all right, luciano. be honest. how many times have you been vincente for Halloween? but in all seriousness, the impact and quality of luciano's contributions to the flamenco world may not yet be reflected by view count, but he's right up there at the very top. stuff like this is really pushing the envelope in terms of overall quality and when he finally releases his album, it will be official. a lot of these guys seeing him in the rear view mirror for the first time won't even realize he's already lapped them

I think Paco once said in one of his documentaries when he was asked whether what he was playing was flamenco or not that "because I am playing it, then it is flamenco" LOL or something of that nature. At the end of the day, I think flamenco is not bound by palos, but rather is a spirit and an approach to playing... an attitude, maybe. Cheers! ;)

Luciano, have you thought of recording some of these improvisations on an album? One song could be a tribute to Paco, another to Vicente, third to Ramon Montoya (rondeña),...etc. This could be a very interesting project with your "reading" of these guitarists. Now speaking of unusual palos, do you know Pedro Javier Gonzàlez? He enjoys baffling the audience with "mystery" palos. For example, what palo do you make out of his cancion Pueblo Blanco, (available on KZbin)? He is a fantastic guitarist and I would be very interested to hear your thoughts. Gracias amigo!
@LucianoGhosn
@LucianoGhosn 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Hierro! It's a good idea of course. I have something like this I mind already, dedicating pieces to Maestros I feel connection and inspiration from. Regarding Pedro Javier, it's a beautiful piece, I love his playing as well! I think it's close to a Taranta really, since it's played on Bm, but in any case if the F#flat9 chord (Taranta chord let's say), is not used often to close the falsetas, then it's ok to also be a cancion I think. Just like "Alma" from "Antonio Rey". Cheers!

Hi luciano , u r amazing as always I have a question in min 4:19 you go over the f major chord from one position to another is that a technique if so what is it called And how can i learn it over other chords Thx in advance
@LucianoGhosn
@LucianoGhosn 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! What I did there was just simply changing the position (of the same chord), from one place to the other. Basically, from the first position on the first fret (E shaped F major), and going to the (C Shaped F Major) on the 5th fret. It doesn't have a technique name. You can of course do that with any chord really, just changing from one position to the other, (finding a note you can use to slide between each chords). Cheers!
