I’m sick of these debates getting decided by what suits their arguments. They don’t like to use stats with debates about Ronaldinho, Hazard, etc.. being better than Salah, they like to say who was better to watch and who was nicer on the eye. But if you even DARE bring up VVD in Rio or Terry debates then the stats come out even though VVD is a complete defender and can do everything they do (and possibly better than they do). They like to pick and choose the criteria’s of how good a player is with either how exciting they were to watch or how many trophies they won. Just choose a criteria. Jesus. An absolute cop out. Moving the goal posts. It just makes every debate a waste of time. There has to be a more effective way to decide these debates.

However, Prime Ronaldinho is easily better than Prime Salah but it was like only 3 years. Ronaldinho wasn’t just about eye test, he was talismanic player with output as well in his prime time at Barcelona. You could see him all over the pitch dominating the everyone and dictating the play as well as scoring and assisting. On the other hand, prime Salah was a goal scoring machine, ran behind defenders to get into goal scoring position, was a nightmare for the defenders. He still is threat and was consistently world class for almost a decade now. If it’s only prime for couple of season, Ronaldinho anyday. For longetivity, Salah anyday, it’s not even a contest. Only messi and Ronaldo are the contest, not even Henry. That says a lot about how good Salah was over the years.

If your team is struggling to reach top 4 and i gave you the option of a) a player who guarantees 40 g/a every season for 10 seasons in the most tiresome league and single handedly takes you to ucl final in his first season b) Ronaldinho with just 1 season with 40 g/a and then vanish for rest 9 seasons and retire early. Liverpool fans can't win all arguments with the same logic. If salah is better than hazard stats wise, Lampard is also better than Gerrard for the same reason. Salah has better stats than Ronaldinho but Ronaldinho passes the eye test. Stats aren't everything
