Is this Canon G9 any good (in 2024) ?

I'm looking for a new camera. I don't need one, I WANT one.
There's a craze, trend right now (or a year ago, I'm not sure) of using old tech cameras and I'm sort of joining in.
I want a camera for my pocket other than my phone and this is part 1 where I try not quite successfully to try a Canon PowerShot G9.

I have the Canon Powershot G15. I got it for $ 75 USD, mint in box, with all manuals and other accesories.

I used some custom settings but also added some sprinkle in lightroom

Hi Tim I have this camera and it recently suffered some water damage, it’s mostly okay but the on and off button has become super sensitive. Do you happen to know the solution for this?

It's a great camera. I've had mine for a couple of years now. I love that it shoots RAW and has custom setting. I try not to go above ISO 200, ISO 400 kind of works. Any higher and the noise is super bad.

I returned the faulty one to MPB and have bought another - I’ve actually started ANOTHER KZbin channel to specifically focus on my photography experiences

The main thing is try not to go above ISO200
