We make the trip to the Music City Mopar Show again this year, and I do a little testing with my DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone. I tried a different style of editing where I do quicker cuts. Let me know if you like this new style!

Absolutely beautiful. This whole video,showing all the Mopar parts,that old general lee,the lil red express,and... my god: That Challenger Convertible... Hahaha,hopefully one day I can come to a swap meet as well... And if I can ever get to the one you're going to: you can show me how everything works. There's a lot of parts I need for my 71 Satellite,70 Charger and 70 GTX. Thanks once again. Thumbs Up to you,Mopar or no car.

What part of Alabama are you in , Dylan. We have a large Mopar circle of friends. I remember you made a trip to Mobile to pick up the Mustang. I am on the Eastern Shore (Daphne/Fairhope, Al ). I went Mopar wagon crazy this year. When you can, how about some video of the convertible 64 Chrysler in the shop you were filming. I have a 64 Chrysler wagon , but installing 63 taillights that I prefer. Thanks again, Great work !

Back in the 60's and 70's we ordered cars with dog dish hub caps, Because we intended to put Mags on it. Now every one is looking for the correct dog dishes. We trashed them as we never intended to use them. I see you guy's putting them back on cars that never ran them. I can see you guys putting Dog Dishes on Mr. Norm's Charger cause it came that way.. It also came with a 318, 2 barrel, Norm dropped the Hemi in it.

back when the Dukes was on tv my best friend and i where driving around Hollywierd. we ended up by the studio where they filmed the tv show. there was a chain link fence that was used to keep people out. so we stop his truck and stand in the bed and look over the fence. to see row upon row of General Lees. some where in good shape other,s not so much. they also had a life size for real car hanging on the side of the building with all of the cast members pictures around it. i don,t think that in today,s world they could have a show like that on tv.

Actually the real General Lee got stolen when they were at a T.V show site. They never found the car even to this very day. That car would have been worth tons money because it was there first car and had metal stamps hidden inside the car in different places to prove it was the real General Lee car. Also to know from their stunt cars they had because they had to many stunt cars to use in the shows.

alot of the real ones were marked on the serial # , all my friends say I'm a Dukes of Hazzard nut however there are bigger ones than me out there, plus I can't afford a charger; I'm not much of a mopar guy, don't get me wrong any old car is cool but parts for dodges aren't cheap because nutty Dodge guys: ( again not all Dodge guys are nutty); think they're gold, or you're going to go jump and trash it , been trying to get something going on you tube life has been kicking myself and family in the butt , anyhow challenger sounds good, looked like a great show
@pineyLt
@pineyLt 6 жыл бұрын
Is it real? It’s not a long shot as they built about 100 of them. Way back when the series was still airing news shows TV guide did a write up on the show and said how the producers would search parking lots for ‘68-‘69 chargers and leave notes on the windshields with offers to buy them. The cars would then be painted and modified with enough of a cage that the stunt driver would survive but the car? Not so much so they went through a lot. I saw one of the originals at the Ridgely Md show last year and it was rough. I think if you find a pristine original it’s either been restored or it’s a fake.

An original General Lee? The surviving ones are all accounted for (do some research about a guy named Wayne Wooten). While it's technically possible that one or some real General Lees slipped out into the wild without being accounted for, it's highly unlikely. Plus, that car's details are wrong. The most obvious thing that's wrong is the numbers on the doors. Whoever put them on there used 45-degree angles for the corners of the zeros, which is an extremely common mistake among General Lee clones, especially older ones that were made before there were companies offering replica General Lee graphics that you just stick onto your car. The real Warner Bros. General Lees used 35-degree angles, exactly like the "O" letters in the Hollywood sign (which is, in all likelihood, what they copied when coming up with the design of the "01" for the original General Lees). Also, that car doesn't have a roll bar/cage of any kind, and all General Lees that were used in stunts had roll cages for obvious reasons. The closeup/hero cars had a non-functional roll bar which was just a main hoop and diagonal cross bar made from exhaust tubing. That car's push bar doesn't match the shape or dimensions of either of the two styles that were used on Warner Bros. General Lees. The style of it looks similar to the small push bar that was used in the early seasons, but that one is too big, the lower cross bar is too low, and it doesn't have the "J" hook shapes at the bottom. Here's a good screenshot from the TV show showing what the real ones looked like - i.imgur.com/HRSh4Lw.png Also, while the wheels are the right type, they are completely unpainted. Real General Lee wheels had the recessed rough-cast-finish areas painted black, like so - i.imgur.com/rmIWRtW.jpg. You can also see the shallow 35-degree angles in the zero in that screenshot.

Didn't the tv show cars have their doors welded shut? Except for one that was supposed to be a phony General Lee as per the episode.

That was only in the script. They'd never weld the doors shut any of the cars, it would be another pointless step in building the cars. If you anything about behind the sences, Warner Brothers was very cheap when it came to making the cars and actually welding the doors shut was just another pointless step that could risk destroying the car, via either weld burn though or setting fire to the interior

Dead-man Production many of the jump cars didn't even have a full interior. As you said, they were cheap, so they just pieced together some of them out of other cars they had wrecked, and since the jump cars were mostly only seen from the outside, they didn't even bother with it. Plus, as far as ruining the car with a weld burning through, again, these were only the jump cars. They were about to be destroyed by the landing anyway.

When I said that was only in the script, I meant that they only said and pretended that the door were welded shut and that they really weren't.
