After going back and watching that Florida game it is scary to be the quarterback at Tennessee. The offensive line was the worst I have seen since before Hype got here. They are causing our quarterback to go backwards in his process as a young quarterback. I don’t understand how that line can be so bad. I don’t see us getting to the playoffs if that line doesn’t get better fast.

Totally agree. They're gonna have to make some adjustments or something.... especially on that left side cause that LT is getting beat every time. Nico is taking a lot of unnecessary pressure. If we get that O Line in check and they're doing what they're supposed to then I think my vols will be just fine! GBO!!

Oh no it isn't: 2021 was worse than this one because it didn't run block well at all. If Heupel continues to move Nico around in the pocket and run a legit RPO, I think we will see a solid improvement like in the 2nd Half. This was done last year after Tennessee had struggled moving the ball beginning with the Texas A&M game. The offense instantly became formidable again.

For a short time, I majored in Journalism at UT. Decades ago. I had a fight with my Journalism professor. He told our classes that Journalism was writing what people want to hear, not reality. You want a big audience, you tell your listeners what they want to hear to the degree you can. I insisted I only wanted to write the truth. My UT professor told me to switch majors. The one article I published in The Daily Beacon, iirc, won the award for best student article that year from the Tennessee board of Professional Journalist. . As a kid, I resented what the Professor taught. As an elderly person, I now appreciate my old professor's true advice. You don't tell the truth in Journalism, you tell people what they want to hear. Since this is sometimes the truth, it's ok.

I’ve been stressed about night games all year. TN has played far better in earlier games. Watching All 22 the plays are there, almost every time a big play could hit, Heard or Campbell miss a block, or some stupid little execution thing is missed. This offense is capable of greatness minus a few of those misses

At middle LB it was Pili(who is out) and Telander is 2nd on the depth chart then Spillman behind him. With Pili out and the way we sub players Spillman will definitely see some playing time I'm sure.

We’ve got to do something about our OLine issue. The all22 film tells a pretty pathetic tale on behalf of our OLine. We have to clean that up somehow otherwise we could end up squandering what could’ve been a very promising season.

Got to turn Nico lose Saturday. No more protecting him, no more slowing down. Balls to the wall on offense and stay aggressive. Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Florida defenses all kept the pressure on the UT offense. Because of our defense we were able to survive 2 of those games. While I think we can show Milroe down, he is too good of an athlete to shut down. It will be tough to hold Bama under 20 points so the UT offense is going to have to be in attack mode and produce some explosive plays for UT to win. Let's get back to what this offense does best. If Nico can't handle it then so be it, but we can't continue protecting him and expect to beat the likes of Bama and UGA.

I saw that same thing with Cole Cubelic. It didn’t even cross my mind till he pointed that out. I was one of the first ones to blame Heupel. But Cubelic is right. There was another 21 points that would have been made if Nico had thrown better passes. The receivers were wide open headed for 6. If you add 21 to our score I dont think you get any complaints.

Yea if they do there assignment every play works //Its not the play calling all the time ...but half the plays ,there calling would take too long to develop, so you only have option 1 and the checkdown .. No time to even look at option 2 cause Heard is geting manhandled

The offense is hampered by poor line play - no doubt about it. Too many missed blocks - the plays are there if blocking is better / add to that a still young QB and the mechanics don’t hold up when you are running for your life - and their are opportunities down field that we need to make

We don't need an excuse to get loud. We need a quarterback. This, Tennessee offense will not run without that. At all. Pulling for nico, but this sec football may be too fast for his body and brains. I've thought all year it looks like Heupel is calling plays... He's in the mic too much to just be talking to the OC. Regardless, the offensive struggle is not 1 dimensional. O-line is porous, Nico is second guessing himself, WRs not catching, penalties negating positive plays, and questionable play calling. The entire unit needs to step up. This could be the game where it all comes together, and if it does, Vols by fiddy!!!!
