs. If I take a flashlight and look it’s everywhere

I found some black mold on three of my vents. How much do you think they’ll charge me to clean this stuff out? 1400 square foot house
@CottageontheCorner3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, do it yourself with white distilled vinegar. The vents are easy to unscrew and you can soak them in the sink with the vinegar also. That's what I do and I have a 2 floor 4 bedroom house. Super easy! They sell a big bottle of the vinegar in the laundry detergent aisle.
