Is This 1856 Flying Eagle Cent The Real Deal?

This week I give my thoughts on things that come through the pawn shop and why you should and shouldn't buy certain items I see everyday. First, a guy comes into the pawn shop with some things he wants $4,000 for. Those items being a very rare 1856 flying eagle cent, some jewelry and diamonds, & a Rolex piece you aren't offered to buy often. Lastly, I have some guys come into the pawn shop and give me 40 ounces of silver for free. If you want to see how or why, you will have to watch the video to find out. BE CAREFUL! You may want to investigate the legality of giving away a silver bar on Whatnot, where people earn a chance at winning by making a purchase. This could be viewed as an illegal raffle because you are requiring a purchase for a chance to win. Your KZbin giveaways are fine, because they are available to enter without any purchase required. As soon as you require a purchase, no matter how small, you are entering different territory. I don’t say this to be a killjoy and ruin the fun. I don’t want you to get into trouble as a result of this… as you know some disgruntled person will attempt to report you if they feel you’re breaking the law. Stay safe! 🙂

This is true. There is a "No purchase necessary" law that stipulates any giveaway, sweepstakes, or lottery must offer an option to win without making a purchase. Certain non-profit organizations and government entities may be exempt.

@@SilverBull30 I looked up Whatnot’s buyer giveaway rules and it does appear they provide for an option for someone to enter a giveaway even if they haven’t actually purchased something. It’s a bit convoluted, but it seems to be their attempt to comply with the “No Purchase Necessary” law for prize giveaways. It might be a good idea to make this option known to people, otherwise it creates the appearance that a purchase is necessary in order to win.

A great way to take pictures of coins with your phone is to put a cup upside down and sit your phone on it with the camera hanging off, then just use the zoom to focus on it. They come out better than taking a picture with the coin in your hand. I like to put a sheet of printer paper so your camera doesnt try to autofocus on the background
