Are we staying in a haunted campground? We're following the Appalachian Trail, visiting a few of my favorite trail towns. Our first stop is the lovely small town of Hot Springs, North Carolina. We're camping just outside town at an old CCC campground.

Hi, I'm Joey - aka Moon Pie on the trail. I set out to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 2018, sharing my journey with all its ups and downs. Since then I overcame a major upheaval in my life and come back stronger than ever. I recently built out a Promaster camper van and I'm enjoying life on the road full-time with my dog, Forest, and my sidekick, Andy.

Lol! People! I kind of wondered if some may stealth camp just outside of the campground and walk in to use the restrooms. Glad you showed this campground as I didn't know it existed. I love Hot Springs.

The Atkins Hardware Store in Hot Springs is a real hardware store. What hardware stores used to be. You can find things there that are hard to find in stores nowadays.

Nothing like a private campground ⛺️. Town looked very nice during the off season. Did they have a hot springs??

They do have a hot springs. I've never been but I hear it's fun to visit.

Oh, thats a shame! It was by advance registration only when I was there. You had to get a gate code with your reservation.
