300$ per plugin? You could pay 300 for a decent hardware setup and get more than just one amp model

The Softube Marshall Amp Room is so good. I can't see myself needing this one after getting Amp Room for $35.
@MercaisonАй бұрын
Exactly. And Remember softube was producing plugins for UAD in the past, so it's reasonably possible this was just recicled from them.

I have been using this plugin and Dream 65 as well for a few of my recent videos and they really do sound great!

I've spent a few grand on UAD plugins over the years. I was pretty happy to pay $199 for all 3 of these plus a few other new plugins like the Topline and new SSL stuff from them. I still really love my Friedman IR-X into the Apollo FX more than any other DI guitar solution I've found. These plugs are pretty awesome though.

$199 for me and lots more, including the other 2 new ones: upgrade to Signature 2 or something like that. That's a steal (10 plugins at least new for me).

im trying this in ableton and loading up two notes genome and loading up IRs from that - sounds great especially with the cab choices from two ntoes and ability to adjust the mic placements and using different mics too
@JimmyStrummer2 ай бұрын
Yeahh that’s the one thing I’d change about the plugin is just make the cab sim part more flexible - let us move the mics and give us more cab setups. But at least they give you the direct option so you can bypass the included cabs and load your preferred IRs.

Fuck I finally purchased Lion plugin 😂 I made a bunch of NAM capture of it, but I need the sexy interface and the tweakability, also love the fact it’s never too harsh and still cut perfectly in 70-80-90’s rock mixes. So giving a reward to UAFX team for that seems fair and it’s giving more pleasure than a Starbuck coffee for one month 😂

I’d love to but I don’t think I can. I think the UAD Plexi is only available with an Apollo interface. If I’m wrong I’ll definitely compare the two

without watching all the video I think is just stupid to pay so much for a plugin when you have today HW units for less or the same as the Matribox II Pro..... Universal Audio should be more humble and realistic, their stuff is not better than other companies to charge that ridiculous price!

Dawg UAD is top of the line software and as of the last year, they've dropped their prices BY A TON and this amp will be $150 for the foreseeable future. That is not an usual price for high quality, detailed amp sims.

I can answer this question without watching the video: Nope. These days, if the plug-in costs ANYthing more than the time it takes to download it you've wasted your money, period.
@Jordan-rb282 ай бұрын
No, not period 😂😂😂 That's what YOUR opinion is and yours only. For those of us who make money because of these plugins, aka most audio engineers and people working in studios, we wouldn't agree. Also this plugin can be bundled with any other UAD plugin right now for only $79 which is crazy cheap for how good this is, and that's coming from someone who has a Marshall JVM-410H + 4x12 1960A cab, and a JMP-1...
@gunslingersymphony50152 ай бұрын
@Jordan-rb28 Nah. I understand what you were trying to say, despite the sophomoric condescension and only making half a point. Pretty sure you meant it's worth it to those who make money making plugins when WE spend OUR money on them. That doesn't make it worth it for us, when your carbon-copy does the same thing as the twelve open-source alternatives we could find with minimal effort. I'm saying the people making these plugins to make money will always have two unfortunate sources of income: the lazy and the misled.
