Is This Lithium Boat Battery Worth the Money?

In this video I discuss the the Dr. Prepare rechargeable lithium deep cycle battery. The Dr Prepare batteries are very affordable, and make a great entry level lithium battery for your boat, RV, camper or golf cart. The Dr. Prepare batteries utilize the lithium iron phosphate chemistry, also known as LiFePO4, that is much safe for recharging and use around water. Some of those non BlueTooth versions are great. I have a couple. You just get spoiled once you BT. My IONICS are rated to crank a 250hp. They do charge when running as long as you a have 13.6v. Been cranking off them for years! You still need to fully charge them when back home. Ive had lithium's for 5 years back when everyone gave me hell over them. - David M

I bought 2 LiTime 100ah TM, which has low temp but no Bluetooth or heat. I paid $540 for both. I also bought BM2 Bluetooth to monitor them, I paid $26 each for the BM2's. So far they have worked great. The BM2's give weird numbers sometimes because the battery's BMS turns off when charged and turns on when under load.

I live in a part of CA. The one's like this are fine for me it doesn't get that cold here. I will probably look into these. It is nice to be able to get a battery for my trolling motor for my kayak for under $300. Thank you I love your videos.

Great program as always. So far I only use Lithium for my portable underwater light, but I will most likely go Lithium on my boat as my current AGM batteries go down. That is if the Lithium battery prices come down!!!! I am a little leary of all the bells on whistles on some of these new batteries, its great until its not. Hopefully the industry will mature a bit more before I need new batteries. It always concerns me when new technologies take off and you suddenly have 200 manufacturers but only 5 are still around in 5 years. FYI, I have all my batteries tied together with isolators and a battery switch so that if I need to use my trolling, electronic or anchor battery for starting, its simply a turn of a knob. It only takes one nightmare on the water or in the back country to appreciate having that option. Don't ask how I know.

I use a 50 amp Iconic for electronics. It’s worked great but I’m running into charging issues using a noco charger.

I think my charger I have on my lifepo batteries shows what’s left in the batteries even though it’s not plugged into an outlet but still connected to the batteries. I leave in the battery box to check charge. Will have to get back to you on what brand it is
