The Exchange 106 is a nice looking building, and with the planned buildings with a similar style surrounding it will give the district a really nice distinctive look. Similarly, KL Metropolis has some decent designs. I particularly appreciate sizeable green areas being designed in, and not just some overly optimistic trees on balconies.

Most cities have a central park, but Kuala Lumpur has a rainforest. The KL Forest Eco Park is one of the oldest forest reserves in Malaysia and it is located in the dead center of the city…. pretty unreal, right?! This park has several nature trails and an awesome canopy walk over the tree tops.

I'm from Germany and visited Kuala Lumpur in August 2022. It is such a beautiful, modern and impressive city! I love how old and traditional buildings are directly next to skyscrapers, how multicultural it is with many cultures and religions living next to each other, and I like how a lot of nature and trees are incorporated directly into the city architecture, you have jungles right next to skyscrapers. Another beautiful and impressive part of Kuala Lumpur is I-City with its colorful light park at night. Malaysia is such a beautiful country 🇩🇪❤🇲🇾

As someone who has been living in Kuala Lumpur for 30 years (my entire life), I am really excited to see B1M make another video about KL. However, I want to stress that the traffic in Kuala Lumpur is getting worse from year to year. This is one of main reasons why I would never buy a car in KL. Even travelling in the suburbs is scary. There are too many high density, 40 story condominiums. For example, within 1 kilometer of my home in Wangsa Maju, there are 10 condominium projects currently being developed. On average, each of these projects consists of 2,000 units. So, in 5 years, population density here will increase by three or four folds. The only LRT line in Wangsa Maju here already at maximum capacity several years ago. I was a bit relieved a few months ago when the government approved the MRT circle line project that will connect all rail lines in KL to reduce the traffic issue. I really hope that this will not be cancelled again if there is government change in the future.

I really love these videos, but one thing that I find super annoying is the throwing around of big numbers with zero context. For example here at 4:16. Very cool that the complex reduces it's water usage by 200 Olympic-size swimming pools. But that tells you nothing about how good it actually is, when you don't know how much they consume in total. For all I know a typical development consumes 2 million swimming pools a year and this facility's capacity is totally negligible.

I thought you might find a good case study in Monterrey, Mexico: Recently it became the 2nd biggest city in the country, and as of now it houses the 2 tallest buildings in the country (Torre Obispado Top, 305m, and Torre Koi, 280m), and it’s constructing the soon-to-be the 3rd or 4th tallest in ALL the AMERICAS (Torre Rise, 456m). The funny thing is that the city has now a HUGE HUGE water supply problem.
