Is this Britain's most hated train ? Cross Country Super Voyager by Arriva

Hi everyone and welcome to this week's episode as we travel with #crosscountrytrains to Newcastle from Birmingham on their 06:03 Super Voyager service.

Recently in the new for cutting services due to staff shortages and the Voyager has had a poor reputation since it was introduced we go behind to see what's going on
We took this journey using #trainline on a split ticket using our Railcard it cost just £40. That's a lot when you can make the same journey by coach with #flixbus or #nationalexpress for under £15
Our onboard food & drink cost just over £15 a coffee, orange juice, pretzels, crisps & 2 beers.
We also visited the busiest #greggs in the country where they didn't have #sausagerolls only #vegan ones!
The journey took 3 hours and 26 minutes and we arrived on schedule. We'd recommend Cross Country trains they are good and no where as bad as their reputation!!

Great video mate, I get the cross country trains every week between Manchester and Birmingham, i believe cross country have now started to buy up the old Avanti trains, great video earnt yourself a subscriber!

Thank you for your kind words! Yes they have added ex Avanti trains something was needed to replace the lost capacity from the HST's

Its a wonder that the trolley could get through as normally the trains are so packed that don't even attempt it. If you want the Tokyo metro experience then this is the train for you. You only had the experience you did because of the early start. When the rest of the world wakes up then it is a different story.

I work around Derby and live in Bilston area. Cross country has put me through a lot! The only train that passes Edinburgh and Nottingham to get to work so the monopoly gets to their head. As we speak they are so short of train drivers and terrible time keeping too.😢😢Nice video though

I’ll be honest I love the voyagers especially CrossCountry ones but however they could do with more coaches personally the worst trains in my opinion are surprisingly not pacers but I will be honest I can’t say what I think of pacers as I never caught one however I would like to ride one what I can be honest about is the 800/1/2 they are the worst High Speed Trains in the country for very obvious reasons with there awful seats that feel like a rock hard shell anyway worst trains of all time I think are the 701s they feel horrible so as a user of the 220/221 I can they that they are actually very nice trains when you can properly use them

They are good trains and apart from the removal of the shop I think xc do a great job. I do think they should have been longer like how the 221's are but hopefully more will be coupled together with the release from Avanti

@ true very true what they could of done is make all 220 units 7 cars and all 221 units 8 car and that would solve the issue rapidly
