As someone who works on new builds for a living, please don't be fooled by the "quality" you are seeing. The show house is always the best looking as it's designed to be, its what they want every potential customer to think all of the property's on the site will look like when it's just not the case. The higher ups don't give a shit about what "your" plot looks like as you're just a statistic to get their bonus. If your heart is set on a new build please, please, please! Knock on the doors of already occupied plots on the site and ask what theirs is like, have they had any issues, what's the quality like etc..

I've actually just pulled out of a new build after doing just this. It's such a shame as I loved the house but I got bad feedback, however I'm determined to find another, just not on contaminated land (no sign off from the developer to say it was all done to standard)

It is interesting the differences in houses between Europe and America. Our dining rooms are in the living room (open concept) with a formal dining room that is either off to the side in another area or a seperate room all together. Beautiful home, love the tour.

We do have this kind of layout like America in France, the dining room is always in the living room. That's quite surprising !

@@enlilw-l2 Homes here are what's called open concept the kitchen, living, dinning room are one huge room. Each area is specifically for each space though. What Matt and Elliot show are the more traditional homes here in America (built before the 90's). There is also this new popular way of living called tiny house, where, some homes are only 300-800 square feet. Off grid living is starting to bloom as well. European home are definitely pretty. I love how the back years are fenced and landscaped very well. Have a blessed day. 😊

About living room/dining room combo, it's quite usual since the 80's/90's unlike Great Britain. Thank you for your message 🙏 😊

Oh very nice for a family! I pick the living room, as well. You had mentioned eliminating the wall between there & the kitchen, I say NO. The "open floor plan" is what I do not like here in the US. You can’t negotiate price on new builds, just “upgrades”.

@@Cheesyonmytoasty You can, I've done it and seen other people do it. I paid 14k less than my neighbour. The last build on the estate paid 32k less. What they rely on is idiots to take up the home buy scheme which is a massive con, they also offer things like assisted deposit which gives the illusion of value. Never accept there solicitors or marketing schemes as value.
