Even new this amp is a steal. Perfect for studio use. I’ve had the JCM 2000 DSL 100 for donkey’s years and this is still a great addition to the arsenal as it sounds quite different to the original DSL.

Yeah they’re only £375 or so new, super solid amps especially at that price

I think the DSL series sound great.

somewhat unrelated, but i love the look of that 'relic'd' small stone, i love the green channel with the gain up on these, would happily live in that edge of breakup tone, the shoegazy and lead tones were particularly nice here, cool amp for the money in any case
@KaiDown13 күн бұрын
I got a whopping £10 off for the damage 😆 The seller had it loose in his backpack for gigs, just tore all the finish off. I dig it though. Gain up on the green channel is really what I bought this amp for and it delivers, everything else on top of that is a bonus

@@KaiDown can we send the seller stuff to relic? 😄 it looks so tastefully done, very cool in any case

i love the plumes by earthquaker. such a great od pedal for all tunings imo
@KaiDown13 күн бұрын
Agreed - I wouldn't say it's as good as a classic tube screamer for tightening up an amp since it's pretty saturated, but in cases like this where you need a little extra gain, it works brilliantly every time

@@KaiDown well said my man!
@OzzeAsjourne13 күн бұрын
@@KaiDown You can always turn the Gain on the pedal down or use the central position of the toggle, that works as a clean boost
@KaiDown13 күн бұрын
@ Yeah it can pull that duty for sure, I just prefer dedicated clean boosts like the GUP Tech for that, plus the Plumes sounds great with the drive up a bit

Dude I think that amp suits you perfectly!

I’m definitely gonna pick up a used one at some point now that I have a Marshall 2x12. The DSL range sounds significantly different to my silver jubilee studio (I’ve had a few from the range over the years), loads more bass in the DSL, the EQ is just generally in a different place. The DSL worked better with pedals for me overall.

I'm really liking the Marshall flavour, I can see something like a JVM in my future

Really good sounds! I like to experiment with different pedals to create my own sounds. The Plumes pedal is on my list. You should try pedals from Analogwise Pedals from Poland. I'm using the DROP / DED Hybrid Fuzz; it's great to use with a heavy distortion pedal... I will try the Plumes with my GT-73 (Ananashead Effects)... I like your pedalboard. It's inspiring.

Great amp with a Zakk Wylde OD. Don't need another.

I mean... i have the 100w 900, and the main OD is my SD-1, but I still have a tube screamer for a different flavor just now and then
