As the old saying goes, if it’s not broke then don’t t fix it! I use thermal spring water, avene being my favourite on my eczema/ redness face between skincare applications. Water from the tap can sometimes sting my face but thermal water never does.

The Avene spring water has become one of the most enjoyable parts of my skin care each day. I spritz with the water, and then while it's damp, I apply a snail mucin toner and then follow up with the FAB Ultra Repair Skin moisturizer. My sensitive, extremely dry skin has improved so much since I started doing this twice a day!

Hey! I have eczema on my face and I am considering to buy a thermal water. But Idk which brand to choose out of la rosche, avene, vichy and uriage eau. Also, I read a lot of negative comments about thermal water that they sting eczema prone skin. Is it true. Also Did you ever try centella toners? Are they good. @Arundhati Pareek it may sting if there is an open wound due to the itching and scratching cause by eczema. I want to try it on my daughter all over her body as a preventative care but not on the times that she is flared up. I understand that you have to apply the water then follow up with a Moisturizer to lock it in, otherwise it will just evaporate

It sure can be enjoyable, but it is not the reason your skin has improved. I spray tap water, then apply the snail mucin toner, followed by cream. My dry, sensitive skin has also vastly improved. It is the snail mucin toner, not the thermal water.

@@arundhatipareek8909 For eczema-prone skin, I suggest using a basic cleanser and a cream from Cetaphil or from La Roche Posay Toleraine line or from Avene. I use a centella balm - it helps to soothe skin irritation from too much exfoliation or acne but I would not use it for eczema.

I just discovered your channel the other day and really appreciate all the informative videos 😊. I’ve been using thermal water spray for over 7 years and found it significantly helped my skin calm down from redness and irritation from sensitivity and reactions from the wrong products. It was a sample in my skin care gift kit and since then found it very helpful. When I went to Paris few years ago, thermal water sprays were everywhere in the pharmacies. Although my skin is a lot better since I started out with La Roche Posay, I now use Uriage spray after I wash my face in the evening before moisturizing and tactupump. I also find it extremely useful to use after just finishing waxing as it calms the skin instantly and decreases any chance of redness. I’ve also used it on a hot summer day and it’s soothing.

As a man, I swear by La Roche Posay Serozinc - it is the same thermal water spray but with added zinc. Have been using probably for about ten years since shaving (zinc is good post-shave). It is not a necessity but it feels so pampering to use thermal water. I tried Vichy and Avene. Haven’t noticed much difference between the two. They do soothe my skin and make my face feel comfy and ready for my moisturizer. Usually I buy whatever is on sale. Both are so nice! Especially in winter when it is super dry here in Canada. It is a very inexpensive way to spoil myself. I also give thermal water as gifts to all my close friends. Will try LP water next time.

I purchased a large can of thermal spring water when I was perimenopausal and spending summers at our beach house. I promptly gifted all my friends with a can as it was just so refreshing. It can be dehydrating on its own so I use it as a reminder to reapply my Avene SPF 50. I use the Bobbi Brown hydrating toner in my morning skin routine. It’s an infused mineral water that I decant into a spray bottle and I lightly spritz my skin before applying my moisturiser. It’s the favourite part of my skincare routine.

I use the Avene one. I have a water free cleanser I like to follow with the thermal water prior to moisturizer, but I also like using it when I shower. I probably will continue to use it, and I also like it for when I have let my face get too dry before applying moisturizer. I feel it seals in the moisture. Hi Dr Dray I like the Avene or Caudalie better, but they feel good on my rosacea and eczema prone skin. I mist before toner and before anything with HA in it - gives more hydration on the surface for my humectants to grab onto. It's not an essential, but I buy the 300ml cans on offer and they last ages - just a little luxury that feels nice. Best wishes. ps tap water in a spray bottle does not feel the same and Scottish water is nice soft water, so I can only imagine that hard water would be even less similar. x

I've been using the Avene one, on and off, and I do notice benefits when I'm using it, in terms of reduced redness and swelling with my acne. I also think it helps me with swelling around the eyes, though that could just be because it's cold when it comes out of the can. It also feels good to use, probably not as good as hanging out in a small town in France, but nice. The thing is, I also tried the ones from Uriage, La Roche Posay and Vichy and I don't notice the same benefits with those. The La Roche Posay comes close to the Avene, but the others make seemingly no difference, I don't know whether that's true or not, it could be in my head. I do wish I liked the La Roche Posay one, though, because I prefer the look of their packaging

In the past, I used La Roche-Posay's thermal spring water. I'd rather spend the money on other more-targeted hydration products. Apparently, my LRP HydrAOX sunscreen - Shaka Fluid in other countries - already has that claim in the ingredients list. The water in Brazil is very soft and gentle for the skin, so I am not concerned about the barrier disruption caused by water hardness.

I carry a small can of thermal spray in my handbag as well as a small pot of Aveeno skin relief moisturising lotion that I decanter for this purpose. I keep my skin moist with the spray and when that doesn’t settle it I will apply the lotion then the spray. It definitely helps! I’ve used both La Roche & Avene sprays ~ both work well but I would say the Avene is slightly better. Also, the Avene spray comes in a 50ml spray which is ideal for my handbag whereas the smallest La Roche comes in a 100ml spray here in Australia. I’m always on the lookout for these products when they are on special!

I use Avene, Evian, LRP, and they have helped my redness so much. But I know why. My tap water is very harsh on my skin and using these waters cuts down on the irritation from using tap water. I use them as my morning cleanse and before steps in night routine. Sometimes I use them as my night cleanse with a microfiber towel.

I have used La Roche Posay and Avène mist, but not regularly. I love to put it in my cooler at the beach and mist my face to cool of. Love the fine mist sensation, cannot say about any benefit except luxurious feeling☺️☺️

I am using Gülbirlik Rose Water (Gülsuyu) without any additives, extracted from distillation of fresh rose leaves bought in Turkey and I like it. It helps for skin redness and acne, is refreshing. What is your opinion about rose water?

Definitely agree it's a luxury item that I absolutely love. I've enjoyed both La Roche Posay and Avene's versions. Per your advice, I spray a fine mist all over my face after a shower and immediately apply La Roche Posay's Double Tolerance moisturizer. I enjoy how the misty water makes it so much easier for a rich moisturizer to glide all over my face without rubbing or tugging my sensitive skin.

I remember reading that the reason micellar water and toners were created is because water in France back in the day was so hard (or alkaline? dont remember) that just washing your face with tap water disrupts your skin barrier and dries it out. So I'd reckon thermal water was created for the same reason

I also have a spray bottle of my own concoction (tiny bit of aloe with water) in my lunch bag at work. It’s stays in the fridge with a travel size moisturizer. I work long shifts at the hospital, and when I was hot, sweaty, and pregnant it was super refreshing.

I had horrible shingles on my face and on my eye, my forehead and entire skull. The residual itchiness that ensues after doctors tell you there is nothing more to help you from the after effects of shingles (Postherpetic neuralgia) and I find at night I get an attack of the itchy's - and all my life I have had rosacea. There is something about this that has made a difference for me - thermal water has helped me so much - especially with late night itchiness. Tap water for me can be worse when it dries - this really helps me so much.

I have used Avene for years now but the can always seems to mess up before it’s empty and I hate that! I bought a stainless steel water bottle and I put Evian in that and spray my whole body with it after I shower. It’s an inexpensive way to get that alpine water :)

I adore thermal spring water! I definitely notice a difference in how my skin feels. I like to mist my face and body both before applying moisturizer and I find it helps me cope with flare ups of eczema by making the lesions itch much less.

I'm a little reluctant to buy the reformulation. I've heard they changed it to apparently make it less greasy or whatever. Ive never found it greasy or heavy. It's always felt nice and comfortable to me. Now im worried the new version is gonna be too drying or something. Which i wouldn't like.

La Roche-Posay and Avene spring waters feel so good under moisturizers. I have terribly oily skin in my 60s, but realize I need to moisturize to protect and hydrate. Putting stuff on my face doesn't feel complete without a spritz.

I use the Avene thermal spring water in the morning as a quick mist before applying a hyaluronic acid serum and moisturizer. Once those absorb/dry down into the skin I finish with Sunscreen.

Eczema sufferer here - I have hard water at home, and while I bought a filter for my shower head, I use the LRP thermal water to do the last layer rinse on my face to lock the moisture in and HELPS SO MUCH with irritation. I wish I can use it on my body but that's excessive for me for the price

I have the Avene on hand & use once in a while. It's a nice refresher for my face in the morning, (especially when the MN weather is harsh & dry), right before I apply my moisturizer & it feels sooooo yummy. Will probably not purchase again, though. This stupid US economy is killing my paycheck enough as it is.
